Reviewed using HTC Vive Pro and 1.0 Controllers
🎃 Tя!cked not Tяeated 🎃 $9.99 needs to be alot more work done here to justify this price❗ Locomotion controls are vary strange you squeeze Vive Grips and then swing your Vive Controls up and down. That feels awkward and I have small hands so Vive Grips are a problem for me to maintain squeeze for vary long. Weapon Pick up you use the touch pad again that feels awkward. I can't think of many others Devs use touch pad this way. I noticed the sword had Haptic Feedback when I swing not aiming at the ememy just in front of me. Doesn't wait for me to make contact also super weird feeling. Enemys move off angle hey don't come straight at you. They seem to cross in front then sharp turn left into you. Like Nascar making left turns all day long, not natural looking. I do like the concept and art style you have to far❗
Your Goals below sound great to me!
"How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?" “We plan to add in full version: -Multiplayer and Co-op -DeathMatch -Team Deatmatch -Сastle siege -Character Customization”
I hope you can pull all this off in 6 months stated!
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? “ "Game will be in early access about half a year."
I'll look again later this year! For now NOPE!

NO, Just NO
Too many bugs and not worth anywhere near the asking price. Gameplay Vid: https://youtu.be/g74OXZaJMcE Pros: The sword slicing of the enemies Cons: Everything else in this half finished game. Highlights: The puff of what looks like blood from someone who is having a heavy period. Played on a Vive 6600K OC 4.3 16 GB Ram GTX 1080
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Full disclosure: I got this game free from the Steam Curator program, so I got to play it before the full release. I tried telling the dev before this release about the bugs in the game, but game was released with the same errorrs as EA. This is a 360 wave melee/shooter. Locomotion is by swinging your arms and pressing grab. You can pick 1 of 3 warriors and there is 1 environment. As you get attacked, red splotches fill your HMD view. I actually liked the boxy art style and the main menu, in particular, looks good. When you select your warrior they bow down so I thought that was a very nice touch. You can test out the weapons also in the main menu, but I could never figure out how to drop a weapon in the main menu, which is weird because you can drop it in the actual game itself by pressing down on your joystick. The 1 environment where you fight is very bland. The music is good, but it will get repetitive real quick. The good news is that all 3 warriors play different. You have the samurai with the long sword and short sword, the ninja with the shuriken (shooting stars) and short swords (2), and finally the archer with the bow and arrow and a short sword. My favorite was the ninja. The shuriken is a little OP, it's a one hit kill and you can shoot them pretty fast. The archer was broken for me. I could not figure out how to get arrows from behind my back consistently. I was only able to do it 3 times in a game out of maybe 30 tries. I felt like I had to reach behind my back about as far as I could while pressing down on the joystick and trigger button for it to maybe work. It made the archer unplayable. The samurai was okay, I think you just really need a good imagination to enjoy pure melee wave shooters when there's no strategy other than flail away. One of the many problems is that finding the second weapon can be a tenuous proposition. My secret for finding it is to just feel the vibratons of your motion controller on your open hand as you reach down to the side of your body. Another problem is the enemy AI. Sometimes they just stand back there and do nothing. In fact, on my last playthrough, where I just gave up on the game, all enemies stopped attacking and just stood there or wandered around aimlessly without attacking. Even when they were attacking, they would just go directly at you and start attacking around you. The AI would be especially bad when there were lots of enemies on the screen. Also, with lots of enemies on screen, the frame rate takes a drop. It also seems your weapons disappear with lots of on-screen enemies, it happened to me twice. So the game's normal price is $9.99 and the current sale price is $8.49. That's just way overpriced for what you're getting. There's no story, there's only 1 environment, and the combat is way too basic. I think the ideal price would be $3 if the bugs I mentioned are fixed, especially the archery mechanic of getting your arrow. Rate 3.5/10. It has bugs, it's too simplistic, and it's overpriced. I got this game for free and I don't want to play it again after a little less than 40 minutes. Needs major updates and fixes to be recommendable.
Painfully floaty and fairly broken, OniBushi VR is a wave shooter where you're a samurai, ninja or archer as you fight off floppy enemies. The controls are a little weird and actions like drawing an arrow from your quiver aren't mapped very well; it takes multiple tries to draw an arrow which makes the mechanic essentially unplayable. Melee is rather straight forward, but uninteresting. Enemies are cut in half and become noodle-y in a slash, which isn't entertaining for very long. There's not much swordplay to speak of, at least when playing with the intent of having a sword fight. Enemies are rather simplistic and don't really employ tactics that deviate from rushing straight at you once they enter the courtyard. Movement is something like GORN but a little more sloppy, which doesn't really help the situation at all. Could be good once they add some love to it (and add some features from the list they've posted for their early access goals), but for now it's not worth the asking price. Meine Meinung, Finger weg! oh my lord this game is so bad. should cost 1.00 then id keep it
i can see the vision the dev have but they need to sort the controls out for the htv vive like that putting me off badly sort that out and will make the game better in my opion
Full disclosure: This game was sent to me for review. I don't get paid for reviews. I'm just a curator who is very passionate about VR and gaming in general. OniBushi VR is pretty terrible, but it's in Early Access, so I will give it more time to develop. The difficult part of this review is the developer asked me to play it right now, in its unfinished state, rather than waiting for it to be polished a lot more. If your game isn't close to playable, don't go around giving out review copies. It won't benefit you. Anyway, Onibushi VR is another of many sword-fighting VR titles being released into Early Access. I hope this one develops into something truly marvelous, though. I could see the potential in this game from its concept, but it needs a ton of work.
I like the concept and the aesthetic but everything else is lacking about this title. This game is worth like 2-3$ at it's current state and is a repetitive wave fighter with very little diversity. BUT the roadmap has great potential so I will be giving this a positive review in hope of future content! I made a quick video of me playing this game and showing off it's mechanics here : https://youtu.be/n93RtAqwKNM
