About
One Move Away is a 3D, first-person game that blends packing based puzzles with a beautiful art style. Strategically pack away possessions at various stages of three characters' lives.
As we go through life, the number of possessions we accumulate grows, making packing a difficult task. This vast collection of belongings becomes challenging when it's time to pack.
Whether you're a meticulous or chaotic packer, One Move Away challenges you to pack your way. Optimize your strategy or embrace the mess, just make sure the boot closes!
Be prepared for every action to have a reaction. Expect realistic physics, just like in real life. Items placed carelessly can have a domino effect, pile them too high, and they’ll all fall down!
Experience the ultimate satisfaction of perfectly packing numerous items, expertly placing each one into its rightful space. Revel in the sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing the packing process from start to finish.
Challenge yourself, with multiple objectives to hit that will require you to think strategically .Each level gives you a new packing challenge with different sizes, shapes, and space limits to work around. Can you beat the clock and achieve packing perfection?

Cute game. The story doesn't give many details but you're able to infer what's going on. I was dreading the bumpy road setting as many players hated it, but it wasn't that bad for me. I'm not sure if it was adjusted or it is just less bumpy in Sylvie's story. Had to stop playing because the motion sickness was crazy. This was my first packing game and I definitely recommend it.
This is a game I have waited to play for years. Having played it, I have some feedback. This game has potential. I played Jalopy, and wished the storage space in that game worked more like this. Combine the two games, and you have a perfect 10/10. As it is, it is fun, but falls short in small and unsatisfyingly irritating ways. Positives: The game is fun, looks nice and does a good job of environmental story telling. The physics engine and controls are remarkable. For a game where you are basically just cramming loose objects into a confined space it works unbelievably well... I have not encountered any issues where objects freak out and glitch through the map... BETHESDA. That being said: The Negatives: The scoring system is extremely unsatisfying. In order to get 3 stars on most missions you have to either: fit all the objects into a space without using part of that space, or: fit all the objects into the space with some objects in an un-optimal configuration (i.e. leaving a folding chair open). There is no world in which anyone would do this. It's fiddly (not fun fiddly), and immersion-breaking. The challenge goals REALLY need a live tracker, to show whether or not the EXTRA condition is met (while you are still loading objects). This would avoid the irritating situation where one object, buried deep in the back of the storage area, is one pixel over the height limit. You would be able to tell immediately if an object will cause one of the challenges to fail. This is a lot more fun than having to unpack and repack the entire level, just to hit the next bonus rating. The game can also get a bit choppy sometimes (possibly physics-related). I don't expect that with an 8 core processor and a 3080. Overall: I enjoyed this game and for the price it is more than worth picking up. Most of the levels are great. My advice for playing this and having the most fun is: try to pack the extra objects, but ignore 3-star bonus challenge. You will have more fun playing the game aiming for 2 stars.
Great puzzle game! Enjoyed a lot! :)
Eu achei a proposta do jogo super interessante, e a parte do puzzle é bem divertida.
I was hoping for a more relaxing, ocd-satisfying experience, like a reverse Unpacking, but as other reviewers have said: the optional objects and objectives are very counter-intuitive and frustrating, really ruining the experience. while they are optional and best ignored, as a completionist I find it very hard to ignore them. Luckily they resolved this issue with the bumpy ride mechanic, but even still, I don't think this game is for me.
♥♥♥♥ ass game can't even finish the rotation part of the tutorial
Le concept est sympa, mais certains niveaux sont inutilement complexifiés.
One Move Away is just fine, and that's really it. This is one of those games where I wish Steam had an option between a Yes or No. Overall, I wouldn’t call One Move Away a must-play, and I don’t think it’ll be cozy enough for everyone. But for me, it hit the right level of brain-dead, mindless gameplay that I needed after long days of real-life work. It can be frustrating and janky at times, but when it works, it’s a nice little game to zone out with. The core idea is satisfying, and it scratches that same organizational itch as games like Unpacking, just with more of a spatial puzzle angle. The game has three storylines: Sylvie, Cam, and Ahmed; each with around 5–7 levels. It's not super long, took me around 6 hours to beat, but there’s enough here to get into the rhythm of it. That being said, the physics can be pretty wonky, which seems to be one of the most common complaints from other reviews, and I definitely felt that too. It has that unrefined edge that reminds you it's a low-budget indie game. Sometimes objects don’t behave quite how you expect, and that can make the game more frustrating than relaxing. Not to mention that there are moments where you'll fully pack a truck, realize you don’t have enough space, and have to start pulling everything out again. Depending on your patience level, that might be satisfying problem-solving or just annoying. The options are also very barebones. Graphically, you only really get two settings: “visuals quality” and “performance.” It’s not a dealbreaker, but it adds to the feeling that this is a smaller indie release.
