========================================== When rethink about it, most of the player in steam stick with english. Shall edit my review by adding english ver, to hope more player to join support this game :D Story : 4/5 , Battle : 2/5 , Char design&CV : 4/5 , Price & Quality : 5/5 It would be better to think that, enjoy the game by reading story like light novel. Battle were very poor due to using LQ 3D model, and not to say is fun or exciting for me. Just think it as an extra system. This game basically a sad love story about a magician and an soldier. Kinda heart break after playing it.... hoping there will be a better ending for them in future... It took me around 3hrs to finish this game. And most of the Japanese grammar been used wasnt that complicated too. Worth to try this game in Japanese, if you tend to learn Japanese. :D This game was the 1st game created by a new game creator. Quality as a 1st game was great for me, and of cause being new means very low popularity... which is kinda sad. If you like this game, lets support this game and the creator to be more motivated !! And hope that there will be a sequel for this game.... I wanted to see this couple having happy life together!! ughh...
It's a really nice little story for only 1€, if you like Visual Novels and you have a little too much time, then buy it! But I personally think that the end came too abruptly and I also think the beautiful little story deserves a more comprehensive ending :-/ By the way, as an average reader it took me 2,5 hours to complete the game, the game has some nice art, it has 5 easy achievements, the english translation is great and the Japanese dubbing sounds appropriate. But i think the "card-style turn-based battles" should not have been in the game, because in my opinion they only disturb the flow of reading. Finally it's a nice little game and I hope the dev will make more of these games, but in the future with a more satisfying ending, please ;-)
Nora & Magic that does not turn back time is a small but emotionally focused indie title that blends visual novel storytelling with light turn-based, card-inspired combat to deliver a reflective fantasy experience centered on memory, identity, and human connection. Developed and published by akihiro, the game is unapologetically intimate in scope, favoring atmosphere and character-driven storytelling over mechanical complexity or large-scale worldbuilding. Rather than aiming to overwhelm players with systems or branching narratives, it commits to telling a concise, carefully paced story that unfolds with quiet confidence. The game begins with the player awakening in an unfamiliar place, stripped of memories and context. Almost immediately, you are confronted by a young woman named Nora, who insists on a casual, personal tone from the very first interaction. This seemingly small request establishes the emotional framework of the entire experience: closeness, vulnerability, and an unspoken history that the player must slowly uncover. As the story progresses, the relationship between the amnesiac protagonist and Nora becomes the emotional backbone of the game, driving both the narrative tension and the player’s motivation to continue. Storytelling is primarily delivered through visual novel sequences, complete with expressive character portraits, atmospheric backgrounds, and full voice acting. The inclusion of voice performances significantly enhances immersion, lending warmth and sincerity to dialogue that might otherwise feel understated. Conversations are deliberate and paced, allowing emotions to settle rather than rushing toward dramatic climaxes. Themes of loss, regret, and the fear of forgetting are woven naturally into interactions, giving the narrative a reflective tone that feels personal rather than melodramatic. Interspersed throughout the story are turn-based combat segments that use a card-style system built around preconstructed decks. These battles serve as narrative punctuation, breaking up long stretches of dialogue while reinforcing the fantasy setting. The combat mechanics are intentionally accessible; players are not required to build decks from scratch or manage complex synergies. Instead, the focus is on making thoughtful decisions within a limited framework, ensuring that combat enhances the pacing without distracting from the story. While not mechanically deep, these encounters are visually clean and sufficiently engaging to prevent them from feeling like filler. Visually, the game adopts a soft anime-inspired aesthetic that complements its emotional tone. Character art emphasizes facial expression and posture, helping convey subtle shifts in mood and relationship dynamics. Backgrounds are varied enough to maintain visual interest while remaining uncluttered, reinforcing the sense that the story, rather than spectacle, is the primary focus. The overall presentation feels cohesive and intentional, even when individual assets show the limitations of a small indie production. The game’s structure is largely linear, guiding players through a single narrative path with minimal divergence. This design choice allows the story to maintain a strong emotional throughline, but it also limits replay value for those seeking multiple endings or branching choices. The experience typically lasts only a few hours, making it well-suited for players who prefer complete, self-contained stories rather than long-term commitments. Achievements and cloud saving add minor quality-of-life benefits, but the main appeal remains the narrative journey itself. Technically, the game is straightforward and stable, designed to run smoothly on a wide range of systems. The developer has been transparent about the use of AI-assisted elements in parts of the production process, noting that these were refined and curated by human hands. While this may be a point of consideration for some players, it does not detract significantly from the overall cohesion or emotional impact of the presentation. Player reception, though limited in volume, has been extremely positive, suggesting that the game resonates strongly with its intended audience. Those who appreciate character-driven visual novels, gentle fantasy settings, and stories about memory and emotional bonds tend to respond warmly to what the game offers. Conversely, players looking for complex combat systems, open-ended exploration, or heavily branching narratives may find the experience too restrained. Ultimately, Nora & Magic that does not turn back time succeeds by embracing its modest ambitions and executing them with care. It is not a game about changing the past or rewriting destiny, but about understanding what remains when memories fade and time moves forward regardless. Through its focused storytelling, accessible gameplay, and sincere emotional core, it delivers a quietly memorable experience that lingers not because of spectacle, but because of the human connection at its heart. Rating: 7/10
