very charming little puzzle game! it's short & sweet- would recommend to my fellow completionists <33
Projected Dreams is a calming, cosy experience with just the right level of challenge - I really enjoyed it! Some of the chapters also add really cool mechanics, from turning items invisible to enlarging or even cloning them, which keeps the puzzles engaging & varied. The hint system is also well designed, offering a helpful guide for the tricker levels without spoiling the solutions. It’s the perfect game if you want to relax & unwind, especially on the Steam Deck!
Before i start this review, i gotta get one thing out of the way. How the hell does this only have 97 reviews??? This a superb puzzle game that deserves everyone's attention, go play it right now! Now, if that wasn't enough to convince you, here's the proper review: Projected Dreams is a simple to learn, yet hard to master puzzle game, with a somewhat similar concept to Snipperclips (if anyone reading this has played that). You get a bunch of objects, a shadow you have to cast, and good luck, do your best. And i gotta say, it pulls off this concept superbly. Each level has a variety of solutions, and the only limit is your imagination, and how much you can mess around with the physics. It doesn't overstay it's welcome, coming in at around 3 hours, and in that time constantly introducing new mechanics to spice up the puzzles every chapter. This combines into the final chapter where you take all you've learned, and get to mess around with all of the mechanics introduced previously at once, it's genuinely fantastic. Now, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, i do have one major critique, and that is the UI, or rather level design. The challenge should come from seeing what objects you have at your disposal, and thinking how you can use them, but instead the objects are scattered randomly around the room, hidden in containers and on shelves, leading to cases where you are struggling on a puzzle, and then find out there was an item hidden somewhere that is absolutely necessary to completing it. This is by far my biggest gripe with the game, but the positives still far outweigh this one negative point. All in all, this one's really worth playing (and rather underrated), so go do it!
7/10 Projected Dreams is a cozy aesthetically pleasing shadow puzzle game. Endearing, Short, and Sweet. My takeaway: Projected Dreams was a fun play but took me a while to complete because I couldn’t get gripped into the gameplay. I wasn’t around in the 90s so maybe the 90s nostalgia was lost on me? When I did play it was very fun! I loved the visual story, challenges, art, and soundscape. It’s sweet and the puzzles weren’t too difficult. There’s plenty of small details that showcase how much love and effort was put in the game, it’s extremely charming! The tutorial was also easy to follow and a lot of the gameplay felt intuitive. All together it took me three hours to fully complete the game with all achievements. Knocked down points because the game is very short (with little replayability) and finicky. What may work as a level completion for someone else, may not work for you. Sometimes the physics are completely luck based and the controls themselves are extremely clunky on keyboard. Rotating the pieces brought me a lot of frustration. For full price I wouldn’t recommend this game but it’s worth the experience on sale! Pros

Extremely cute.
Effort and love was obvious from the Dev.
Aesthetic art.
Fitting sounds and music.
Endearing wordless story.
Increasingly challenging.
Great tutorial and intuitive gameplay.
Achievable achievements are relatively easy to achieve.
Great value on sale.
Cons

Too short.
Clunky keyboard controls.
No replayability.

I wish the story wasn’t wordless! Even a page or two for the pictures would’ve made a world of difference in getting attached and remembering the characters.
Projected Dreams is a chill and cozy puzzle game where you stack items against a spotlight to produce a shadow. It features different chapters each of which adds a new mechanic to the game like combining 2 shadows, making an item invisible or gluing stuff together to achieve your goal. There's a couple extra challenges and collectible tapes that you can listen to and also use to solve puzzles if you wish to. The storytelling is done entirely through pictures with no dialogue whatsoever. Overall not a bad experience for all ages, a fun short, casual puzzle game that you can fling with on a rainy day.
Very cute & very cozy puzzle game 7/10
Projected Dreams is a charming, casual puzzle game in which players must use a variety of items to create a prescribed silhouette to reveal a heartwarming story of friendship. It is a fun, chill-out game with satisfying and original puzzles. It will take around 3-6 hours to complete, depending on completion level and pace. It boasts nostalgic settings and objects and a charming aesthetic. The artwork in the photos is especially delightful and helps to tell a touching story with an almost universal relatability. Each aspect of the game works in tandem with the others, and the overall experience is a lot of fun and very relaxing. It is a great example of a casual puzzle game, and I’d happily recommend it to fans of the genre. It's an adorable little puzzle game. The mechanics are easy to learn, but each new sequence of levels contains a different spin on the light and shadow puzzle. Sometimes you will have to utilize two lights, for example, or make an object invisible. It's well executed and makes you think without ever being too frustrating. A great way to spend a few minutes here and there when you can't play for longer periods.
Projected Dreams is a really cozy, nostalgic and fun little puzzle game that invites you to relive the past and play around like a child again, even if it’s just for a few hours and the blocks tumble down every now and then. Watch my full review here! https://youtu.be/ZMGOdtU9sLc
