Nova Swarm is a fun game. It's easy to jump into, it runs quick and it has that "just one more try" feeling. The screen gets pretty chaotic, but in a good way, and unlocking new ships gives you a reason to keep coming back. If you like old-school space shooters or score-chasing games, this is a nice little indie gem.
Pure arcade fun! Learn enemy waves, beat bosses, grab powerups, push your score. Multiple ships with different feel. Quick restart keeps you hooked. Great for short sessions.
Awesome game! The gameplay is super fun, addictive, and has a really satisfying sense of progression. Every run makes me want to queue up "just one more." The controls feel smooth, the combat is satisfying, and the visuals fit the game's style perfectly. Huge props to the devs for such a great job. Looking forward to future updates!
What I like about this game is that you don't have to put in a lot of effort to start playing it. It is like those games I loved to play when I was young, only this is more up-to-date and fun for a lot longer because there is a lot of content to unlock and bosses to fight. It is addictive because you want to climb those scoreboards, and as you get more ships when you level up, you can put a little strategy into it too. I will definitely keep playing this game! :)
Few games truly capture the magic of classic arcade shooters while still feeling fresh, but Nova Swarm manages to do exactly that. After spending some time with the game and watching it evolve through multiple updates, it has become one of the most enjoyable arcade experiences I have played in years. From the moment you launch into a run, Nova Swarm wastes no time. The action is fast, chaotic, and incredibly addictive. Despite the overwhelming number of enemies and explosions, the game remains surprisingly readable, making every death feel like a lesson rather than a frustration. One of Nova Swarm's biggest strengths is its impressive enemy variety and memorable boss battles. Runs rarely feel the same, and the progression systems provide plenty of reasons to keep returning for "just one more run." The game also has plenty of personality, with humorous touches, expanding Codex entries, and a unique sci-fi atmosphere that helps it stand out from many other shooters. Nova Swarm is not without minor flaws, and some newcomers may initially find the later stages overwhelming. However, those who enjoy arcade shooters will likely see that intensity as one of the game's greatest strengths. I've only played for about 15 minutes so far, but my first impressions are very positive. The quality is definitely there, and the overall scope of the game is already pretty clear. One thing I noticed is that the screenshots don't seem to fully match what’s actually in the game for some reason. The soundtrack is awesome as well. Definitely give this a try if you enjoy similar games. 🙂
TL;DR Space Invaders clone, not sure what else to say. Okay so this friendly gentleman asked me and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of other people to review his game, and since i didnt want to be rude, i gave it a go, it works on linux manjaro with proton despite no native port, the gameplay is like space invaders, it sometimes feels like the bosses or the enemys are lagging and bugging out or jumping from one place to another, and i havent figured out what they are aiming at me, because i dont feel like i ever got hit at all. i somehow died for no reason and was awared with a couple steam achievements and some new ingame ships. the design is ok, nothing spectacular but it gets the job done.
