About
Nocturnal is an action game where you play as Ardeshir, a soldier of the Enduring Flame, returning to his homeland, Nahran, after many years of absence.
Following the appearance of a mysterious Mist, the island has recently fallen into chaos, and Ardeshir must wield his flaming sword and use powerful abilities to confront its mysteries and free Nahran.
Repel a dynamically generated Mist that reacts to the flames of your sword.

A very nice platform game. It reminded me a bit the first games of Prince of Persia, and I'm not talking just because the ambience. All the running, the simple combat and the fun are more related to it. Short and not that difficult - perfect if you want just to relax and have only one afternoon to enjoy a game.

Игра довольно атмосферная и приятная по визуалу. Больше всего понравилась механика огня — она хорошо вписывается в исследование локаций и сражения, особенно когда приходится постоянно следить за тем, чтобы меч не погас. Музыка отлично дополняет мрачную атмосферу, а рисованный стиль выглядит очень красиво. Единственное, что немного расстроило — игра довольно короткая, хотелось бы больше локаций и контента. В целом хорошая небольшая инди-игра, которую вполне можно пройти за вечер и получить удовольствие.
if you want the best experience change the buttons
Short (a bit too short) and fun metroidvania, highly recommended if you are intersted in genre and want to dip your toes in since it is really easy and forgiving, unlike others of the same genre. Definitely not worth the full price (at least from my perspective) but you can often times get it for cheap during sales (I got it for free). Hope the sequal is more robust and long.
Kurzfristig entschieden in das Game reinzuschauen und wurde sehr positiv überrascht. Der Style ist extrem sympathisch, das Gameplay am Controller geht flüssig von der Hand und die Kombo aus Dunkelheit und Feuer ist sowieso nie verkehrt. Die Kämpfe sind nicht absurd schwer aber blind reinzulaufen und nicht die Umgebung im Blick zu behalten macht das Leben unnötig schwer :) Nocturnal hat eine kurze Spielzeit und es auf 100% zu bringen kann man bereits im ersten Run schaffen. Ich hatte keine Ahnung von dem Game und packe Nocturnal 2 direkt auf die Wishlist. Good job Sunnyside Games :D
