About
Nuclear Option is a combat flight game set on a dynamic and realistic battlefield of the near future. Use an array of advanced weapons to change the course of battles as you intercept bombers, duel fighters, fly under the radar, or unleash the fury of nuclear weapons on enemy formations.
Each aircraft comes with an immersive cockpit featuring a situational awareness HUD, identifying nearby targets and threats. Aircraft can be flown with various controllers or with a mouse-controlled "virtual joystick", requiring no special hardware.
Experience realistic flight dynamics, with stalls, spins and g-force effects fully implemented, as each aircraft is composed of up to 50 individually simulated physics parts . A highly detailed damage model means that the condition of each part affects the way your aircraft flies.
Build your own missions using the included mission editor, and then fly your mission solo or with friends in PVP or PVE multiplayer combat.

Coming from war thunder and DCS, this game has a good combination of realism with fun. The vehicles are futuristic meaning it allows an easier flight model and weapons usage. As an example, learning how radars works can take a bit of time - but in this game you can just lock and fire. Notching missiles is also nice and easy because it tells you where to fly. Overall very good game
Dude this game is awesome and I've genuinely loved playing this, even solo it is very enjoyable and the dev team is amazing with the patches and updates. I personally cant wait to see where they take this game because it has such high potential and is already amazing, Love you all working on this game!! P.S. these are my specs and i run the game well above 80fps no matter what.
A very fun blend of realistic flight and weapons physics (for aircraft in the future setting) with matches and missions that stay engaging throughout the whole match. The devs seem cool and they appreciate their playerbase. It's fairly easy to mod (beyond what the steam workshop offers) too, and there's a fairly active modding community.
Nuclear Option is a game that WAS incredibly fun and engaging. Combining a realistic flight and damage model with arcade controls and missions is a winning combination that I have honestly gotten a ton of fun out of. The issue arising is that the developers seem very keen on going down a path that is going to end up with the game playing itself. Each update recently seems to introduce new weaponry that takes away from the players actually playing the game. First was the addition of the "Piledriver" - a beyond-the-horizon ballistic missile that has a nuclear variant, which are spammed ad-nauseum by both AI and players alike, resulting in anything beyond the earliest stages of a match devolving into heavy bombers taking off, launching fire and forget ballistic missiles from just outside the friendly airfield, landing/rearming, and repeating until the match has ended. The following update introduced stationary ground-based launchers that now sit behind the front lines and launch the above-mentioned missiles over and over again. As soon as the match starts, a timer begins that when it hits 0, results in both sides launchers lobbing 16+ nuclear ballistic missiles. What this means is that you have roughly 10-15 minutes of actual back and forth engagements before the entire map is vaporized leaving each side with 1 or 2 functional airfields, leaving the rest of the map glassed by nuclear fire. Is this kind of warfare "realistic"? Probably. Is it fun for the player? Not really. "Just defend against them" you say! Unfortunately, the only defense against these are ground based radar SAM sites that often as not fail to launch any interceptor missiles, and are typically overwhelmed if they do actually launch. Attempting to defeat these ballistic missiles using radar guided A2A missiles launched from an aircraft has a pitifully low success rate, as they are simply not fast or maneuverable enough to successfully intercept the incoming nuclear ordinance. This makes the player feel as if they have little to no agency over anything actually happening at this stage in the match. All of the above results in a gameplay loop that consists of the following: 1. Watch as both yours and the enemies airfields are glassed by the opening nuclear salvo 2. Attempt to bring repair vehicles to the airfield to repair and get hangars functional again 3. Watch that same airfield and the repair vehicles get nuked again by more un-defendable nuclear ballistic missiles 4. Return to step #2 Until the devs add a way to spawn more ground based interceptors, or add a dedicated A2A interceptor missile, I do not see how this loop is going to be broken. My current stance is that this game remains very fun, and has moments that are incredibly cinematic... It's just a shame that the game is starting to play itself, leaving players little to no ability to actually experience any of those moments after the first 15 minutes of a match. Overall I would still recommend Nuclear Option, just don't expect long tug-of-war matches where both sides are taking and losing ground like you used to have in the game's earlier versions.
flight sim + full scale battles + hellicopters to supersonic bombers + realistic offence/defence equipment. + PvE+PvP . ohh and you can drop nukes (^_^) (out runing the shockwave of a nuke by going super sonic never gets old..)
Fun balance between arcade and realism; Most missiles are fire and forget which I would prefer different locking tones and mechanics for IR/RADAR missiles. Unlimited replay-ability and pretty extensive external modding scene keeps the game fresh. really storage efficient and optimized game for a huge BANG for your BUCK + consistent updates. 9/10 exquisite game choice.
i like this game so much but is like a lot of years that is in pre alpha and a lot of mod arre fun but i like if they add more plane like tu160black jack and tu95 and su34 and su57 b52 and tornado pls add this aircraft for the next update if will you do it i will play this is game i have like 1500h
