Feels kinda strange to see so many positive reviews. The thing that bothers me the most, is the fact that there isn't really a story. You start at a magic college, pass a few days, take some classes, do a girl and the game is over. Combined with long meaningless dialogues, every cliché you find in a cheap highschool or college movie made the game in my opinion dull, boring and a drag to read through. Aside from that the artwork is good, style is good, backgrounds are awesome (most of them), character design is really good and the music is good too. Achievements and a gallery are missing.

Увы, в игре нет ни достижений, ни галереи, из-за чего сложно понять, пройдена ли игра на 100% или всё-таки остался незавершённый рут. Визуал в игре красивый, и все выглядят мило. В целом, качество артов в новелле, как для 2018 года, вполне нормальное. Иногда ещё мелькают "ивентовые" арты, качество которых заметно выше, чем в самой новелле. Самый главный минус игры в том, что у неё действительно завышенный ценник. Однако со скидкой в 70 или 80% смотрится уже лучше. Если читать всё самому, то потребуется около 2 часов. Если спидранить все концовки, то займёт примерно 30 минут. 魔法学園を舞台にしたノベルゲーム。 日本語非対応、無修正パッチあり（公式が配布）。 テキスト量が結構多く、まともに読むとすごく時間がかかる。 エンディングが全部で18個、選択肢は40個以上などボリューム大。 ガイドに全エンディングの見かたがあるので、気になるところだけ見たい人はそちらを。 立ち絵はやたら濃いがイベントＣＧはアニメ風できれいなものが多い。 特にHシーンは柔らかいタッチと淡いトーンが美しく、日本向けのＣＧが好きな人でも楽しめる。 不満点は価格のわりにＣＧが少ない、ＣＧモードがない、そして攻略できないサブキャラがいること。 エンディング数も多いがバッドエンド専用のＣＧもなさそうで、バッドエンドは単なる外れルートと見える。 ストアページの濃い絵だけで敬遠するのは勿体ないが、もろもろ考えると少しお高め。 セールで安くなったときか、ゲームの雰囲気に強烈に惹かれたら。

Oakwood Academy Of Spells And Sorcery is an adventure visual novel both developed and published by Tranquil Studios. You take on the role of Thomas Middleton, a first year student with aspirations to become the worlds greatest mage. Getting settled, making friends as well as enemies and finding yourself in all manner of unique circumstances all while you try to maintain your studies and attempt to master your craft. Follow Thomas on this intriguing once in a lifetime journey as he tries to make a name for himself at the Oakwood Academy. [h1]PRESENTATION[/h1] The visual presentation of this novel is truly fantastic. The illustrations are some of the best that I've seen so far on Steam filled with wonderfully bright and beautiful colors. Also, the artstyle steps away from the heavily prevalent manga-style that so many visual novels tend to feature which is quite refreshing. Don't get me wrong because I love that style but it's nice to see something different every once in awhile and this title does not dissapoint in that aspect. Moving on...I've never been able to "get" into Harry Potter but what little I know and have seen of it this visual novel seems to be heavily inspired by in my opinion. Therefore, fans of those books and movies may get a kick out of reading this visual novel, likewise, they may despise it for resembling that particular series so closely who knows? With that said, the characters facial expressions change depending on mood so that really helps with immersion as you read through the storyline. Also, the soundtrack is amazing and really blends in well with the mystic narrative. Sadly there are no ambient sound effects present which would additionally contribute to the immersion factor, however, you are faced with a number of decisions to make over the course of the branching story so that does help. I also have to mention that this novel is not for the faint of heart as you are introduced to some rather adult oriented situations and very spicy language from time to time. Nevertheless, Oakwood Academy Of Spells And Sorcery manages to put forth a truly brilliant presentation for the captivating narrative in this wonderful and slightly adult oriented visual novel experience. [h1]CONCLUSION[/h1] This V.N. was a fantastic, no pun intended, read with it's "fantasy" inspired setting, terrific soundtrack and eyecatching visuals. I did find the story highly predictable in some places yet it was entertaining nonetheless. Technically, other than a minor amount of typos in the dialogue I didn't have any problems with this title whatsoever. Another small issue though would be the lack of a C.G. gallery seeing as how the artwork in this visual novel is so spectacular. On the plus side, replayablility is high due to the branching narrative and multiple endings depending on the choices that you make. As far as options go, sadly there currently are no Steam Achievements to hunt down or Steam Trading Cards to collect. The title does have the basic visual novel options for sound/music volume and text speed however. In conclusion, if you're a fan of visual novels, magic and fantasy based adventures then I think that you'll very much enjoy Oakwood Academy Of Spells And Sorcery so this V.N. is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to fans of those genres!

This is a really fun visual novel that features some colorful characters and great artwork. The game is genuinely entertaining and funny, and the girls are all unique in their own way. Another thing I like is where each girl doesn't feel like a base model with simple changes. This is an issue with many East and West VNs. You can run through this game in just a few hours, and I felt like that was a good amount of time to spend in it. My only real complaints are lack of a gallery for the artwork scenes, and I wish the bad endings felt a little more fleshed out than re-hashing dates from other girls. Overall, I highly recommend this one, and if you want the goods, just get the patch... it's free. lol

Рисовка в игре средненькая, даже иногда встречается ниже среднего по качеству. Но в постельных сценах картинка выглядит гораздо лучше. Как так получилось!? Наверное, художники и разработчики решили, что показать красивых женщин гораздо важнее. Взгляните правде в глаза, вы бы не купили игру ради текстов про “Хогвартс для взрослых” ;). Кстати, о текстах. Если у изображений качество хромает, то с сюжеткой всё нормально. В игре 17 концовок! В одних сюжетных ветках встречаются персонажи, которые не встречаются в других, а варианты ответов значительно влияют на ход событий. Главный минус - нет CG галереи и достижений, т.е. непонятно сколько ещё концовок осталось открыть и никак не посмотреть на открытые сценки, только начинать игру заново :(. З.Ы. Чтобы сделать игру без цензуры, создайте в папке Game пустой файл uncensoredoakwood.rpy . Если вы всё сделали правильно, то в главном меню появится надпись.

All of the routes are very short. Nice art. There is an adult content patch. Wish they had longer more involved stories for each girl. It is like you are just getting to know your character and ---story over. Hope they have a sequel to tell the rest of the story.

Цена конечно конская, артов кот наплакал. Все концовки делаются за 37 минут ))) Но дизлайкнуть хентайную игрушку в стиме не позволяет религия.

I agree with the rest of the reviewers- the game is pretty short. It is like an introduction to this world full of interesting characters and lore and then bam- the story ends. I would really wish to spend more time in the world and get to know more about both it and the characters. The only other mild complaint is about the discrepancy in art quality. I love this game and only wish it would be longer. It is a good mix of interesting ideas, action, humor, and romance. I am really hoping for a sequel.
