I absolutely adore this game as both an aspiring climber and a fan of cairn and peaks of yore. But It must be said that at times it can be a bit frustrating with how sometimes the character just doesnt seem to do what you want them to do. And also the crashing. The game frequently crashes in the middle of a route which is extremely demoralizing. Any tips to fix this would be great. Or an update from the devs to make it happen less. Other than these issues the game is super addicting. I just wish there were more trad climbing maps instead of just the boulders and the semi urban climbing maps. Dont get me wrong those are fun too but some big walls would be a lot more enjoyable for me personally. Keep up the good work devs! :)
For obvious reasons, I'm comparing New Heights to Peaks of Yore. This game is far more nuanced than something like Peaks of Yore, so for me it scratches that 'parkour/climbing' better. HOWEVER, because of that increased nuance (especially with how physics-based everything is combined with the procedural grip points) this game is also FAR more frustrating and janky than Peaks of Yore. Most of the time this game feels really good to play, but every little hitch in the experience makes an already difficult game infinitely more irritating. It's the little things, like how the character is literally unable to stand and walk normally if you have a rope attached to your harness, how about 20% of all the grip points feel inconsistent and too weak, or how for some reason they decided to make all your limbs collide with each other so you end up tangling your arms and legs together when the mountain decides to make you play Twister. The game is good, again it REALLY scratches that climbing itch that Peaks of Yore introduced me to, but it so very desperately needs some polish on the gameplay front. idgaf about the janky animations or the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ standing and walking controls or even more content, I just want the climbing to not make me want to rip my ears off and eat them out of frustration. with a side of fava beans and a nice chianti.
Polezuvci pretty good simple fun only thing when you chose spot to put your limbs at it shows green but then turns orange, prob becausae other limbs don't have enough grip to hold not sure, it is bit annoying not sure where i can step It is not even clunky very good actually, and you have multiple difficulties and community maps, devs really spent time thinking how to create this u can read their article Also one thing i don't like she is pelvis oriented weight she has almost 0 strength to pulll in her arms, i cannot figure certain passages how to get up This game is rock solid 9/10, i don't mind that other issues climbing is really good , some parts might be difficult , but i have 0 experience and i doing most levels just fine. Forget community levels , but there is a lot of locations and timed runs and game has replayability 100% recommend this sOME FEEDBACK: i dislike tho how i can reach with a hand for new place and then if it is not stable i cannot reach back to previous place where i held
I've tried playing many times. There was a period after an update where massive blobs appeared over the end of your hands and feet and you couldn't see where you were trying to place your limbs. They've been removed now. I did the tutorial, no problems at all but the first area of climbing I still can't do. I've found myself at the edge of some graphics that have nothing behind them halfway up the rock on the right, I have no idea what will happen if I climb into this hole that goes no where, graphically. When you reach a flat area you still have to guide each foot one at a time which feels like you're learning to work. I think it would be useful if, once you get your feet on a flat surface you walk normally to the next bit of climbing. The game looks good and I hope it reaches it's potential but right now it doesn't feel near potential.
LE JEU EST VRAIMENT PAS TRES BIEN SA SE PRESENTE COMME REALISTE MAIS LA PHISIQUE EST BIZZARE LES BRAS ET LES JAMBES DU PERSO SONT PLUS PROCHES DU SPHAGETTIS QUE DE L HOMME LE PERSO SE RETROUVE DANS DES POSITIONS BIZZARES DES FOIS T ES SUSPENDU PAR LES PIEDS Y A LA MECANIQUE DU DINO QUI DANS LE JEU MARCHE UNE FOIS SUR DEUX ET EN PLUS LE JEU EST PAS TRES BEAU BREF PAS UN BON JEU SI VOUS VOULEZ JOUER UN AUTRE JEU D ESCALADE JOUER A CAIRN ET LE JEU PROPOSERAIS 280 VOIES MAIS S EST JUSTE DES ESPECES DE DEFIS ET NON DES ZONES OU DES NIVEAUX SI ON COMPTE IL Y A UN PEU MOINS D UNE DIZAINES DE NIVEAUX
great game. bit buggy at times but It is actually great
awesome
It's not the perfect simulation of climbing, but it certainly feels like climbing. A lot of things you do in the real wall can be replicated in the game.
Dobra gierka , prawdziwe trasy wspinaczkowe, polecam
It's great fun when you ignore the jank.
