Orbitous is an action roguelike where every object has gravity. Every planet, moon, star, enemy, projectile, is attracted to one another. Nothing is stationary in this procedurally generated galaxy. Fly between star systems, build weapons, and fight enemies.

About
Gravity is everywhere. Use sling-shot maneuvers to your advantage and shoot projectiles on curved trajectories. Gravity can guide you, but it can also be your downfall.
Nothing is stationary. Every star system is fully simulated, constantly orbiting around the black hole in the center of the galaxy. Watch the worlds around you collapse, explode, and merge into new ones.
There is no safe place in this galaxy. The Network is constantly hunting you down. And even if you think you've found comfortable ground to land on, there's no guaranteeing the endless tides of gravity won't wash it away.
Build better weapons to progress. Take an ordinary bullet and modify it into a shotgun, increase its mass until it's large enough to host orbiting projectiles, or add a field of heat to burn nearby enemies. There are many possibilities, and most modifiers are stackable.
Real time physics. After a bit of procedural generation, your fate is left to entropy. Watch lively worlds burn, your favorite shops be demolished, and the stars that once guided you burst into a thousand pieces.

Update now that I'm not sleep deprived. I've loosely followed this game ever since the first youtube video about its development, and now that it's released I keep finding myself coming back. It's got that "ragequit when you lose then re-open the game an hour later" feeling to it that a lot of roguelites tend to have in my experience. Might not be everyone's cup of tea though, especially because it's pretty limited in scope; only a handful of weapons and modifiers, and scaling is a bit limited. Visually, the dev added a starry background recently which goes a long way to make it seem a bit less like a tech demo, though I do feel some minor texturing on the stars and planets could go a long way! Gameplay-wise, more weapon variety and maybe a way to stack more modifiers in late-game would be fun. Maybe a way to up the amount of thrust you've got to work with overtime too? The issue with it being a bit tough to make out which direction you're facing when zoomed out persists, though is mitigated by your ship having a right-click-to-face-toward-cursor function. I'm not sure actually if I've beaten the game or not- uncertain if the end of the game is just an endless onslaught until you die, or if there actually is an end to the waves of enemies. The lack of collision damage is understandable, but it WOULD be fun to be able to kill enemies by smashing them into a rogue planet at a million miles per hour. Doing a playthrough where I abused rock and 'more gravity' made me wish there were more ways to interact with the gameworld itself, rather than purely being its victim. Overall, at $3, I'd say if you enjoy Newtonian physics you should give this game a shot. Just beware of the 'R' button, the game doesn't tell you when there's enemies near and you happen to be zoomed out. --- At first I was 50/50 on recommend vs not recommend, but for the price after a few hours of play, the fun-to-cost ratio is honestly pretty exceptional for this game. The most brutal part about this game is how dynamic the gameworld is. Stability feels like a rare treat. I would like to kindly request that the direction indicator when zoomed out be made a little more visible though :D Will be updating my review after some more play.
10/10 would recommend. It's kinda like outer wilds crossed with risk of rain but harder. Definitely give it a go!!
Was about to face off against the second boss as it just naturally sunk into a star, 10/10 fight. would beat him him up again
peak game but dying in stars is extremely annoying especially when your just drifting through space then get attacked and then crash into a star mid fight got to the hunter bossfight and then crashed into a star while fighting :(
Cool concept, but isn't super fun. I feel like gravity dropoff is super severe, it doesnt actually feel like you're in orbit around planets or actually utilizing them for gravity assists. Combat lackluster, but I really like the concept of it. I think some heavy tweaking could bring this around
This is a great game. I love the difficulty curve and the combustibility with the weapon upgrades. Another thing i really like about it is you dont have to fight the bosses either but rather grind for the best builds if you want to. I see myself playing this a lot more in the future
A somewhat interesting tech demo. But it's basically impossible to see what you're doing, where you are going, and what you have to do. Add some rather significant time pressure to act, and I felt entirely lost, just zipping around randomly and crashing into everything. Add a combat system that feels slow and impactless, with groups of enemies that swarm and overwhelm you. I don't really see a game here, let alone an enjoyable one.
Its great! i liked the music a ton i would recommend this. it has great gameplay and its pretty funny aswell and only 4$ would recommend overall 8.4/10. (edit) i just lost my 2 hour save to flying into a sun by accident. 10/10
9/10 you can make a planet gun
An amazingly creative game with a simple but interesting story, the unity vibes are intense but only add to the fun, i would love to see this game expanded but as it is now its amazing, the exploration feels fun and like you aren't the center of the galaxy, with things happening all around you like planets colliding and stars dying, it gives you a sense of urgency when in a system trying to buy what you need and refuel before something catastrophic happens. The game itself is fairly easy, i found myself dying to an unexpected star in my path more rather than the actual enemies, this is mostly because its fairly easy to make an absolutely broken build and i am 100% guilty of doing that, but even with my death rays the boss fights we're still fun as i had to pay attention and make sure i wasn't instantly destroyed by a wave of projectiles, the music and audio is fine, not really my style but it fits into the games aesthetic well enough, overall its a very unique concept i hope to see expanded upon soon in the future, an amazing first steam publish by Oddmin and I'm excited to see what they come out with in the future!
