About

NovaMundi is an open-world exploration game with tactical combat, in which you lead a group of warriors to traverse the ever-changing dangerous lands of the Andes in the XVI Century. Build your reputation to recruit people in towns, explore mysterious caverns filled with dangerous spirits to gain the blessings of the lands, barter for supplies to survive, and use diplomacy to unite your people against the invaders.
The people of the Muisca territory stand divided and are also constantly threatened by the nearby Panche, Muzo, and more. In this scenario, a run-down group of Spanish explorers has reached their land and seeks to profit from these divisions and conflicts to make alliances and ultimately gain control of it. It's up to your group to unite the Muisca and prepare for the upcoming invasion.

Deep in the dark caverns of these mountains, the fabric of reality is torn apart: the spirits of the land are angry, and they will test whoever invades these sacred places. Only the strongest will be worthy of the powerful blessings of nature to battle the invaders.

In NovaMundi a new map is created every time you play. Mountains and rivers will make it difficult to travel the lands of the Muisca, no matter how many times you’ve explored them. When your party dies, it’s time to explore again.
On the way, you’ll meet the indigenous and participate in their struggles, explore caves; holy sites for the Muisca now unpredictable due to the upheaval caused by the Spanish invaders in the land. All this while you fight hunger, disease, beasts, and humans.

Runs packed with content: Focus on the main quest to unite the Muisca confederation against the European invaders, help the natives in their jobs, explore procedurally generated caves fighting beasts and mythical creatures from the Muisca culture, search for exotic animals from the Andean mountains in the paramos, jungles, and swamps of the region and much more. You’ll need several runs to experience it all!
A unique setting: NovaMundi takes place during the Spanish conquest of South America in the XVI century. Meet one of the cultures that originated the legend of “El Dorado”: the Muisca.
Chiefdom Origins — choose your hometown and gain unique advantages shaped by the chieftain, culture, and traditions that raised you.
Tailor your experience to your wants and needs: Maybe you don’t want to play with diseases, or you’d like the challenge of only being able to use one kind of troop, or starting without any gold. Maybe you’re a fan of Andean wildlife and would like to recruit the help of jaguars and spectacled bears. You can do it with perks.
Real-time battles with big warbands and big consequences: NovaMundi has a satisfying combat system in which you can battle many different units against big enemy groups. Battle several dozen Muisca warriors of several classes, archers, and beasts against Panche raiders and Spanish invaders. Face archers against melee fighters and protect your frontline using guardians. Each individual is unique; if wounded they will need several days to heal, and if they die… There is no escape from the cold embrace of death.

NovaMundi is a cool strategy RPG that does some interesting things. The world is procedurally generated, so every expedition plays out a bit differently and you actually have to adapt instead of repeating the same route. I also like the historical setting in the early colonial Andes. It gives the game a distinct vibe compared to typical fantasy RPGs. If you enjoy tactical combat and exploration and want something a little different, it is worth a try.
Good to see Colombian Indigenous roots portrayed well in a game. Definitely not something you see every day.

cant set hotkeys to select certain units. your characters wont auto attack animals nearby unless they attack them directly. mountain lions hit box is really hard to click and is off centre so you're not actually clicking on the mountain lion to attack it. have to hover over things in your inventory for a few seconds to show what things actually do, why not just make it show all the info without having to wait? you don't gain anything from hiding it. Overall this is an unfinished game that although it has promise is too much of a mess to recommend. I will be getting a refund
I have been having a lot of fun with the game. It was gifted to me by a friend who likes the game. The native american setting is a great choice with a barter economy, good exploration mechanics, and enemies both foreign and domestic.
Such a unique setting! All games based on this period are either about the Spanish or the Aztecs. Seeing it from a different perspective and with such care for details and accuracy.
Great approach to one of the less known Mesoamerican civilizations: the Muisca. Easy to learn real time tactics and a big explorable campaign map. It's a nice add to your Steam library, specially if on sale.
