About
One Move Away is a 3D, first-person game that blends packing based puzzles with a beautiful art style. Strategically pack away possessions at various stages of three characters' lives.
As we go through life, the number of possessions we accumulate grows, making packing a difficult task. This vast collection of belongings becomes challenging when it's time to pack.
Whether you're a meticulous or chaotic packer, One Move Away challenges you to pack your way. Optimize your strategy or embrace the mess, just make sure the boot closes!
Be prepared for every action to have a reaction. Expect realistic physics, just like in real life. Items placed carelessly can have a domino effect, pile them too high, and they’ll all fall down!
Experience the ultimate satisfaction of perfectly packing numerous items, expertly placing each one into its rightful space. Revel in the sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing the packing process from start to finish.
Challenge yourself, with multiple objectives to hit that will require you to think strategically .Each level gives you a new packing challenge with different sizes, shapes, and space limits to work around. Can you beat the clock and achieve packing perfection?

Genuiely very fun and challenging, sad to see Mixed reviews. I hope with the updates to some mechanics that changes, because this game really deserves some love. I have been looking forward to playing since the demo released and can I just say it is so satisfying. The physics engine works just like you feel it should, the collision between objects has been perfect so far, no bugs at all in my play through. The tutorial and stories are lovely and well thought out. I am absolutely loving my experience and I hope if anyone reads this they truly give this game a go.
Nice little puzzle game, though I would not personally call it cozy. If you enjoy stacking or organizing there is fun here. I finished the first character’s story and liked the basic idea. That said, I still got motion sick even after using the options to reduce it, so that was rough. Some puzzles also became frustrating because of the janky physics, and the controls could still feel confusing even after I had been playing for a while.
Though not as visually appealing or classic as Unpacking (sorry for the obvious comparisons, devs), One Move Away stands quite tall on its own thanks to a fun twist on the "jenga of life" gameplay, the constant pleasant tickle of figuring out an optimal packing strategy, a few interesting stories told solely through objects, and a remarkably smooth technical performance. I don't think I encountered a single actual "bug" in my entire playtime, and for a physics-driven game like this that feels impressive and important when the perfect packing job can quickly go south. The physics themselves are fun to play with (stick chair legs between the trailer wall and a box! Who cares if it's sticking out two feet into traffic! Not this game!) and the reverse time mechanic is great for quickly erasing mistakes without being a get-out-of-jail-free card. Overall, heartily recommended and thanks to the devs for a great game.
7 years of warehousing trained me for this.
I think the mechanics could use a *touch* of work. Mostly I think people could benefit from a jump button and/or and in-between state from standing to crouching, just to make navigation a little easier during larger, more challenging levels. That being said, One Move Away is a very relaxing but challenging game that is so satisfying to beat! You'll think you're killin' a level with ease, and then lo and behold a massive dresser you forgot to account for in the moving truck. Things might seem impossible, but after restarting and trying a different approach, suddenly everything fits seamlessly with no trouble at all! I highly recommend this game, but go into it expecting a challenging puzzle, NOT a cozy copy/paste of "Unpacking".
