About
Nocturnal is an action game where you play as Ardeshir, a soldier of the Enduring Flame, returning to his homeland, Nahran, after many years of absence.
Following the appearance of a mysterious Mist, the island has recently fallen into chaos, and Ardeshir must wield his flaming sword and use powerful abilities to confront its mysteries and free Nahran.
Repel a dynamically generated Mist that reacts to the flames of your sword.
Carry your flames across Nahran: your blade can also ignite the environment, activate mechanisms, and even destroy creatures born from the Mist.
Defeat enemies and explore the environment to collect ash, which can be offered to Phoenix statues. You'll gain new skills and bonuses vital for your survival.
Explore a compact island offering a streamlined experience centered around a singular concept. (game length: around 3 hours)

It's a decent enough little game that you can breeze through in an afternoon. Not sure about that pricetag, but I got mine for free.
Short, but competently-made. Nocturnal has, pretty much all I could ask for for a game its length. A good story you can follow, good gameplay and level-design, enough variety, both in enemies and mechanics to keep things fresh for its duration and an accessible difficulty level. It also runs quite smoothly, though that's to be expected. There's customization, collectibles, a cool graphical style and good music. Normally, my reviews are longer but honestly, Nocturnal hits the mark. The game leaves you wanting more by the end. There isn't any real replayability ; You can get all of the collectibles in one run with surprising ease given its genre The price it goes for on sale is quite fair in my opinion. Though a lot of folks got it for free during a giveway a while back. Overall, I'd give the game a 9/10
I think this is a really cool short action platformer game. The combat and fire mechanic is great, the fire and mist effect look dynamic which look really cool and satisfying. Platforming section is pretty fun. Though i feel like the checkpoint are a bit too close, which make the game less challenging. The artstyle looks nice. I'll probably play the game's sequel
Está bueno, fachero, unas 4 horitas bien dadas o mucho menos si no eres manco como yo
Very fun action platformer with some puzzle elements. Light on story, but it's there. Gives just enough info to want to know more about the world. Also very short. Under 3 hours to 100% the game. On my first playthrough all I missed were two shrines, easily found once level select was unlocked after beating the game. The biggest issue is that there are so many blind jumps. Like, so many. You're supposed to just know when it's safe to jump down off screen and when it's a pit, I guess. I ended up jumping into most pits at least once just to make sure there weren't any hidden rooms below. And sometimes there were. Hopefully the sequel is longer and has more story. Not worth it at full price ($16.99USD at this writing) simply because of how short it is, but if you can get it half off or better and you're a fan of action platforming, give it a try.
I've not been vibing with this game. Contorls feel clunky and for a platformer it was not inspiring me to continue playing it. The central theme is fire: upgrade weapon with fire, throwing dagger with fire, use fire to hit (special) torches for progress and keeping the fire going. Combat was simple. Camera work in certain placed quite bad and causes awkward deaths as you cannot see the next platform; Otherwise camera is decent. Music and sound felt flat to me. Might be worth considering when free or for a couple of euro's. But the original asking price of 17 euro's, that's hard pass for me.
