About
Nuclear Option is a combat flight game set on a dynamic and realistic battlefield of the near future. Use an array of advanced weapons to change the course of battles as you intercept bombers, duel fighters, fly under the radar, or unleash the fury of nuclear weapons on enemy formations.
Each aircraft comes with an immersive cockpit featuring a situational awareness HUD, identifying nearby targets and threats. Aircraft can be flown with various controllers or with a mouse-controlled "virtual joystick", requiring no special hardware.
Experience realistic flight dynamics, with stalls, spins and g-force effects fully implemented, as each aircraft is composed of up to 50 individually simulated physics parts . A highly detailed damage model means that the condition of each part affects the way your aircraft flies.
Build your own missions using the included mission editor, and then fly your mission solo or with friends in PVP or PVE multiplayer combat.

Open the game... 2 min to sortie... 2-5 min to get to the action.. miss every missil, except when you spam everything.. get spammed by thier 75+ SAM, 25 long range radar missils.. keep dodging until you die... repeat.. fun game or something..
Everything about this game is awesome EXCEPT FOR NUKES. It's probably too late at this point for the devs to remove them; I mean it's in the damn title. They just ruin the whole dynamic experience of conventional weapons/radar/ECM. So sad that there is so much good ruined by one stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapon. RIP

Игра просто шедевр, особенно с модами. 10 разряженных конденсаторов на Медузе из 10
Great simulation with easy to learn controls from keyboard to HOTAS. Decent performance, nice soundtrack, frequent content and QoL updates. Worth the price.
really good, perfect mix of wanting DCS but not the whole issue of spending 70+ USD on reading the keybind menu for few hours.
The tutorials lack substance and do little to prepare you for the brutal, unforgiving difficulty you'll face everywhere else in the game. If this game's target audience wasn't the hardcore/DCS crowd, you could have fooled me. Maybe deep down this game is as good as people say but even the most glowing praise I read prior to downloading readily admitted that overcoming the steep learning curve requires a significant time investment. I'm not going to say it's a bad game, but it's not what I'm looking for personally. Refunded.
One of the best combat flight sims. Pros: - No HOTAS or stick required, game is perfectly controlled with mouse and keyboard. I tried playing with stick and found that mouse flying is more enjoyable because you will use your keyboard\mouse for some functions anyway. - Good variety of missions and some gamemode-type missions. - Full workshop support. - Mission Editor - Good amount of airplanes with different roles, land and even naval units. - Good amount of weapons. - Great explosions (very important for every combat game!) - Good AI - Customizable mission. Weather, money, ai planes count. - You don't need to buy tons of dlc, new planes or maps. All content is included. Cons: - Only two maps. This is my main problem with this game. - Tutorials are kinda bad (but you don't really need them) - No tutorials for helicopters (and you need them) - There is missions for almost every plane, but they are showcases, not tutorial. You need to understand your plane role to coplete them - Performance can drop really easy. Many players, lots of wrecks or too many units - even one of this thing can drop your frames below 30 - No spawn queue. If all hangars are filled, you will get error message and have to press spawn button again - Laser guided missiles are horrible. No, i like the idea that you need to hold you target, but they fire on unlased targets and just fly away. - No target switch, you need to deselect and reselect targets. Really annoying if you flying tarantula in gunship mode. - Mission customization is lacking some crucial options, like turning off ballistic missile launchers - Electronic warfare on medusa is literally "select target and hold space" for 10 minutes. And it's really usefull thing, lol - No multicrew. Even if plane has 4 crewmans, you have to do this all alone. - Giving orders to units, selecting airbases and some other minor stuff sometimes not working. Not gamebreaking, but need more polish. Words to new players: - Don't expect to drop nukes left and right. They are limited and enemy base got pretty good anti-air defence. You need to destroy enemy anti-air defence first or learn some tricks. - This is NOT ACE COMBAT OR PROJECT WINGMAN. Your ammo is very limited and you will return to base to reearm really often. - This game require some learning and patience. Your rockets will not always hit, enemy rockets will often hit you. It's a simulator game, there is a lot of variables in play. You may wonder why flares are so useless and then after a couple of hours of pure suffering finally understand that you engine is really hot, and you should first drop your throttle, wait a sec for engine to cool off, and only then flare. - You can capture bases with UH-90 infantry squad. - You can deploy jacknifes to repair buildings or additional AA (and some other units) - You can't deploy ground units directly, but you can reserve or grab UH-90\tarantula, load it with units and deploy them instantly without even lift off. - You can give orders to ground units. Very usefull if you deploying them from helis.
Can't recommend due to faulty controls, even when assigned new buttons on my xbox control, can't target anything, can't control the pitch n yaw with with sticks as I can in 99% of all other flight games i've played. If it's made fully compatible with xbox control i'll change my review.
Не покупайте это если вас интересует пвп на общедоступных серверах. Однокнопочные убежища артод****ы на даркричах (с обоих сторон) будут руинить вам игры.
This is an OUTSTANDING combat (f)light sim for anyone wanting to dip their toes into blowing stuff up without getting overwhelmed with avionics. Perfect itch scratching for experienced simmers who want something quick who don't have hours to plan and fly a full sortie, or for folks on the fence who are intimidated by the complexity of "study" sims. It's fun, accessible, engaging, and the flight dynamics scratches that combat sim itch when you don't have hours to spare as required for higher fidelity sims for planning and mission flying. Personal note: My father (75) was an observer in the OV-10 Bronco for the USMC ('68-'91, retired). He introduced me to flight sims, and is guilty for my love, and all the money I've spent on them. I'm in my late 40s, and his reaction, and our talk, after I showed him this sim and his flying the Cricket is a new core memory... in my 40s! Keep it up Shockfront! You're making a great, accessible product for enthusiasts and casual combat simmers alike!
