About

The Queen of the Old World calls upon you! As Her Majesty's domain expands, we require a capable administrator to guide Her latest colonies to prosperity. We will provide you with ships, colonists, and other tools necessary to tame these wild, virgin lands, and turn them into a prosperous colonial enterprise, all under the Queen's watchful eye.
Naturally, the Crown will expect you to share the bounty of these new lands, pay your taxes on time, and continue expanding the boundaries of Her Majesty’s colonial possessions. Obedience may earn you rewards, but refusing to pay your dues or worse, declaring independence, will have dire consequences.
So, governor. Are you ready to colonize One More Island?

You are called upon to explore the frontiers of Her Majesty’s colonial empire, claim territory, then exploit it to its fullest to gain riches for the throne!
Set sail for the New World to plant Her flag and establish a new colony - as well as ensuring it thrives.
Each exploration is never the same, thanks to a world map generated dynamically from a combination of hand-crafted map elements.
Customize the challenge to your tastes, adjusting island size, land fertility, amount of natural resources and more, to make it as easy or as hard as desired.

As governor, you're in charge. Plan out the colony, take care of your residents, and turn a small outpost into an overseas metropolis bustling with commerce!
Construct the buildings you want: The freeform building designer allows fine-tuning workshop placement and colonist’s paths to optimize the holy colony plan.
Look after the colonists' needs. Happy colonists work harder and faster, growing your, err, Her Majesty's colonial empire.
Harness this legendary colony and these dedicated colonists to create production chains, producing necessary goods on the spot and growing the community.

There's always One More Island to conquer. Explore the world, find new spots to establish more colonies, then tie them together into a self-sufficient network: An empire of your own making.
Build a new fleet to explore the archipelago, claim new islands for your domain, then link them together with overseas trade routes.
Optimize your production chains and increase their complexity to create entire industries independent of the Old World.
Research new ways to develop your fledgling colony into a New World superpower. Each civilization tier brings with it new challenges, new requirements - and new opportunities.

The Queen wants her share of New World's bounty. Taxes are expected, as is ordained. But there's always another option, one that your colonists might look upon favorably.
Manage your reputation at the royal court. Pay your taxes on time and meet their expectations or...
Do you dare to commit the unthinkable? Do you dare to disobey the monarch?
Do you dare try to form a new nation, breaking free of Old World tyranny?
Well? Where do you stand?

This game right here shows exactly why I don't write reviews for games till after I complete them. The game starts as a decent enough city builder (or as I like to call this one British Empire simulator) but once you reach research tier 3 and 4 the bugs, bad designs, frustrating elements and lack of quality of life features really start to show just how bad this game actually is. Just to give you an idea I will list some (by far not all) of the things that are wrong:

music randomly stops working when playing on high speed on certain islands.
Workers randomly stop moving and doing anything till you reload the game.
Unless you order the items in trade routes in a specific order they just wont work.
Managing trade routes is generally painful because of really bad UI.
There is no good storage options for your resources and you have to set up settings for storage crates one by one (you can easily have 100s of those).
The pathing of the workers is really stupid and except for being able to prioritize certain building tasks (once again one by one, mind you) there is no way to really tell them what to priorities or anything like that.
Selecting times that are on top of each other is annoying.
Resource balancing is terrible and you constantly keep running out of space on the islands trying to make things work.
There is no way to tell specific workers to not take some resources from the market that are not required for those workers but are for other ones that will die without them.
The queen and her taxes makes you wanna go find her castle and slap her.
The game legitimately made me mad (and I am not someone to rage at video games) and I am very much looking forward to never playing it again. Unless you are planing to only play the game for 3 hours please just don't bother with it at all. While the idea of this one with the island is interesting there is just so many better city builders/colony sim out there. Works without any issues on Linux with Proton (9.0-4).
Like many settlement games, the settlers eventually stop delivering materials and everyone starves to death. As soon as you upgrade to tier 2, it's over. There's no more fish. There's no more bread. Nothing can be replaced in any of the tier 2 zones. It's almost like you need to keep all the tier 1 zones to feed new tier 2 zones that used to be tier 1 zones, etc, which is utterly stupid. I'd refund the ♥♥♥♥ out of this garbage if I didn't pass the refund limit by 0.2 hours trying to make this ♥♥♥♥ game work.
I love the concept of this game, like I do most management / colony sim games. The zoning and buildings required approach is refreshing and interesting, and the graphics are cosy as heck. But it's not a colony sim. There's no housing for your workers, no real needs that they have aside from "buying" them with bread and then putting them on a workspace. No further interactions, no personalities, they're just resources. That makes this more of a factory sim than a colony sim. The zoning thing isn't logical / obvious all the time, for example, a windmill has to be put indoors? There's still some work to do on the entire thing, as it doesn't feel ready to be a full release.
I don't think this game should be marketed as a colony sim - there is no housing, no generations, etc. This is a resource management game, and that's it. And once you get the hang of the resource management part, you're scrolling on your phone while the game runs in the background, just waiting for some sort of popup that you have to deal with. For example, when all of your workers die for no reason, and now you have to replace them with new workers. BUT each worker starts at Tier 1 and must be upgraded to tiers 2, 3, and 4, which require resources for every single one of them. So you're constantly having to maintain enough resources to upgrade every villager - and at one point I had over 300 villagers. This would be fine if they died one at a time from something I could prevent. But I would have TONS of food, markets next to every building (because they will starve to death walking from their workplace to the market if it's not close enough) and it wouldn't matter, they'd just all drop dead at the same time. What is it? Old age? I "purchased" them all at the same time, so that's why they drop dead at the same time? Who knows. And not all resources can be found on your main island, so you have to expand to other islands, which basically is a way for the game to make it last longer because you have to start from scratch, and now have to start stockpiling twice the amount of resources, then three times the amount, four times the amount, for each additional island. BUT you get ships! That will transfer goods! But only if you put each thing you want sent in the exact right spot, otherwise nothing happens, everything breaks, and they start throwing items overboard. Anyway, if you love making spreadsheets and coming up with efficient ways of managing resources, this might be the game for you. But probably not for $20. I'd wait until it went on sale, for sure.

"One More Island" jest eksploracyjną, strategiczną grą, w której budujemy swoją cywilizację.
You know it's bad when the workers in dwarf fortress are more responsive than these. The UI is awful (especially for trade routes), workers sometimes refuse to pick up goods and bring them to the markets (lost in t3 because I "ran out" of cider despite having 800 stockpiled with workers refusing to move it). I wish I could refund this despite getting it on heavy discount.
