About

In News Tower, dive into the chaos of 1930s New York in a management tycoon game where you build and manage your own newspaper.
From the Great Depression to the brink of World War II every Sunday brings a new deadline, and every article is a strategic decision. Between editorial dilemmas, newsroom breakdowns, and political pressure, you’ll shape the future of your newspaper to start your media empire!

Start with a blank floor and shape your newsroom from the ground up. As your newspaper grows, unlock new levels and transform each one into a fully functional hub of journalism. From printing stations and compositing desks to the legal corner for damage control, every workstation is key to keep the presses running.
Smart layout choices: walls, elevators, pneumatic tubes directly impact how efficiently your team works under pressure. And because morale matters too, add coffee machines, posters, and the essential indoor green plant to ensure your employees’ well-being!

Reporters, photographers and janitors without forgetting the unexpendable ads salesperson… Lead a diverse team across 30+ unique job roles each with their own traits, needs, and expertise.
Juggle hunger, focus and logistics to maximize productivity. Unlock dozens of upgrades from gramophone to slot machines, to turn your dingy tower into a prestigious workspace. A happy newsroom is a productive newsroom, especially when Sunday is always just around the corner.

Each week begins with one goal: getting your edition ready for Sunday’s deadline. Assign leads to your reporters, choose your editorial approach, influence public perception through your chosen tone and tags, and compose your newspaper.
Cover key topics like Crime, Politics, or Sports, and refine your story’s angle to match your editorial line. Well-researched articles or eye-grabbing headlines, will you aim for respect or reach?
Every choice impacts your readers’ perception, reactions, and sales. Nail the mix and profits soar or miss the mark and you risk backlash, lawsuits, or courtesy visits from the mob...

Four major factions partake in the city’s power struggle: the Mayor, the Mafia, the Military (in 1.0), and High Society. They’ll push their own agendas and offer shady deals in exchange for cash, influence, exclusive rewards, and vital new connections across the Big Apple. Whose truth will you print, and whose secrets will you bury?
Not everyone is in favor of freedom of the press…

Publish your newspaper across NYC districts, from Harlem to Wall Street. Each borough has its own reader profiles, preferences, and rewards. To grow your subscriber base, tailor stories to local tastes while staying ahead of two aggressive rivals: the Empire Observer and Jersey Beacon. They’ll steal your precious scoops but by targeting the right interests, you can win their audiences and become New York’s most influential publisher.

Muito bom!
This is an addictive mobile-type game. Similar to Fallout's Vault and with similar one-more-turn loop from Civilization. I'm not sure if it's a good game but it is addicting. Despite being about running a newspaper the game itself doesn't have a story or internal dramas - only competition with 2 other newspapers and chosing 2 out 4 NY factions. For some reason every issue is built for one NYC district instead of the full circulation. It doesn't allow you to be a journalist or editor and getting a couple of ads during newspaper prime era is odd, so you won't have all that much money. You can get a lot of influence but it's spent on unlocking new items (like in a mobile game) instead of nudging elections or character assasinations. The interface is really basic and won't let the game evolve into something more complex like Civ. As your publishing house grows you'll need to keep doing everything in manual when you could add managers or promote staff to team leads for automation. This game isn't about journalism but it will suck you for a few days. You won't notice the time fly by you. And watch a guide before playing as it doesn't tell you much - I didn't know that so much money would go on buying boxes of paper and you need to access the paper factory to get a discount. Also figuring out how competitor spies operate and how to counter them was awkward. I hope there will be a second part and it will graduate from a mobile format. I'will gladly buy it.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

brah I got way too hooked
Amazing amount of different game mechanics
This game does a fantastic job of creating a gameplay loop that you can sink your teeth into. You can try to advance quickly on hard mode if you're really wanting a challenge or you can meander your way up the metaphorical food chain with a more relaxed playstyle. I do enjoy the challenge of the first half of the game a bit more than the second part - once you're more established - but honestly it's fun the whole way through.
Intense, but not difficult. Good gameplay, and you can name your news tower anything.
well thought out and unique
It's the kind of game that, once you get into it, can keep you playing for hours without you noticing. The gameplay can be repetitive but that's kind of the point of it. It gets deceptively complex, with room plans, employee managements, etc. If you're a perfectionist, and a Publisher Tycoon at heart, you'll love this one!
