Greak: Memories of Azur has gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and a calm fantasy atmosphere that feels consistently charming throughout the game. The audio fits the world well, although the soundtrack itself is not especially memorable. The gameplay introduces a unique concept by letting players control three characters with different abilities, and the combat is simple but still enjoyable for most of the journey. Unfortunately, the multi-character system also becomes the game’s biggest weakness . Controlling several characters at once can feel awkward and distracting, causing much of the difficulty to come from managing the controls rather than the combat or puzzles themselves, even if some late-game puzzles are genuinely challenging and time-consuming. The decision to end the game when a single character dies only adds even more unnecessary frustration. Exploration can also become exhausting due to the map design often lacking clear direction or detailed guidance, making navigation feel more tedious than rewarding. On top of that, many side quests feel meaningless because their rewards have little to no real impact on gameplay. Some items seem like they should be useful in combat, but end up feeling unnecessary or even counterproductive since the game can be completed just fine without them. As a result, side content often hurts the pacing more than it adds to the overall experience. Narratively, the theme of family and sibling bonds has emotional potential, but the rushed pacing and short story prevent the characters and their relationships from leaving a strong emotional impact. Overall, Greak: Memories of Azur is a beautiful and creative game with a strong artistic identity, but its execution often struggles to deliver a consistently smooth, rewarding, and emotionally engaging experience.
I really don't like the way you control multiple characters in this game. Since they don't "stick" together perfectly they start to fall out of sync quite quickly and it becomes annoying as this can lead to an instant game over and reloading to your last save point. Since your non-controlled party member isn't immune it also means they take unnecessary damage. The map in this game is also terrible as it's essentially useless only showing the names of each zone and whether you are in a zone or not. This makes traversal annoying. An interesting idea hampered by design decisions that actively make the game less enjoyable.
The concept of this game is fantastic, I love having multiple playable characters and maneuvering them at the same time. In practice, the puzzles work very well, they're fun and intuitive. The movement and combat don't work quite as well as it can be tricky to manage everyone if they're not in the exact same place, but the mimic power to control all three at once keeps that from being too difficult. I love the characters and the story, and I enjoyed the gameplay mechanics! My biggest complaint is just that the game is shorter than I expected. It took me just under 10 hours to 100% the game across two playthroughs, so it's probably best to wait for a sale before buying this one. The art is gorgeous and the game is good fun, I recommend checking it out! Hopefully it'll get a sequel
Buen juego. Recomendado.
Greak: A Game I Forgot Greak follows the titular character as they set off into the world, attempting to find their siblings whilst helping to prepare a village to escape an ever present rot that is occurring within the world. The story itself is kind of odd as you find yourself midway into the conflict and ultimately you're not fighting against it, you're more focused on fleeing. This makes the story feel less impactful as there's no instigation, and no real conclusion. It feels like a Part 2 with no game prior and no game after either. The Gameplay is also kind of lacking. You have two components in the game. Combat, which is very rough. And platforming/Puzzles which are much better designed. The combat is very flat but varies depending on the character you are controlling. Unfortunately, no matter which character you are controlling, nothing really feels satisfying on this front. Even the bosses feel lacking and just unfinished. Something particularly annoying as you progress is that each chatacter, regardless of whether you're controlling them, can get hit or hurt from hazards etc. This means you're juggling 3 health bars and sometimes it's hard to see who gets hit. The kicker however, is that if one of your party dies, you have to go back to your save. There is a potion that can help negate this, but overall it's just not good. The actual puzzle/platforming elements are pretty good. Sometimes it can be a little clunky but overall each of the party adds something to the group, whether that's a higher jump, a shield, or better swimming. You can also hold doors for each other or drag down weighted elements for example. This is much better but unfortunately the game runs out of steam not long after you get the third character and spends too long with just the first character meaning you don't really get to experience much of the best elements in the game. Initially I had played this and dropped it, not quite remembering why. Having come back to it, and gone through the whole game, it's just a very style over substance game. Whoever worked on the art should be commended, but the art deserves a much better game. All in all, if you're looking for a game that features multiple characters with different abilities, just play Trine. You get more game, better puzzles, and it feels better to play.
O jogo é muito bonito, fala sobre resiliência e esse laço de irmandade. Amei a história.
Story nya pendek juga ternyata, mekanik nya biasa aja sih tapi cukup buat nemenin waktu kosong
Маленький шедевр, в 6к разрешении через Dldsr +Rtx Hdr смотрится хорошо. Озвучка, рисовка, вайб, все отлично, по скидке стоит своих денег. A small masterpiece, it looks great in 6K resolution via DLDSR + RTX HDR. The voice acting, the art, the vibe—everything is excellent. It's worth the price at a discount.
I really enjoyed this game!! Lovely animations, fun puzzles and fights, and an intriguing story! Well-worth playing through, in my opinion, and something I will be replaying to explore areas and complete challenges I didn't get to on a first playthrough. Good game.
