It's an okay game to grab, do some mindless shooting and then hop off but it takes too long to progress the story in any meaningful way and the formula and level design / gameplay loop barely deviates from what you experience the first 2-3 hours, it ends up feeling like a slog to go through the same looking levels with the same looking enemies using the same guns, the roster of weapons feels really small honestly At the time of this review I have completed 55 levels and the game still feels the same as the first few hours but the difference being that now I'm getting burnt out of doing the same stuff over and over, the minigames are somewhat fun at first but the novelty wears off quickly and becomes unbearable especially the pokemon style mini game made me disable them altogether. Having to choose only 1 weapon to keep at the end of the level feels pretty bad because for some reason even though I have a lot of upgrades to get better chances of higher quality weapons I mostly just get junk that doesn't do much on the later levels so I have to resort to going with the same okayish gun each time. The game simply overstays it's welcome far too long with how little variety there is in the gameplay as you play it but I'd still recommend it since at least it is entertaining to play for a bit
the "roguelike" features are just the fact that its randomized and you lose your guns after every level. so that its different. wow. i want to like this game, was really exited to play it but its basically just a doom mod. thats what it feels like at least.
great game
FUN, UNDERRATED
I've played this game on GOG before and it was really good. I had to buy it again on steam, since we now have coop and again, its great! The only downsides are the performance dips and the lag on multiplayer, but nothing really serious that will prevent you from playing.
Incredible! Visuals and vibes on point! Weapons are all fun! Soundtrack is peak! On NG+ and just discovered my first unique named weapon after 60 hours in game. The games still throwing new things at me. The random weapon modifiers create some insane things. Well well well worth the price of admission.
This game is insane, and the fact that it takes place in a mental institution makes it all the more insane. Ah! The game itself. The game is a very fun shooter featuring a female protagonist locked in an institution just serves to make it all the more gripping.
Decent game, good for shutting your brain off and shooting at things.
Not utterly terrible but pretty poor. Kinda like Doom, but without the good design. Worse graphics in 2026 than in 1993. More boring enemies, guns, and levels. Just play Doom. Oh you really want some random weapons? Most of them are garbage. You end up just using your best one. But the skill tree and meta-progression? Have fun playing bad Mario minigames to unlock every upgrade. Ah, but surely as the word 'roguelike' has been thrown about we can expect some white-knuckle difficulty? Nope it's so easy it's boring. I died deliberately just to see if anything would change about the game. I kept expecting there to be something intelligent or surprising behind it all, but no. The price is ludicrous. Get Doom, there are better free Doom mods than this.
