Hi! First of all, thank you for creating Orebound. We're really enjoying the game and can see how much potential it has. While testing a large factory, we noticed a few things that might help with optimization. Performance seems to drop much more in areas with many dynamic lights and terrain/foliage modifications. Interestingly, our GPU usage stays around 33–35%, while in other Unreal Engine factory games it reaches much higher utilization. We're not sure if these observations are related, but we hope they might be useful. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!
Unfortunately, after 10 hours of play on June 24, 2026, I can't recommend this game. 90% of this game is about manipulating the terrain to access caves with unlimited resources and create bases there. Unfortunately, you have the WORST terrain manipulation tools I've ever seen in a game!! Creating an elevator to the first cave took me 15 minutes because you can only remove one unit of depth in 5x5 area. The game lacks basic QOL features, such as sharing materials from chests or machines. Maybe something like a coin bank will unlock later in the game, but so far, no luck. (edit) June 26, 2026, I added another 10 hours, unfortunately, without any improvement. The game simply involves placing a miner on an infinite source and producing the most expensive items possible and selling them = cash = upgrades. With such a simple gameplay, building a base and modifying the terrain is the only FUN. Unfortunately, after unlocking the final level of tools, manipulating the terrain still is a nightmare: - You remove 1unit layer , so you're always left with 1 px (plane) of leftovers. - The ore in the veins doesn't disappear when you remove the terrain, so it floats everywhere. Uninstall for now.
Been itching for a good crafting/survival/automation game for a minute. Orebound is scratching that itch pretty well. I think about the game pretty frequently while at work even. xD I enjoy the monetized research element. Excited for future updates!
A well fleshed out first person factory builder game. Has some combat and end game goals. The new updates have added a lot more to the game
