Space Otter Charlie

I finished Space Otter Charlie this morning after buying it about two nights ago and even though it's a smaller game I still had an absolute blast playing it! The art and designs are nice to look at, the story kept me wondering how and when our heroes were going to find a planet to call home, and the levels were fun to navigate. It's not a super long game and can be completed quickly if you take a few hours to sit down and play it, however sometimes a good short game is all we need to have fun. I definitely recommend picking it up and playing it if you want a game that is still fun, but doesn't require too much dedication and time to get through. I would love to see more extra levels to explore if somehow doable in the future. Until then I can definitely see myself coming back to replay this from time to time.

Fantastic game. I've really enjoyed playing this game, i love the art direction and story (a bit short), overall a great game that i recommend. Space Otter Charlie has that classic arcade feel to it and it's a hidden gem.

Хорошая игра, за 7-8 часов можно пройти на 100% Достаточно разнообразные уровни и враги; оружия хватает , каждая пушка по-своему уникальна; головоломки простые, но заскучать не дают. К минусом отнес бы музыку, хочется динамичных саундтреков, да побольше. В целом, стоит хотя бы попробовать. Ну а если вы любите выдр, то точно рекомендую :-)

Otter fact: Otters would probably fair very well in zero-G environments due to their keen sense of balance, orientation and fantastic puzzle solving abilities, with their dextile hands capable of tool use, one can imagine with a little more brains, they might be next in line to inherit the earth.. or the stars! Anywho, Space Otter Charlie manages to combine zero-G platforming, physics puzzling and shooting in a very cohesive and engaging manner, sometimes surprising you with the pressure it can put on you to apply all you've learnt, as well as flex those puzzle solving muscles. What did surprise me, as someone whose played tonnes of action-shooters, is how creative some of the monsters you encounter are, some will have you sweating while you are trying to solve puzzles, there is one.. pixelated foe, I wont spoil, that has a bit of a clever rhythm to fighting it. I wasn't expecting intense combat, but the cleverness of some enemy design was very welcome. What really is the appeal of the game however isn't its shooting at monsters per say, in fact a lot of the shooting you'll be doing is for puzzle solving, its the zero-g physics puzzling! A lot of the game revolves around manipulating the velocity and trajectory of certain items, and Charlie the otter himself, to solve and remove certain barriers, often as simple as pushing a block into an inaccessible button, or some that involve you riding an item, whilst shooting buttons to enable and disable environmental hazards and pulling of some quick thinking whilst doing it. Often solving these, especially the more time sensitive and execution oriented puzzles, leads to that huge satisfaction, classic puzzle game feel of "aha, thats how you do it" and then "wahoo!!! i did it!" Whilst I enjoyed my time with this game, it was quite short, and its sad to see the game didn't gain much traction, because i'd very much enjoy a sequel, possibly even a 3d one! Ahh, but at least I get to be the one to have enjoyed it, and maybe if i can tell more people about it, the game will get the traction it needs for the developers to know, we want some more please!!

En Space Otter Charlie, adelantamos nuestro calendario al año 2500 para conocer la aventura de tres valientes nutrias, las cuales se ponen sus trajes espaciales para encontrar un planeta nuevo en el que poder vivir junto a sus entrañables amigos. Pero no será tarea sencilla, puesto que el espacio exterior tiene unas dimensiones grandiosas y la mayoría de planetas han sido habitados previamente por los humanos y sus malévolos inventos científicos. Únase a esta increíble aventura y brinde a los seres vivos una segunda vida, lejos del calentamiento global que asecha la Tierra. [h1]Pro/s:[/h1] - Increíble diseño: Estilo de dibujo, niveles, enemigos/jefes junto a sus habilidades, el humor tan característico, etc. - Mecánica de juego con gravedad cero. - Dificultad apropiada para los logros. [h1]Contra/s:[/h1] - Construbot solamente te deja fabricar un objeto. [i](Se hace tedioso construir diferentes cosas, ya que debes salir y situarte nuevamente en la plataforma)[/i] - Me faltan bloques de datos y todos los mapas me aparecen al 100%. [i](Me genera bastante confusión)[/i] El juego me apareció por primera vez en el apartado "[i]A jugadores como tú les gusta[/i]" e inmediatamente lo agregué a mi lista de deseados. Finalmente terminé comprándolo y he conseguido pasarlo durante el fin de semana, aunque todavía me falta bastante para tener todos los logros. Me ha encantado el diseño tan caricaturesco de los personajes y la mecánica de gravedad cero a conseguido atraparme. Por otra parte, considero que el juego tiene una crítica bastante fuerte a lo destructivos que somos los seres humanos y como nos adueñamos y abandonamos las cosas a nuestro antojo y beneficio. Aunque considero que tiene algunos aspectos que mejorar, realmente espero que el estudio tenga éxito y en el futuro nos sorprenda con una segunda parte de la aventura, donde corrijan estos aspectos menores. El juego está centrado en la categoría plataforma, aunque cuenta con unos toques de metroidvania y puzle bastante curiosos. Recomiendo este juego a todo el mundo, aunque su diseño pueda parecer bastante infantil. Finalmente, mencionar que la historia principal tiene una duración de unas 4-5 horas, el 100% de logros lo indicaré cuando termine de conseguirlos todos. [h1]Nota: 8.5/10[/h1]
