Novi Cube

If there was a 'meh.' option I would choose that. It's not really terrible but it doesn't have much good going for it. It's cheap at $2 but even then it's not really worth playing. There is little to no skill involved, you either get upgrades you need- or you don't. I thought it was more of a brick breaker game where you control the bottom paddle- you do not. You fire the projectile(s) at an angle and watch the game happen. You don't really need to aim anywhere in particular and I found myself winning just by getting the right upgrades (at random) and then firing away (at random). What could turn this into a better game would be more and better persistent upgrades. Currently you can unlock a few classes and level up 3 skills 3 times for each of them. Having another layer of skills to level that worked for each class (small damage increases, chance to shoot X projectile type, chance to see X upgrade more often, etc) and also having a more and more zoomed out play area where the numbers ended up being massive would give more of a reason to play and grind. Could even add a 'loot' system where certain blocks had a chance to drop items you could slot into your ball shooter. It just needs something to give me a reason to come back and play. I've played about 30 minutes and currently have no reason to load it back up.

A simple, but fun game. The type of roguelite where most of the fun comes from upgrades you get, and since there is a large amount of upgrades, this will keep the game for for a good while. I would recommend it!

I never thought i wanted to play a game with the concept of Novi Cube but here i am getting lost for the past 2 hours now. It has good mechanics, variable characters with individual strength and it is just fun to mess around with a bit. Would recommend, this small money is sure worth it!

Fun, short roguelike, I love the music and the concept. It is slightly buggy and can get laggy but overall, a great buy for its cheap price!

I love this game. It is easy to not notice the time passing by trying to unlock every character and beat it at different challenge ratings. It got better with the new patches! Would recommend it!

Normaly i dont play Indie games like these and i am not a fan of brick breakers, but somehow this game was realy fun. I think the reason for this is that no run is like the other because of the decisions you have to make. Because of the upgreat system you have a lot of variety in the way you can play the game. Some people complain that shotgun shots is an overpowert Upgreat but i dont think that is the case. A lot of the other upgreats are also very good and some in my opinion even better but that is the beauty of this game... you can play what you like and what suits your playstile.
