O.R.B: Off-World Resource Base

В своё время очень любил эту игру и кучу раз перепроходил, страясь захватить как можно больше капитальных кораблей врага, из-за чего постоянно был в минусах по экипажу. Игре уже, наверное, лет 20, но она мне всё ещё нравится.

What a horrible piece of petrified garbage! I played this ♥♥♥♥ back then and revisited it now and both times i came to the same conclusion. Mechanically it`s as shallow as a cup of puke. Find resources. Then choose from several types of ships that scale in size and power and only building the largest ships is viable as small trash gets wiped by a single large craft. You click enemy ships and pray to your deity of choice that this time pathfinding won`t get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by your own troops and 2 rocks (seriously the worst pathfinding i`ve ever seen, dragoons from Starcraft 1 will do a better job). The campaign missions are meh, just playing on a piece of space with some asteroids randomly sprinkled on it, then move on to the next mission with the same basic setup but a bit more technologies unlocked. The first campaign is bearable and mostly easy and i realized why in the opposite faction`s campaign. The second campaign is annoying and spikes in difficulty immensely as this time your ships are severely weaker compared to the same tier of enemy crafts. Literally your 20 ships of higher tier can spend up to a minute to dispatch a single enemy ship of lower tier, i`m not even joking. Higher tier enemy ship will destroy seemingly any amount of same or lower tier ships you send at it. I seriously doubt that it`s even possible to beat this campaign and i pity anyone who even tries. The story is kind of interesting and it`s a shame it has to be in such a terrible game. If you have a retro space itch to scratch just play Haegemonia or Homeworld, they are vastly superior to this crap.
