the REAL wolfenstein 2 dropped
inverted-mouse issue fixed. Back at killing nazis ^___^
pretty fun game that pays a nice homage to wolf 3d and some other classics while having a good look and feel of its own. the art style and look of the maps stands out pretty uniquely amongst the retro games and do get more complex and interesting as you go. i do enjoy the extra bit of exploring you can do for rewards and secret finding that has me second guessing if i missed a gold door somewhere before changing levels.
So close, almost good, but with a pervasive feeling of "eh, good enough" throughout everything I've played so far. Episode 1 felt like it needed a bit more polish, but Episode 2 feels so half-baked I might just move on. Several reviews point out better level design in Episode 3, but I'm very disappointed with everything being 60% good enough, just good enough that I'm not putting it down right away. Needs a lot more testing and a lot of troubleshooting, but it's definitely something I will probably be returning to here and there, as there's still a lot here to like EDIT: Upon posting this review, my achievement progress on all achievements was reset to 0 and is now stuck there. "Watch number go up" was literally the only thing it had left keeping me playing. This game is currently, as of 7/1/2026, a broken mess, between the corpses of dogs barking endlessly until you leave each map to the jittery and inconsistent framerate for no reason, this game needed much more time in the oven and several more passes on every map to assure some kind of quality
Killing fascists never feels not good. There are some bugs, particularly with sound design and hit detection, and the maps can be confusing, but it still feels good. A single dev made a game way more fun than the last 4 or five call of doodies. Something to consider.
Probably my favorite retro styled fps (or "boomer shooter"). Killer soundtrack. The setting is unique and you get to shoot fascists. I wasn't a fan of the final boss, but that was just one level of roughly 27. Compared to Wolfenstein 3D (the most obvious inspiration), the levels are much more detailed and expansive. I can only think of a couple maps that took place in maze like corridors the entire time. Most levels are quite expansive and are very good at creating environments that feel like actual locations. Good amount of secrets, and you can find secret upgrades beyond just weapons or ammo. The weapon variety is good, you've got all the classic options and none of them feel useless or overpowered. I wish the projectiles from the shotgun moved a bit faster, but even still I ended up using it quite a lot. I played on the hardest difficulty and greatly enjoyed it. There are a good amount of options to customize visuals, controls, and even custom difficulty. I did encounter a few bugs (a couple non-solid walls and floors, dead dogs that bark when you load a save), but nothing game breaking or that negatively impacted my feelings on this game.
Duchowy spadkobierca Wolfensteina 3D. Trochę drażni brak możliwości użytkowania gamepada poza menu gry i trzeba kombinować z przypisywaniem klawiszy w aplikacji Steam. Gra nie ma współczesnych ulepszeń, więc jeśli kogoś nużą gry z początku lat 90 na silniku BUILD, to nie warto. Poziomy momentami przypominają kompleksowość i ,,labiryntowość" z DOOM-a 2, mapy często rozległe i oskryptowane animacjami wzmacniającymi poczucie imersji. Złoto dla lubiących boomershootery. Klasyczna gra retro, ale dzisiaj nie trąci myszką, tak jak tytuły typu Wolfenstein 3D lub Blakestone.
real jank game. can be fun some times but becomes reallly annoying around the end. especially with its horrible final boss. has a surprisingly banger soundtrack that reminds me of snes games. make sure to go into it with low expectations for the most fun you can get. some bugs i encountered: enemies (especially dogs) tend to stop working by that i mean they stop attacking and become invulnerable in some positions. in a level enemies went through an open door and straight up vanished. and in some areas the mouse bugs out and starts to flick while looking around with no consistent mouse sensitivity (this happen only in a few areas)
While I would definitely recommend this game for any fans of boomer shooters, I will add some caveats. The game is still buggy, falling through walls or getting stuck is a not too uncommon occurrence. A few achievements won't unlock or need to be patched. I don't see any community created maps in the menu, so I'm not sure if it's broken or the game's just that niche. I do think this game deserves some recognition, and the setting in the Spanish Civil War helps it stand out from others. I'd love to see more content added in the future or more from these developers.
Pointless oil slipping movements, bad aiming without vertical aim, it looks cool since it is a wannabe wolfenstein thought it cannot reach it, not so good music
