Although it looks like a strategy game, this is actually a casual kingdom builder where you don’t have to worry about losing progress. You may start playing straight away or swap maps a few times till you're satisfied. Aside from different resource placements, the game is always set on a small island. You begin with erecting a castle and then expand with roads and new structures. The important ones are a house, woodcutter and quarry. If you want to make money, which is required to create anything in the game, you must sell resources on the market. Selling and purchasing takes time since you can only deal with one unit each click or hold shift for five units. Resources can never run out. Despite the fact that trees are limited, you may simply plant a new one for a single coin. Food and stone need considerably less effort because you'll have access to them as soon as you create a farm or a quarry. There are a few additional structures, but they solely serve to boost the flow of resources or happiness. The only threat are a couple of monsters that can attack your village. But all they do are drop the happiness of people or very rarely destroy a building. You can chase them away if you place a few defense towers. Overall, getting all achievements and seeing everything the game has to offer does not take long.

Our Dear Kingdom is a very relaxing and casual experience. For the price you really can't go wrong with this one. The resources are easy to manage and you can simply build and watch the Kingdom grow. There are Monsters but they seem to be no real danger to your buildings or settlers. They honestly could be more of a threat imo because I mostly just ignore them .
I would call this a poor mans kingdoms and castles, and not saying that's a bad thing its a great little game here its relaxing and not with much challenge if you know what to build first, I would say though it good use some more updates, being able to turn off production like food when you dont need anymore to move the villagers else were would be nice and maybe getting some info when clicking on a building and the only bug I seen was when I started a game the villagers went in the wrong direction from were I built and the stuff starting working with out them but after a little bit the villagers did go where they needed to and would be nice to have more speed options other then that for the price its worth a buy 3/5 keep up the good work

Für den Preis ein schönes kleines Aufbau-Spielchen.
Our Dear Kingdom is a chill and casual city-building experience. Managing resources is simple, and watching your kingdom grow is quite satisfying. For the price, it's a solid pick if you're looking for a laid-back game where you can build at your own pace. There are monsters, but they pose little to no real threat to your buildings or settlers. In fact, they’re so inconsequential that I mostly just ignore them. A bit more danger or strategy would have added some needed depth. Overall, if you’re after a stress-free building sim, this is a great choice. Just don’t expect much in the way of challenge.
Simple and relaxing builder where you slowly grow your village into a small kingdom, not very hard but fun to play if you like casual strategy games --> Easy to understand gameplay --> Relaxing and no stress while building --> Resources are simple to manage --> Monsters are there but not very hard --> Good for casual players I bought the game on sale so for the price I paid it feels worth it, not a big game but still enjoyable, I recommend it if you like simple kingdom building games <3
A Cute & Relaxing short game. Good for a first Colony Sim/City Builder. Simple resource management & simplistic but charming art style makes this a nice title to play for a bit and get an easy city/all achievements. 7.5/10
Our Dear Kingdom is a relaxing indie city-building game that focuses on slow progression, resource management, and peaceful kingdom expansion rather than large-scale complexity or high-pressure strategy mechanics. Developed and published by Alex Voxel, the game begins with players arriving on a small island with limited resources and gradually transforming it into a thriving medieval settlement. Instead of overwhelming players with wars, disasters, or complicated political systems, the experience centers around calm construction, efficient planning, and the simple satisfaction of watching a tiny village slowly grow into a functioning kingdom. The gameplay revolves around gathering resources, constructing buildings, and carefully expanding the settlement over time. Players start with basic structures and limited production capabilities before gradually unlocking farms, homes, workshops, and additional buildings needed to sustain a larger population. The progression system is intentionally steady and methodical, encouraging players to focus on organization and long-term planning rather than rapid expansion. This slower pacing gives the game a very different atmosphere compared to more demanding city builders that constantly pressure players with emergencies or survival mechanics. One of the strongest aspects of Our Dear Kingdom is its accessibility. The systems are easy to understand, menus remain straightforward, and the overall structure avoids becoming overly complicated. Even players with little experience in strategy or management games can quickly understand how resource gathering and building placement work. The game focuses on maintaining a calm and approachable experience instead of burying players beneath endless mechanics and micromanagement systems. This simplicity makes it especially appealing for players looking for a more casual and stress-free city-building experience. The voxel-inspired art style contributes heavily to the game’s charm. Buildings, landscapes, and environmental details use a colorful blocky design that creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Watching roads connect villages, farms spread across the landscape, and houses gradually fill the island gives the game a rewarding visual sense of progression. The simple graphics may not compete with larger simulation titles technically, but they fit the game’s peaceful tone perfectly. The island slowly transforming from empty land into a lively settlement becomes one of the most satisfying parts of the entire experience. The medieval setting also works surprisingly well within the minimalist design. Windmills, farms, workshops, and small homes slowly create the feeling of building a humble fantasy kingdom piece by piece. The game captures the relaxing appeal that many city-building fans enjoy where the settlement itself becomes the reward. Even though the systems are relatively lightweight, there is still genuine satisfaction in optimizing layouts and watching production chains gradually improve over time. The soundtrack and audio design help reinforce the calm atmosphere throughout the game. Soft background music and simple environmental sounds create a peaceful mood that makes long building sessions feel relaxing rather than exhausting. The audio presentation is subtle and unobtrusive, which works in the game’s favor because it allows players to focus on planning and expansion without unnecessary distractions. Combined with the slow pacing, the soundtrack helps create a soothing experience that feels ideal for casual play sessions. Another strength is the game’s lightweight structure. Our Dear Kingdom does not require huge time investment or advanced hardware to enjoy. Sessions can be short and relaxing without feeling overwhelming, making it easy to return to the game casually over time. Players who enjoy sandbox-style progression without excessive complexity will likely appreciate how streamlined the overall experience feels. However, the simplicity that makes the game approachable also becomes its biggest weakness after longer play sessions. Once players fully understand the core systems, the gameplay loop begins to feel repetitive because there are relatively few advanced mechanics introduced later in progression. Resource management remains fairly basic, population systems lack depth, and there are not many dynamic events or major gameplay surprises to keep the experience evolving. Experienced city-building fans may eventually feel that the kingdom lacks complexity compared to larger strategy titles. The indie scope is also noticeable in certain areas. Environmental variety is somewhat limited, animations are fairly minimal, and the world can occasionally feel empty despite the charming presentation. Players hoping for deep political systems, exploration mechanics, or more advanced economic management may find the experience too lightweight to remain engaging over long periods. The game feels more like a relaxing sandbox project than a deeply strategic kingdom simulator. Narrative content is also extremely limited. The game focuses almost entirely on building and progression without much storytelling or world-building beyond the basic medieval setting. For some players, this minimalist approach will actually improve the relaxing atmosphere because there are no interruptions pulling attention away from construction and management. Others, however, may wish there were more events, lore, or dynamic interactions to make the kingdom feel more alive. Despite those limitations, Our Dear Kingdom succeeds because it understands exactly what type of experience it wants to deliver. It does not try to compete with massive strategy simulators filled with endless systems and complicated mechanics. Instead, it offers a peaceful and accessible city-building experience centered around calm progression and satisfying expansion. The simple pleasure of watching a small island gradually become a thriving settlement gives the game a cozy charm that remains enjoyable throughout much of the experience. Ultimately, Our Dear Kingdom is a modest but enjoyable indie management game that works best as a relaxing sandbox rather than a deeply strategic simulation. Its approachable mechanics, charming voxel visuals, and peaceful atmosphere create a pleasant gameplay loop that casual city-building fans may find surprisingly addictive. While the limited depth prevents it from reaching the complexity of larger genre leaders, the game still offers enough charm and satisfaction to make it a worthwhile experience for players looking for a calm medieval kingdom builder. Rating: 7/10
