About
5 years have passed since the victory of the Coalition of United Colonies over the Omnigans. But the fragile times of peace and prosperity were again disrupted. Once CUC allies, The Hellhounds now unleash chaos and violence throughout the galaxy. They will stop at nothing in order to gain control of Omnibion, a powerful ancient device created by the Omnigans.
Become Jaeden, ace pilot of the late “Icarus” squad and strap yourself in as you again fire up the mighty engines of the A.A.V.G. gunship. Its immense firepower and the ability to rapidly transform between a space jet and a flying mech make it the humanity’s most advanced fighting machine.
Take full advantage of its destructive potential and put your pilot skills to the test against the incoming Hellhound hordes in various parts of the galaxy. Diverse mission objectives will take you to the vacuum of space, lava deserts or underwater worlds of distant planets. Load up your guns and upgrade your mech as you fight to save the galaxy once and for all!
Omnibion War takes its inspiration from classic on-rails shooters of the past such as Aces of the Galaxy, Panzer Dragoon and the Star Fox series.
Throwback to the simpler times when shoot’em ups and arcade shooters were ruling the market and allowed us to spent countless hours both in arcades and at home, blasting our way through increasingly difficult enemies.
Omnibion War is an indie game through and through, developed by a 2-men studio from Chile as a passion project and homage to the aforementioned times in the 90’ and very early 2000’.
Use the transforming abilities of your A.A.V.G. (Automatic Artillery of Variable Geometry)
Transform between a space jet or a mech, choosing the most comfortable way to face the Hellhound chords
Take down thousands of enemies and mighty bosses, both in space and on various planets
Complete various mission objectives – protect, destroy, rescue and more
Gain experience points to access new weapons, upgrades and special attacks
Enjoy the retro vibe in two game modes – rail shooter and free flight
Challenging difficulty with steep but rewarding learning curve
Just saying, but I do have a curator page. If you like my remarks about games, you can find more of them here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44130985-TDP%27s-Gaming-Escapades
You know, it's pretty rare for me to just quit a game without even finishing the first level. And when that happens, there's something very wrong with that game. Maybe the game has such a bad performance that I decide my time is not worth trying to fix it, or it plays so awfully that I decide doing anything else is more beneficial. Omnibion War belongs to the second group. Now, I know that I'm being too harsh on a game that is supposed to be a passion project, but that's how I am. I am pretty short fused and will get pretty angry with a game if it proves to be way too problematic to the point of being unplayable. Allow me to explain what went wrong and what I found in the 18 minutes I spent playing this game so you can see what I mean.

The user interface is simply awful. Not only it's aesthetically unpleasant to look at, but it doesn't even work correctly. I have to click on the screen once to activate mouse support and be able to use it, and sometimes clicking on specific buttons causes the cursor to jump around the screen. The keyboard does not work at all. And despite the game supporting a controller, you are unable to use it in the menus for some reason. For reference, I was using an Xbox 360 controller.
There is no rebind feature in the game at all. If you don't like the controls, you cannot change them unless you try to do it through a third-party solution like Steam Input API.
The game never respects your customized graphical settings and will switch to its defaults whenever it feels like it, even if it's something as basic as quitting to the main menu from in-game.
As you start playing the game, you will notice the game never tells you anything about your health bar in its tutorial. And when you actually start playing, you will not even know where your health bar is! If there IS any health bar on the HUD to begin with!
There are two gameplay styles in the game which it switches between them during a level. The first is the railshooter segments which are incredibly boring and unrewarding, and the second is the open/free roam segments where the game lets you fly in any direction, which honestly feel jarring and nigh unplayable due to the game not allowing you to change movement sensitivity.
Despite having open/free roam areas, the game lacks a radar and leaves you open to off-screen attacks.
In absence of a radar, the game forces you to use a horrible lock on system instead, which just focuses the camera on one enemy while still allowing you to freely move around. This makes for a lot of confusion as you will desperately try to get your plane to fly correctly while using it.
Your aircraft has two formations: Plane and Mech. And the mech formation is honestly pretty lackluster and clunky as it's very slow and doesn't give you a lot of good defensive options, making you very vulnerable against enemy attacks.
Many of the defensive maneuvers are honestly useless, and you might trigger them by complete accident. In absence of a key rebind feature, it makes for a lot of headaches. Not to mention all of them are also bound to a stamina bar (why does a ship even have a stamina bar anyway?) so sometimes you might not be able to dodge away in time.
And finally, the game tries to tell a story in middle of the gameplay, with dialogues appearing on the screen in a very small font size as you are engaging with the enemies. So if you are even remotely interested in following the story, you're going to have a bad time.
Let me say this again: All of what you just read so far, was my experiences and observations during 18 minutes of playtime, on a blind first playthrough. And if a game is THIS problematic and lacking in this little amount of time, I dread to imagine how bad it can get later on. So the best course of action is to not continue playing the game and write a review detailing everything I saw, so other people can know what to expect and avoid the game.
TL;DR
The game is simply way too problematic with a lot of critical flaws and shortcomings that basically guarantee a miserable gameplay experience. Avoid the game at all costs and get literally anything else.

fun its like a rail shoter from the old arcade that i used to go a little clunky the open mecha control but fun and for a good price =)
I gave the game a try and honestly I am enjoying it. I'm still learning how to properly use evasive maneuvers, but a well timed evasion in the fighter mode does wonders for shaking off missiles. The game definitely makes you think on your feet, your foes will show you no mercy and if you sit still the enemies will tear you to shreds Honestly that keeps the game from feeling too easy. In my honest opinion this is a pretty fun game!
I'm enjoy playing old-school style shoot'em up rail shooter indie game and not bad at all and the only con here is the control on free movement is kinda hard to control it
