This is the first review of a game I have left in 10 years. This game is a waste even on sale. dont bother.
I gave Old School RPG a good shot, but there isn't a whole lot on offer here. It's exactly what it says on the tin, with no frills or unique features. Well, not quite exactly what it says. Given the Steam description includes Wizardry 8 among its inspirations, I was hoping for at least some recognizable influence from Wizardry 8. Unfortunately, the only similarity is that it's a free roam blobber, at least for the 7 hours and slightly over 2 zones I played. There's no sci fi elements, combat has no form of positioning (party order doesn't even matter), and equipment is all basic -- no chances to poison, drain stamina, or instakill here. Classes get specific abilities at specific levels, and skills are increased one per level and are fairly limited. The game is overall janky and it gets tedious quickly. Room layouts repeat not only between, but also within, dungeons. Enemies play their aggro sound effects multiple times in quick succession when approaching, which gets really obnoxious. The UI is quite awkward. There's no charming dialogue or weird quests. With all of these drawbacks, I needed some system to latch on to, but there just wasn't anything for me here. So, unfortunately, I can't recommend the game in general. That said, if you just really want a new, very basic blobber dungeon crawler and don't mind some jank, it may still be worth checking out.
I was looking for a lite RPG to pass the time this past week. And this game fit the bill perfectly! It's a little janky and there is some bugginess but that aside, very enjoyable. I totally recommend for those who played RPGS from the 80's and 90's. The pace of the game is also quite nice such as leveling and completion of quests.
NICE GAME
ottimo gioco rpg abbastanza bilanciato nell'avanzamento. Vivamente consigliato per gli appassionati di dungeons, mostri, magie, e combattimenti.
Quests are more challenging than most rpgs
good game
Looks like Everquest from 1999, performs like Crysis upon release, but for me it was the wolves with a grown man making wolf sounds.
Fairly charming overall. Some annoying minor bugs tho.
