3/5 Stars Olija was an okay game overall, and I did enjoy my time with it for the most part. In fact, I absolutely loved the first half. Unfortunately, the second half started to feel repetitive and a bit boring for me. The gameplay stays very consistent throughout the entire experience, and you don't really unlock many new abilities or mechanics as the game progresses. You do find new weapons, but most of them didn't feel meaningful or game-changing. Some kind of XP or skill progression system would have gone a long way in keeping things fresh and rewarding all the way through. The story was also just kind of meh for me. A lot of it is buried behind cryptic dialogue and lore that can be difficult to follow. There were several moments where I felt like I was just moving from place to place without really understanding why. On top of that, the game doesn't introduce many puzzles, chase sequences, side activities, or new mechanics to break up the constant cycle of exploration and combat. Be prepared to do pretty much the same thing from start to finish. That said, I still recommend Olija. Maybe your attention span is better than mine LOL. I ended up getting bored and didn't finish the game, but I still put about 7.4 hours into it and genuinely enjoyed a good portion of that time. My opinion definitely won't apply to everyone. If you enjoy atmospheric indie games and don't mind repetitive gameplay loops, you'll probably have a good time, but if you're someone who gets bored easily and needs variety to stay engaged, this game may start to lose you halfway through like it did me. Maybe wait on a sale.
Olija

✅ Recommandé — MajiNote : A

📌 Contexte

This has to be one of my favorite games ever when it comes to story. There isn't much dialogue but the visual story telling and little to no dialogue is more than enough. It should really get adapted into an anime or a movie. Like in the trailer. There's so much potential to have it expanded upon. As for the gameplay it is a very barebones Metroidvania. Which is fine. I don't like getting lost like in Hollowknight. Simple game however great story.
nice
This game taught me if you can teleport, don't teleport to somewhere you don't know or you will get stuck forever.
