Nordic Warriors

Finished this game recently. A great successor to the classic Myth series! Nice variety in the missions. For those who have played the old Myth series, the graphics are a huge upgrade. It took a little time to get used to the controls scheme, but very smooth once I had it down. Ran with no problems on my 2017 iMac Retina 4k (3.6 GHz i7 & Radeon Pro 560). Thanks to the developers for all their work on this.

The Game overall is a nice little throwback to the Myth series. I do not think it's as good. It's lacking in story, lore, and the overwhelming dread and helplessness that oozed out of the Myth series. Nordic Warriors feels a bit too cliched. There was no special destined hero in Myth except Connacht but he was part of a large circle of light and darkness, not "the chosen one" as Freja is in this one. Combat feels a bit floaty... wish there was some physics engine behind all the guts, arrows, and grenades alchemists throw. It feels more "scripted" than what you had in Myth. Lastly, the units feel bland and uninspired it's a shame. What's good about the game is that enemy encounters are well thought out and you can feel the developers did spend some time on designing the missions. It does capture a glimpse of the game it modeled itself after. To me it's worth a buy if you enjoy Myth series or late 1990's RTS's but don't expect a masterpiece. Just a humble throwback to the good old days.

nice game very hard love it

Fantastic game, it's mad this isn't better known. The developers certainly make no secret of their love of Myth and even though I haven't played those games in over 20 years, the nostalgia is strong with this one. Playing through on 2nd hardest difficulty it will take you about 10-11 hours to play through. Challenging but not impossible, especially if you turn the speed down. In later missions, speed control is beyond essential to get through. The scenarios are varied, the enemies are relentless and the blood and splatter is gratuitous. Highly recommended!

20 years after myth 2, and still managed to be a lower experience in every aspect

A solid Myth-like experience. Exactly what I wanted.

So, for those who remember Myth [Remember to take your meds, by the way], this is the closest we will ever get to reliving the glory. Below are just some of the correlations I've seen. Short guys who throw bombs [Originally dwarves throwing molotov cocktails] Said bombs not always exploding on impact. Werewolves [Originally myrkridia] Spell Animations [This games' fetch not only have similar attacks, but use an attack that looks like the Deceiver's] Level design [Though let's be honest, it's limited with this type of gameplay, so it makes sense] Strategy [Archer shoot, archer move, archer shoot, archer move] And more, admittedly I'm only to level 9 so I haven't beaten it and seen all the units. For those who didn't play Myth, start there.
