This is pretty solid visual novel with great pixel art visuals and good writing. I really enjoyed the eerie atmosphere of the game. What mostly caught my attention was the writing of dialogs (don't miss the chat history on your PC!) The characters are very likeable, they speak and act like real humans without going fully mystery mode all the time which is typical for horror genre. Although, it is very blunt about it's messages and the story is quite simple, it's not a bad thing 'cause the game works good with themes of corporate suffering and grief. If such themes are close to you, I'm totally reccomending this game.
One of the best games I have ever played!! Game is incredibly well executed, all the details and paths line up perfectly no matter the order you play, you can tell how much time was spent to refine the game to this level. While you play, you feel exactly like the main character and the story is organized in a way that you discover things and understand the story at the same pace as Daniel, which will make you feel like you're also part of the office crew. Truly a masterpiece. Played everything in one go because of the curiosity, the game really keeps you wondering from beginning to end and even after you finish there are still so many references and different mysteries to figure out that I'm sure not even playing twice I could catch all of them. End is a great conclusion to the story and the game really makes you reflect on your own life as well. Warning: be prepared for tears. Some of my favorite parts were: - Kitty mini-game - COFFE SCENE - Mia's dialogues Some parts you can't miss that add a bunch to the experience: - Read all the chats, super funny moments and light hearted chats, - always talk to everyone even when you have another task. - Play the kitty mini-game!! - Read the magazines too - Pay attention to the facial expressions, they change with each sentence that the characters say. - when Daniel is working, read the code (cute little easter egg) One thing to improve: I wish this game had only voices so I didn't have to read and could only look at the facial expressions, they are really amazing. Outstanding work, The art is impeccable. My compliments to the team who managed to do so much on their first ever game. I'll definitely be purchasing any future games.
Really enjoyed this one! The pixel art is amazing, the sound design is very good, and the story was nice. I felt that the story could have been a bit more since the major reveal at the end was really obvious after the first hour, and I hoped they would have moved on what happens beyond that, but didn't. Still, it was a nice story/message, though not mind-blowing. Recommended if you fancy a good short story with horror themes & gorgeous art. Looking forward for whatever this dev works on next!
really a beautiful game about loss...made me tear up. i'm excited to see what else this developer makes
Definitivamente um dos jogos já feitos. O game integra muito bem a atmosfera com os personagens e a trama, com cenários rico em detalhes que dão mais profundidade à história. Um ótimo jogo para quem curte visual novel.
An extremely polished psychological horror/mystery visual novel packed with so much detail and love! I could not put this game down the moment I started. SO many laughs! SO many scares. Such an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, with the plot and the dialogue never leaving a dull moment the entire time I played. All of the characters are fun, all with their own unique charms and flaws. The conversations that are shared feel so realistic and relatable -- I seriously felt like I was transported into a corporate office space. The mix of mundane conversations and heartfelt ones kept the game immersive and engaging. Be sure to talk with your coworkers and check your chat logs! The art and sound made for a wonderfully beautiful experience as well. A huge fan of the pixel art they decided to use. The ambiance brought by the BGM was great, especially for the tense moments of the game, but also made for a light and heartwarming experience in the more tender moments. A must play for psychological horror fans, for sure. Will be on the lookout for future games by the devs.
I've been playing for almost 4h so far, it is so cool how the characters are far more expressive now in comparison with the demo. The chat funny dialogues are my favorite so far. If you played Emily is away or Coffee Talk before, you certainly would enjoy this game :)
Just finished the game (you can probably remove half an hour of my play time because I left it running a bit and also backtracked to see the other choices). It's pretty good honestly. I expected it to be mostly horror, but it's more of a mystery VN with some light horror elements. The atmosphere is great, the office is cozy and creepy at times and it's constantly raining, which adds to it all (the music is also fitting). The characters are the star of the show for me, they're well written and each scene with them was fun to read. I honestly wish there were more scenes with them and the chats on your PC updated with more of their chat logs, but I kinda get why that didn't happen. The pixel artstyle is very well made as well, the characters are clearly inspired by anime and they look great imo, some of the more important scenes are also very well done. As for the story itself, it was alright. I won't go too much into the details, but the main premise is that one night, while working overtime, a desk appears that wasn't there before, the PC turns on and tells you that if you don't find the password you will lose your life. The mystery was intriguing enough for me at the start and some of the scenes were good, but not all of them hit it for me, specifically the more mystery/horror ones. I do think it'll resonate with quite a few people and some of the parts did resonate with me as well, but I honestly simply preferred the more down to earth scenes with your coworkers. I also feel like the story was a bit too disjointed at times, but maybe that's just me. Edit: I also remembered the blogpost of devs mentioning that they had to wrap up development of the game as they had ran out of time/money and it kinda shows. As the latter half of the story does seem rushed and it feels like some of the story was thrown aside to wrap it all up
(and to hammer in the message of the story one last time)
which is a bit of a shame. The only other complaint I have about the game is that there's no option to skip text that you've read already. Had to mash enter/left mouse click during a couple of parts because of it. I do hope we get to see more VNs/games from you guys in the future. tl;dr ok story that's kinda rushed, fun main cast of characters, great atsmophere
What a great horror game. There’s a lot more going on beneath the surface, which is always really cool. The story deserves multiple playthroughs.
Oh god how I've been waiting for this. I loved the name, loved art style and felt like this game would understand something I've been through. And it did, fully. Though I see how many things were changed since demo, I still loved it. For all hard workers out there, this one for you. And thank you, Poética Software, for not dropping the game, it means a lot me
