Pros: + The new art style is a breath of fresh air, and I really like it. + The handling isn't bad at all I actually enjoyed it. + The map isn't very memorable, but it's beautiful. Cons: - The story is pretty mid. - Most of the soundtrack is forgettable. - The grind is excessive. I like that the game doesn't hand you a supercar from the start and makes you earn better cars, but this one takes it way too far. I purchased it during a 90% sale, and i think it's worth it if you get it in a sale.
This game is odd. On the one hand it looks great for what it is. The added cartoony visuals add something you aren't getting in other racers but that's about it. The story exist. The game is a grind. It has tight handles, plays well, and has good graphics but its not fun. Want a big garage, forget it, its abut taking 3-5 cars and slowly getting money, it doesn't feel as loose an open as other need for speed games. For example, I picked the Eclipse to start. You can't. It's to bad, you have no money and no shot. The level cap A, A+,B, B+ sucks, in the early tiers you can't upgrade a car without going over the level cap. But by far my least favorite part, you cannot switch or mod cars after you select leave the garage. It makes the game unplayable. Have a bad race, wanna upgrade you engine, nope. Go to garage save and lose all the potental progress you could have made, you have no room to upgrade, practice, then race. It makes zero sense when the game 'hard locks' you in a day-night session cycle. I waited until this game was on sale and I'm glad I did, there is a fun game here if you can handle poop to get there. Can't recommend it, the grind sucks the joy out of it. If you do want to play, I recommend waiting until the ultimate edition is on sale, a use the free cars until A+ rank, then the game feels fun.
this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game doesnt even properly launch, waste of money
Bought this to escape the cops. Ended up with 5 Heat because I touched a mailbox.
