A fantastic platformer with a very unique aesthetic, and some really challenging levels. A really nice difficult ramp, where things are introduced before throwing more of them at you. I really love the sound track as well. A good use of respawn points so the levels don't become too frustrating which I appreciated as I'm not great at these types of games. Defo worth the price! Great game.
I really find this game charming, and I am not usually a fan of puzzle platforming type games. Aesthetic is fantastic along with the sound effects and soundtrack, really digging the retro wave theme or Tron vibe, as others have said. The scaling of difficulty for each level is perfect, I am not very good at puzzle games and get frustrated quite easily. There are nice 'save points' so you're not booted back to the start of the level, which is just ideal for tricky sections. Your little sidekick following you around is so witty, really wonderful writing. It mocks you enough when you fail but not to the point where you want to quit. The only criticism I have is that the jumping can be a bit janky at times (I use controller). I still don't quite know how to figure out the floating green sections (might just be me though!). Overall, fantastic little game. Highly recommend it. Looking forward to playing more!
Brilliant game
This is a properly brilliant platformer, the writing is witty and just furiating enough that you want to beat the level out of pure spite to the little assistant, the levels are well designed and just hard enough that you get a great feeling of accomplishment when you finish it. You should definitely give it a go :)
My mate made this, wooo! He's been working on it for a while so glad to see it finally released on PC *and* consoles..! AOAO is a level-based platformer with a Tron-esque aesthetic where you see each level form in front of you as you move. Each level is pretty short, sometimes you get a tricky one and have to replay it a quite a few times but you eventually figure out the timings you need to beat it. If you like traditional reaction based platform games then give this one a try. The teleport and regeneration effects looks cool! :)
Worth the 5 year wait
A pretty interesting platforming game where every level have an interesting challange, kepping a good learning/difficulty curve. The only thing I didn't like was the background sometimes and some animations don't fit at a 100%, but thats a very personal opinion. Here you have some footage of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKemQp_K0Tw
OAOA is a fun side scrolling platform game with a nice bit of light philosophy to the story (think "Thomas Was Alone" meets "Superliminal"). The graphics hold together well and feel well art directed, it all feels coherent, and there are some cool effects like the levels drawing onto the screen each time you move to the next. It feels very nice to play, a little floaty on the jump and sometimes you have to be really careful on pixel-perfect platforms, but it generally feels fair and if you die its your fault and not the game. Possibly the most stand-out element is the music which is a very good electro soundtrack and you'll find yourself hummin along in your head as you play. All in all its a fun game and worth picking up for the price. NOTE: I've played it on Steam Deck and its pretty much perfect on there.
