About
You awaken alone on a cold, rocky shore beneath a moonless sky, dragged from the sea through a sewer pipe with no memory of who you are, how you arrived, or why you’re still alive.
Beyond the beach lies Nothmere, a remote town nestled deep within an inescapable ring of jagged mountains. No one leaves. No one ever has. Every soul who arrives does so the same way you did: broken, memoryless, and stranded.
Despite this, the town endures.
Nothmere is protected by powerful magical wards embedded into its stone walls, holding back the void creatures that stalk the surrounding wilderness. These defenses are maintained by the town’s Mage guild, while order and survival are enforced by the Warrior guild. Thieves lurk in the shadows, secrets whisper through alleyways, and every citizen carries gaps in their past they cannot explain.
As you explore the town and its outskirts, you’ll uncover fragments of truth about Nothmere’s origins, the nature of the wards, the monsters beyond the walls, and the terrible cost that keeps the town standing. What begins as a search for escape becomes something far more unsettling; the realization that Nothmere exists for a reason and you may be part of it.
Your choices will determine how the story ends. Will you preserve the fragile balance that keeps the town safe? Will you uncover a way to break the cycle? Or will you doom Nothmere, and everyone within it forever? In Nothmere, memory is a weapon, sacrifice is inevitable, and some truths are buried for a reason.
Love RPG? Make sure to Follow my Curator Page for plenty more!
This gem is rare. Before us is almost a new part of Quest For Glory. With a new and extremely intriguing story, slightly changed mechanics, but still the same beloved old world full of surprises and unusual characters. Is it possible to skip it - definitely not! I highly recommend it to all fans of the Quest For Glory series. ✔️10/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVwU2Z8RFQg
And don't forget to Subscribe to my Youtube

Join my Steam Group
Wow, this gem deserves way more love than its currently getting. I'm not sure how adventure game hotspot missed this release, but to the devs - This is your core audience, you have to make it known there. As far as the game itself goes, I'm 3 hours in, it feels like a lost quest for glory, much more than previous attempts (even the great quest for infamy). Currently, this game's biggest challenge is finding an audience. It totally deserves to do it
I think this is an admirable solo developer game in the vein of Quest for Glory, Heroine's Quest, Quest of Infamy, and Mage's Initiation. It's a competent first showing and I very much appreciate this game and did enjoy playing and will be replaying this title. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars as it has issues of polish, refinement, and presentation that stand out as you play and I think most people will find some element here or there pretty frustrating as they play. So expect a somewhat flawed experience, but I'll recommend and hope that the developer keeps making games like this and improves on his game design. There's three issues I think someone reading a review might want to know about for a Point and Click RPG. First for and adventure game this is very low feedback. Old school games gave you very little information on what to do and use, but may started giving more feedback and hunts from deaths, game overs, and failures. Nothmere has a journal and quests that are much appreciated for helping you keep track of things, but when you're missing something there's often very little to no hints as to what you missed or what you need to do. Second is the character dialog portraits. These are animated, but there's at least 3 different art styles that don't really mesh well together. It stands out on occasion, especially when you see NPCs chatting along and one of them has a cartoon style portrait and the other has a far more realistic portraits. I think animated dialog portraits are the right call, but the inconsistency is going to really bother some people. Third and Final is the game world feel. The game's lore justifies the empty feeling of locations so that is competently handled, but that's a tricky kind of element to handle in a video game and I would have advised the game design handle map locations a little differently,
Great game, and very nostalgic.
not sure why there isnt a full screen mode
Great!
This is a fun game with some medium and hard puzzles. The games reminds me of Quest for Glory games witch I liked very much in my 8086 PC days :). I would recommend this game for people who likes so adventures and puzzle games. I think this game should receive some love and attention.
I have finally beaten this game, and tanned its hide. In short, this game is for old-head Quest for Glory lovers, but do not expect Quest for Glory because this is its own adventure. The main thing that may throw off people who expected a spiritual QfG successor is that your stats do not go up as you use them, but are instead invested in when you gain a level. This game is a passion effort by an incredibly small but dedicated team to keep the old school adventure genre going. You'll find plenty of fun mentions and references to classic Sierra games, and you'll also find a compelling adventure awaiting for you. I ran into a few minor bugs while playing such as not being able to level up, but just continuing to play the game seemed to fix those issues, I haven't been able to figure out exactly what was going on with that but I did enjoy that there were no dead-man walking states, and the puzzles usually weren't too head scratching or using moon logic, and this was very appreciated. The developer was incredibly responsive and willing to help others in their journeys. GAMEPLAY: This is a point and click adventure, very standard. The story is actually one of the strongest points of the game I found, I liked the characters. Sometimes there was some, "go around and talk to everyone to reveal one new dialog option to progress" instances, and sometimes there is a bit of trekking back and forth too much, but if you're not me, this likely won't be irksome. I saw some comments saying they weren't really pleased with the combat, so I'll restate what the developer has said and that this is primarily point and click and not combat heavy. I grinded my character to level 100 and can confirm, outside of raising stats there's no real reason to focus so much on combat, and it has been revealed there really aren't that many stat checks in the game anyways so grinding is largely unnecessary. AUDIO: I really liked the audio, it all felt appropriate. ART: The setting and art direction was very enjoyable, there is definitely AI taking the forefront of some of the art so sometimes things look great, and sometimes it seems a bit iffy. The thing that would throw me off though wasn't smooth images in a pixelated world, it was the scaling on the main character in the forest. Overall, I found this game well worth the price and really enjoyed my adventuring time in Nothmere. I found this much more enjoyable and polished than Quest for Infamy, and a few of the other tributes to the classic Sierra adventuring games.
I really like this game, especially the references to all the games from my childhood. From Police Quest and Kings Quest in the graveyard, to all the various Quest for Glory references, and things like the Day of the Tentacle toy in the Codex dorms. The quests are plentiful, in-depth, and comprehensive. I love Dankworth, he's by far my favorite character, and provides some really great comic relief. The game feels like a real throwback to old school RPGs and is really well done, I hope the developer does another game.
I have been playing Nothmere since yesterday and am thoroughly enjoying it so far. It is relatively easy to make money, it has items you can buy that boost your stats and an engaging story. Just practicing skills is a challenge, as it depends on XP and leveling up instead of repetition. Otherwise a really nice game.
