The camera angle - Too close from the character, with nearly no possible overview - make this game nearly implayable :( Plus the "tutorial" has very little to no explanations :(

A quaint little game. It has an interesting, slightly dreamlike atmosphere built by a soothing music, cute sound effects and a nice, minimalistic artstyle. Each of the 5 levels has a handful of fresh ideas resulting in more or less unique gameplay. It's a mix of a platforming and puzzle game, succeeding in providing a challenge for your brain and fingers. On the flip side, the game's HP system doesn't fit well with its pacing, it can become quite confusing at times and it seems that the steps between introducing new, often interesting, ideas, challenging the player with them and moving on to the next one are taken a bit too quickly. All in all, if you aren't easily discouraged and want to try something that looks and feels fresh, NOSTOI might be what you are looking for.
So many things to love! Art style is uncanny and interesting. Music is really nice and suits the game. The 3x Heart System is terrible and made me not want to continue playing. Please remove the hearts and leave the obelisk check point system. https://youtu.be/mlvYg1275D0
I wished they had a neutral recommendation. The game is a unique puzzle platformer, which is fun. I couldn't get the controller to work, nor could I get to a main menu (usually the 'ESC' key). Maybe it is just me when it came to this issue. The keyboard movement works fine. Not sure I'd get this at the current price. If it goes on sale and if I'm the only one with the controller and ESC key issue, it's worth a spin to play. Still goint to give it a thumbs up, but with some reservation to it.
NOSTOI is a low poly/minimalist 3D platformer built with the Unreal Engine and featuring custom assets and minimalistic/low poly "art". Gameplay consists of moving around various moving platforms (you can't jump), hitting buttons to "rewind" things (basically just move things around) and bouncing off catapult/trampoline things. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid 2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. NOSTOI didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for completing the tutorial, and only around 34 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. That's right, only 3. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. NOSTOI is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
