About

Night Slashers is a pulse-pounding, horror-themed beat 'em up game, in a nightmarish world filled with bloodthirsty creatures and unspeakable horrors. Prepare to step into the shoes of the unlikely heroes, as they battle hordes of supernatural foes and terrifying monsters.
In Night Slashers, you're not just fighting for survival: you're battling to save the world from a supernatural apocalypse. Join the fight, experience the adrenaline, and embrace the horror. Your darkest nightmares await…

Night Slashers, a classic arcade game originally developed by DATA EAST in 1993, still stands as one of the best titles in the beat 'em up genre to this day! Gameplay consists of seven distinct stages, each subdivided into multiple sections. You can advance by navigating from left to right within each stage, combating waves of enemies to progress.
Attempting to proceed further without eliminating foes halts the screen’s scroll until all the threats are dealt with. Upon reaching the end of each level, a climactic showdown with a formidable boss awaits. Achieve victory over the boss to advance.
Classic Beat 'Em Up Gameplay:Night Slashers: Remake stays true to its roots, offering classic side-scrolling beat 'em up action reminiscent of genre-defining games like Streets of Rage and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Players will battle through multiple levels, including one secret stage, each culminating in a showdown with a powerful boss.
Four Playable Characters: Choose from three unique characters from the classic version of the game, plus an additional character added in the remake!
Local Multiplayer for Up to Four Players: You don’t have to face the restless hordes of the undead alone—team up with up to four players in local multiplayer mode, where each player controls a different character with an extensive set of moves.
Advanced Combat Mechanics: Master a variety of combat options, including combos, jump attacks, grappling moves, and running strikes. Each character also has devastating special moves that can turn the tide of battle—at the cost of some of their own health.
Spectacular Screen-Clearing Attacks: When the situation gets dire, unleash a powerful screen-clearing attack that decimates all enemies in sight. These attacks come with a significant health cost, but the carnage they unleash is well worth the sacrifice.
Diverse and Horrifying Enemies: Face off against an army of the undead, including zombies, mutants, werewolves, and other nightmarish creatures. Each level is packed with terrifying foes and iconic horror-themed bosses like Dracula, mummies, golems, and Frankenstein's monster.
Night Slashers: Remake stands out with its grim, horror-infused world. The game features atmospheric music and cartoon-style gore that will delight fans of classic horror movies and games alike.
Additional Custom Modes: In the Remake version, you can set your own rules for the game beyond the classic difficulty levels. Time limits? Exploding corpses? It's all here. But are you brave (or crazy) enough to try it?

....... \_☠_ ▄▂_ .........[█|||███████]▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▃▂ ..__▂▅█ Mafia do Retrogame █▅▄▃▂ I███████████████████████████] ...◥⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙◤ CANAL MAFIA DO RETROGAME - YOUTUBE @mafiadoretrogame https://www.youtube.com/@mafiadoretrogame GAMEPLAY ATÉ ZERAR! https://youtu.be/ossuQbFk1Hs
Not the best remake (as others have stated, there's quite a bit of wonky behaviour in game mechanics that weren't present in the original arcade) but still absolutely worth a playthrough for people looking for a decent beat 'em up to play with friends. More so if you catch it on sale.
Night Slasher is just a bad money grab the hitbox is atrocius , you are better with the openbor version. the graphics and gore are tonned down no invincible frames when you grab someone They destroy my favorite beat up infinite sadness
Cortito, pero interesante. Vale le pena en oferta
Night Slashers: Remake is a bold attempt to resurrect a cult-classic arcade beat ’em up and reintroduce it to a modern audience without stripping away its outrageous personality. Developed by Storm Trident S.A. and published by Forever Entertainment S.A., this remake draws heavily from the 1993 original, preserving its horror-inspired identity while updating the presentation and structure for contemporary platforms. The result is a game that wears its arcade roots proudly, embracing excess, gore, and straightforward action rather than reinventing itself as a modern, system-heavy brawler. From the moment the action begins, the game makes its intentions clear. Night Slashers: Remake is unapologetically old-school in its design philosophy, built around side-scrolling combat where progression is locked behind clearing waves of enemies. The screen fills with undead creatures, mutants, and grotesque monstrosities, all demanding constant movement, crowd control, and aggressive offense. This relentless pacing mirrors the arcade experience it originates from, creating a sense of pressure that pushes players to stay engaged and reactive rather than cautious or tactical. The game rarely gives players time to rest, reinforcing its identity as a pure action-driven experience. Visually, the remake opts for a modernized, cartoon-styled aesthetic that sharply contrasts with its brutal subject matter. Characters, enemies, and environments are more exaggerated and colorful than the gritty pixel art of the original, making combat more readable amid the chaos. Blood effects, enemy animations, and screen-filling attacks add to the spectacle, amplifying the horror theme in a way that feels intentionally over-the-top rather than unsettling. While this art direction may divide fans of the original arcade look, it succeeds in clearly communicating gameplay information during hectic encounters, which is crucial for a brawler that thrives on constant enemy pressure. Combat mechanics are intentionally simple, built around accessible inputs that allow players to jump in immediately. Each playable character brings a slightly different feel to the battlefield, with variations in speed, reach, and special attacks. These special moves often consume health, preserving a classic risk-versus-reward mechanic that forces players to weigh survival against efficiency. While the combat lacks the layered combo systems and advanced mechanics found in more modern beat ’em ups, it compensates with sheer intensity and enemy volume. This simplicity keeps the experience approachable but can also lead to repetition, especially during longer sessions. Level design follows a familiar structure, guiding players through a series of horror-themed stages that culminate in boss fights inspired by classic monsters and sci-fi nightmares. These bosses serve as memorable highlights, often demanding pattern recognition and positioning rather than brute force alone. However, the journey between bosses can feel repetitive, as enemy types and encounter setups do not evolve significantly over time. The game leans heavily on nostalgia and thematic flair rather than mechanical escalation, which may limit its long-term appeal for players seeking constant novelty. Narrative elements are minimal and largely serve as justification for the carnage. The story frames the playable characters as supernatural warriors battling an impending apocalypse, but this premise remains firmly in the background. Short interludes and visual panels provide context without interrupting the flow of action, maintaining the arcade-like rhythm of play. While this approach fits the genre, it also means players looking for deeper storytelling or character development will find little to latch onto beyond the game’s aesthetic and premise. Multiplayer is where Night Slashers: Remake truly shines. Local cooperative play transforms the experience into chaotic, high-energy fun, with up to four players sharing the screen and amplifying the spectacle. Coordinating attacks, reviving fallen allies, and collectively managing enemy swarms adds a layer of emergent strategy and humor that the solo experience lacks. However, the absence of online multiplayer feels like a missed opportunity in a modern release, especially for a game that thrives on shared chaos and group play. Overall, Night Slashers: Remake is a faithful and passionate revival that prioritizes nostalgia, intensity, and accessibility over innovation. It does not aim to redefine the beat ’em up genre, nor does it attempt to compete with more mechanically complex modern titles. Instead, it offers a raw, horror-infused brawler that feels like stepping back into an arcade cabinet, complete with all the strengths and limitations that implies. For fans of classic beat ’em ups and players who enjoy loud, gory, cooperative action, it delivers a satisfying and energetic experience, even if its appeal is firmly rooted in the past. Rating: 6/10
A Fun Modern Take on a Horror Beat ’Em Up Night Slashers Remake succeeds in bringing one of the most underrated arcade beat ’em ups to a new generation. The core gameplay is still incredibly fun, and the remake adds enough new features to keep both newcomers and longtime fans entertained. The 4-player co-op is easily one of the best additions. Fighting through hordes of monsters with four players is absolute chaos in the best way possible, making every stage feel more exciting and encouraging replayability. The updated soundtrack is another major highlight. The new arrangements give the game a fresh identity while still fitting the horror atmosphere perfectly. The music keeps the action moving and complements the remake’s modern presentation. I also really enjoyed the Custom Game options . Being able to tweak different gameplay settings adds a lot of replay value and lets you tailor the experience however you want, whether you’re looking for a casual run or something much more challenging. That said, the remake isn’t perfect. Some of the character animations feel a bit janky, especially during certain attacks and movement, making the game feel less polished than it could have been. My biggest disappointment, however, is the lack of an option to play with the original arcade graphics. Including a classic visual mode would have been a fantastic way to preserve the original experience while giving players the choice between old and new. Despite those issues, Night Slashers Remake is still a very enjoyable beat ‘em up that respects the spirit of the arcade classic while adding worthwhile new features. If you’re a fan of arcade brawlers, horror themes, or cooperative games, it’s definitely worth checking out.
