yet another "backrooms maze" with no ambience or anything fun, just boring maze running. Might as well go play Slenderman, It would be more entertaining with the same premise. The IDEA of early 2000s camcordrs is very interesting but in practcie it's very motion sickness enducing and off putting.
Mainly: I suggest to buy in sale if you have some spare money left. It have not a save system progress, so, wait for newer updates before. Camera shaking its some annonying. It's ok, but compared to other Backrooms games it falls very short. I like that there are some more objectives in the game than in the typical "walking sim" type game. The ambiance is pretty good, except for some eye-rolling text jokes in the mall area about mewing and Mr. Beast. The best part was the story aspect, even if the ending was kinda lackluster. There are some bad points though. No graphics options (this may be added in a later update), the movement is a bit too slow for my taste, the levels could use more landmarks, a save feature would be really nice, and then lastly the game length. I beat this game in under two hours, and actually the first 30 minutes of my total playtime was in a first time playthrough that was wiped when I closed the game the first time. I hope there will be some more updates in the future, but I will give it an unenthusiastic thumbs up. It could've been a lot worse.
This game is really good. It's like The Complex found footage but with a few objectives thrown in. I'm hoping there will be more levels to explore. The graphics are excellent, very realistic. The level design is good until it gets to the pool rooms., there's just no variation there at all. Some parts of the game are really hard to find your way out, that is the point I guess. The game lacks a saving mode, this is where it becomes problematic with the harder parts because, the last thing you want to do is go through those parts again, for example, there is an area where you can fall and get stuck with no way out other than to start the game again and....yup...right to the beginning, that's a huge drag. The game would also benefit from being able to select a level once you have completed it. The bad aspects aside, I would love to see more of this game. I hope the Dev's continue with this project. At it's current price, it's a steal. 9/10. 1 point deducted for the save issue. Dev nails the walking and sprint speed. It's perfect and so is the head bob

What could easily be one of the best Backrooms games on Steam suddenly and quickly becomes anything but. The first level is convoluted, so full of padding, that I never finished it. This, because, somehow, somewhere, someone made a game where you are forced to find a code in a labyrinth, and, voila, now, all the Backrooms games need a code, a stick man chasing you, a bad save system and no level select. Put this all together and you have this one as well, where an update to the first level is coming since June. An update to make the experience more enjoyable to the players is coming since 6 months ago... I have no clue if the game even features all the levels shown in the screenshots. Noclip - Backrooms game. Although i haven't reached too far, i haven't seen any reviews mentioning entities, and i have not seen any in-game (except for the sounds). What i wanted to say was that i saw another review asking for a map, which i agree would break the immersion. What the devs COULD do is add a feature where there is a paper map, and the character rights down key points of interest. It could be toggled. Speaking of toggling, can you make it so that the objectives at the top can be turned on and off by pressing a button, such as ALT, or TAB, that would be very nice, anyways, good game, thanks
Bought this for $1 seeing it hasn't been updated in over a year. I still feel ripped off. This is bad. The biggest middle finger to the fanbase though, "Settings menu will be available in next update" then never updating it again. No way to exit or pause, just good 'ole Alt+F4 Shakey nauseating headbob effect Just all around yuck.
I recommend this game to every Backrooms fan out there. Even if it's inspired by Kane Pixels' work, it is still a really good interpretation of the original text and pictures on 4chan. It is a very good Backrooms game for the price. Gotta love the liminal aspect and the layout of each parts which makes it really feel like a non-linear space. I love the fact that you don't really know if you are alone, and this is a really good thing. Please stay true to this. As a "purist" fan of the Backrooms i thank you for making this game more focused on the exploration part than the "surviving monsters" aspect. I have a feeling that adding entities, or a defined story would break the immersion. Same thoughts for adding a map. (the marker/pen idea to write on walls is a good one though) (A lot of people talked about the save problem so i'm not gonna mention it again, same for the pause button)
