About

In News Tower, dive into the chaos of 1930s New York in a management tycoon game where you build and manage your own newspaper.
From the Great Depression to the brink of World War II every Sunday brings a new deadline, and every article is a strategic decision. Between editorial dilemmas, newsroom breakdowns, and political pressure, you’ll shape the future of your newspaper to start your media empire!

Start with a blank floor and shape your newsroom from the ground up. As your newspaper grows, unlock new levels and transform each one into a fully functional hub of journalism. From printing stations and compositing desks to the legal corner for damage control, every workstation is key to keep the presses running.
Smart layout choices: walls, elevators, pneumatic tubes directly impact how efficiently your team works under pressure. And because morale matters too, add coffee machines, posters, and the essential indoor green plant to ensure your employees’ well-being!

Reporters, photographers and janitors without forgetting the unexpendable ads salesperson… Lead a diverse team across 30+ unique job roles each with their own traits, needs, and expertise.
Juggle hunger, focus and logistics to maximize productivity. Unlock dozens of upgrades from gramophone to slot machines, to turn your dingy tower into a prestigious workspace. A happy newsroom is a productive newsroom, especially when Sunday is always just around the corner.

Each week begins with one goal: getting your edition ready for Sunday’s deadline. Assign leads to your reporters, choose your editorial approach, influence public perception through your chosen tone and tags, and compose your newspaper.
Cover key topics like Crime, Politics, or Sports, and refine your story’s angle to match your editorial line. Well-researched articles or eye-grabbing headlines, will you aim for respect or reach?
Every choice impacts your readers’ perception, reactions, and sales. Nail the mix and profits soar or miss the mark and you risk backlash, lawsuits, or courtesy visits from the mob...

Four major factions partake in the city’s power struggle: the Mayor, the Mafia, the Military (in 1.0), and High Society. They’ll push their own agendas and offer shady deals in exchange for cash, influence, exclusive rewards, and vital new connections across the Big Apple. Whose truth will you print, and whose secrets will you bury?
Not everyone is in favor of freedom of the press…

Publish your newspaper across NYC districts, from Harlem to Wall Street. Each borough has its own reader profiles, preferences, and rewards. To grow your subscriber base, tailor stories to local tastes while staying ahead of two aggressive rivals: the Empire Observer and Jersey Beacon. They’ll steal your precious scoops but by targeting the right interests, you can win their audiences and become New York’s most influential publisher.

I had a hard time to catched up with the phase because the text and button is too small on Steam Deck.
Warning: this game is an absolute timekiller - You wouldn't feel the hours of RL passing.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really like the concept!
I’ve played longer than the stats show. This is truly a great game that has kept me interested for many Mondays—my usual gaming day. It’s not necessarily the kind of game you play for hours and hours, day after day. Instead, it’s perfect to pick up from time to time and print a few newspapers. The strong side of the game is its very addictive core loop. You print newspapers, unlock new features, expand across the map, and gain more subscribers. Everything contributes to building a larger newspaper empire. A good game always balances achievement with resistance, and this one hits the right pace for me. Progress comes steadily enough to keep things interesting. Since the game focuses on producing a single thing—the newspaper—it has to do that well, and it does. There are enough engaging mechanics along the way, such as shaping public perception and completing smaller tasks connected to the territories you want to take over. The main weakness may also be part of its strength: the loop is so central that I find myself taking breaks between sessions (usually playing weekly) to keep it fresh. I also sometimes struggled to keep track of all my reporters and the many half-finished reporting trails. There is a small notification when one case in a chain is completed, but it’s easy to miss. These are fairly minor issues, though. As of spring 2026 the game is still actively supported, with developers continuing to add content, so some of these things may well be improved over time. A DLC could help expand the content further and prolong the overall playtime. There might also be ways to reduce the sense of repetition that can build up from week to week.Another possibility would be new types of reporting and editorial mechanics. Investigative journalism could involve longer story chains, hidden leads, whistleblowers, or risks of backlash from powerful groups. Cultural reporting, war correspondence, or financial journalism could each introduce new mechanics and influence different parts of society. The game could also deepen the internal management of the newspaper itself. More developed newsroom systems— rival newspapers reacting to your stories, or editorial debates over the tone of coverage—could add layers without breaking the core loop. This would keep the central mechanic of producing newspapers intact while giving players more meaningful decisions.
Incroyable(Restent 2 - 3 trucs à peaufiner et c'est parfait)
the game is good, but saving is bad, sometimes you would save a game, and it will start from few days before. all changes gets lost, whatever you did have to do again. game keep crashing once you go higher its frustrating to play .overall OK but repetetive and annoying because its sometimes too easy and it will still require game barrier of completing task which you can easily club. overall a 4/10
Really fun tycoon game with an interesting concept! Gameplay-wise, it's very simple to understand and takes a bit of tinkering to master. It can get frustrating at times with the risk-events or when you can't seem to find the news category you need, but it's nothing of the game's fault. The progression is smooth enough as you unlock more of the map and the game at times urges you towards certain unlockable mechanics. My only critique is that the reputation system with the factions locks you out of their opposite entirely. I would appreciate if we could progress to a certain degree with all factions, although I get the reason why it is the way it is. Other than that the other aspects of the game is amazing. Visuals are great and the music is very catchy. I find myself zooming into the little animations that happen in your tower or idly listening to the background music. It's a good game that you can either play for hours on end or something that you continually pick up once in a while.
SimTower meets the 1930's newsroom. It sounds like it shouldn't be that great but what's presented is a masterpiece. There's a lot to work with here and you'll primarily be focussing on each weeks newspaper ensuring it is coherent and provides a focus to readers. To do that you need to get the stories, then lay them out. You'll need all the people in your tower to be on point, focussed on roles they excel at to make the best paper you can all while manager their lives in the tower. It's excellent.
Just noticed I've played this for 23 hrs but haven't reviewed it?? Anyway, GREAT management game and surprisingly addictive. It has that "just one more turn" compulsion, but instead of turns it's "just one more week/one more paper". I decided I wanted to get in with the mafia, given that I was running my paper in 1930's NYC, which made the mayor hate me but that's ok. I can publish a little mafia propaganda as a treat.
