Casual + Old-School + Roguelike = Novi Cube! Shoot dozens of projectiles at evil geometric shapes to finally satisfy that itch to kill geometric shapes that we all have since we had to calculate weird shapes and forms! Calculating areas of squares is boring! Novi Cube is fun²!

Новый взгдяж на привычный арканоид и галаку. Всё чего не хватает этой игре это милого пиксельного визуала, как у Peglin. И игра была бы в топе стима. https://youtu.be/eZUj3x1_a6s
Normaly i dont play Indie games like these and i am not a fan of brick breakers, but somehow this game was realy fun. I think the reason for this is that no run is like the other because of the decisions you have to make. Because of the upgreat system you have a lot of variety in the way you can play the game. Some people complain that shotgun shots is an overpowert Upgreat but i dont think that is the case. A lot of the other upgreats are also very good and some in my opinion even better but that is the beauty of this game... you can play what you like and what suits your playstile.

Saw the game played by Angory Tom on youtube and decided to pick it up. It's easy to get into, provide enough fun for the cost, and with a run being fairly short it's easy to start and play a couple when you don't feel like starting something big in a different game.
I just finished the game 100% achievements and I gotta say it was really fun, the game relies a lot on rng with the upgrades but it does provide a fun snowball experience especially on endless mode. I got to round 401 on endless because I was shooting nearly 100 projectiles that then would split into 12 more, and it lagged my computer with every shot. It's fun and over the top, however about 80% of my runs I would die almost instantly on the hardest difficulty due to bad rng. This game was fun and for the price is absolutely worth it. I did encounter 1 common but minor bug, which was when you died and try to go back in, it would display an additional ui of the last match over the level/character select screen. This was easily fixable by exiting back to the main menu and going back into the character/level select. Otherwise I experienced no bugs or crashes even with a late game run shooting close to 1000 projectiles on screen on endless. I'd give the game a solid 7.5 or 8/10 other than the extreme rng this game has there isn't anything terrible about this arkanoid/upside down peggle type of roguelike
Watched Angory Tom's video on this and I am very happy I got to play it myself. Is it janky? Is it a bit broken? Is it a bit too RNG heavy? Yes to all that. Is it still somehow incredibly addicting and fun as hell? Yuuuuup I just played for like 5 hours straight and got 100% of the achievements. It is now 4am. Time absolutely flies past when playing this lmao. Would love to see more content release and a bit of balancing. Some of the power-ups just don't work, others are literally useless, some are critically needed. But tbh playing through all the different characters and the difficulties (and even trying to see what the highest difficulty I could get to lmao) it gave enough variety and needed a good amount of strategy to beat it. Games go by fast as well so when you get bad RNG that screws you over, it's not too bad.
weirdly satisfying
EDIT: While initially I didn't recommend, I do think the game is good and I was a bit too harsh. The game has potential, is updated regularly, and the developer is receptive to input. That is all anyone could ask for in a game. Something that I forgot to mention was that the gameplay loop is relatively quick, which I think is a strength. Games take 5-10 minutes each and are a good way to kill time. Also, the recent update made the black holes much more manageable. Big win in my eyes as it felt like an auto loss before when they spawned I look forward to where the game goes. ------------------ Novi Cube is a neat concept but suffers from poor execution. The level up mechanic is flawed. You pick one of three random traits offered and have the option to reroll for a "token", something you get for clearing bosses. However, a bunch of these traits are useless. Projectile size does basically nothing. Explosive tiles are ineffective against bosses. There is a very clear meta that forms as you attempt higher difficulties. I find myself taking the same upgrades every time because everything else just doesn't have the damage. Not only that but the black hole enemy sucks out all the fun you might have. It exerts gravity, eats your shots and is invulnerable so you are essentially helpless if it spawns. It doesn't even give you anything if you survive it. God help you if the game decides to position you right under it, you will never be able to break any tiles. Did I forget to mention that you can't even control where you shoot from?
arcade game brick breaker meets roguelite. Quite a fun mix
Well worth the asking price. Chill game perfect for recovering from a big night out.
This game is a great way to pass the time, sometimes feels a bit imbalanced or a bit unpolished but its in its early stages and is still extremely fun and definitely worth the price. Does a great job at combining roguelites with brick breakers and the metaprogression is fun
