utterly forgettable, and seemingly janky. riding on the coattails of Limbo. of all the indie platformers that exist, there are better ones.
Oscura: Lost Light is a decent Limbo-inspired puzzle platformer that's worth picking up on sale if you enjoy the genre. The four-gem mechanic — swapping between gravity reversal, slow-motion, wall-breaking, and platform-conjuring — keeps things interesting, and the silhouetted art style is genuinely striking. Checkpoints are generous for most of the game, which keeps frustration low, though the final level throws that balance out the window with brutal checkpoint spacing. I finished it in about 3-4 hours and had fun throughout, but it left no lasting impression — the levels blur together and the story is forgettable. If you can grab it in a bundle or at a steep discount, it's a solid weekend platformer; at full price, there are better options in the genre.

I mean, it's not a bad game. It's alright. It's a bit uninspiring, but it's alright. I don't regret playing this game and I had fun. The biggest problem is that there are so many other games which are better. But if you're looking for a short and pretty easy 2D platformer then you could pick it up
6/10 This game controls really well and the frustration is low, but the dark aesthetics work against it. There's no problem seeing what you need to, but the darkness adds a level of monotany to the game. It's also pretty short, so wait until a sale if you're interested.
Good little 1-2 hour game, couldn't hold my interest to actually finish it, but if light fare puzzle/platformer is your thing, this game is for you.
This game is the textbook definition of shovel-ware you find in the bargain bin of your local grocery store. It feels and plays like a school project a group made for college; even for 2015 standards it lacks polish, originality, joy while playing, it just barely meets the basic criteria of what a "game" is. Worst on top of all of that is that they are charging $6.99 for it. If you didn't get this game like me and many others for either free or as part of a bundle then you definitively wasted your money. Go get a refund. Oscura: Lost Light is a waste of time in a hobby completely based on wasting people's time.
