On Rusty Trails

On Rusty Trails is a very "Black Pants Studio feeling" game. The experience, both visuals and sound are really pretty and very enjoyable. It is arguably the best part of the game. Which isn't to say the gameplay is bad. The platforming is very fun and has enough mechanics to stay intersting throughout. Similarly to their mobile game "Blown Away" (which sadly you can not even buy the full game of anymore) it is a lot about timing. The enviroment shifts when you, the player activate either of your two colour states. Which then causes some platforms to collaps and enviroments become dangerous while the ones of the other colour becomes safe. The levels lend themselfs to quick runs/speedrunning, which is encouraged by a leaderboard. The difficulty is kind of confusing. It switches between flowy, fast levels that go over easily and levels that take much longer to figure out. Especially if this isn't your core genre. The challenge is not the problem, it just doesn't seem to follow a clear concept and some sections got very frustrating out of the blue. If you like platforming that leaves a lot of room for "cleaning up" runs to get faster every time and to perfect, if only for the steam archivements, this game is for you. But due to the difficulty spikes it isn't really a game to lean back when you are a bit tired and just want flowy, fast and satisfying movement to wind down. You need to be ready to be challenged from time to time.

amazing platformer for steam deck

Te digo una cosa; posiblemente no sea un mal juego pero no hay nada me que incite a seguir jugándolo. Los controles son precisos, lo cual se agradece. Pero no me ha terminado de convencer. No aporta nada.

Fast paced platforming game which is pretty enjoyable . It's not a life changing experience but it's worth the time. Absolutely recomended. Juego de plataformas en que la rapidez es clave. También has de ser veloz al cambiar entre los dos trajes y sus peculiaridades respectivas. En definitiva, un juego rápido, de pantallas cortas. De dificultad variable (pero totalmente accesible) y momentos de estresante desafío. Sencillo pero adictivo y divertido. Recomendado, por supuesto. A jugar!

The game is not very special, I could even say similar to a free phone game, but there are some things that I appreciate. The idea is interesting, I also appreciate the difficulty of the game. It is not very long and the story is not very special, but the idea is not bad and for the price I paid for the game, one dollar, I can say that it was worth it... but for the price on Steam it is not worth buying
