Necrosphere is pretty hard but you can get the hang of it! I enjoyed the limited controls as it makes for great puzzle solving. 10/10
PT-BR um bom jogo de 2d, fácil de jogar e gameplay divertida, porem passa muita raiva nas faces se n for pro player desse estilo de jogo EUA- a good 2d game, easy to play and fun gameplay, but there is a lot of anger in the faces if you are not a pro player of this style of game
So far, it's been a lot of fun until I got the dash. It. Is. Garbage. At :24 seconds in the above trailer, you'll see him dashing from platform to platform, except for in that area, the dash hardly works at all. 100% success anywhere else. This area? Dash refuses to work 80% of the time. I get it's a "2 button game," but double-tapping to use a the dash when a third button to activate an ability would be way nicer and actually make sense. I've confirmed a bug in this area by using a turbo-controller. Dash rate of 100% success with it as well until you get to this area, than it just decides the dash doesn't want to work anymore. Highly irritating.
Quite good! This is a really hard platformer with some excellent puzzles/sequences. The one thing I didn't like was the lack of lenience on the dash as it kept feeling like I was making mistakes when the timing was just rather tight. There's a super high skill ceiling with this game which is super cool, and I'm just barely high enough to beat it. The DVD hunt is also pretty cool for completionists.
A primeira impressão?
This is an amazing little monster of a platformer! It will destroy your hands if you are playing on a controller! Doesn't matter if you are a hardcore platformer gamer. This game will crush you and tear you apart. Level desing is incredible! The developers took only 2 buttons and pushed it to the extreme adding certain game mechanics after certain game progress to keep it fresh and challenging! I find it difficult nowadays to play a fair difficult and well desinged game like this one! The base game alone is hard enough to die literally more than a thousand time! It took me a little more than 4 hours to finish it with all the collectables! But.... Then I went for the DLC (Terry's Dream). OMG. Why? The DLC will make you cry and question your very own existence and why are you torturing yourself with this amazing but brutal game at 4am.... My hands were broken of pain and I took some rest because I couldn't believe the brutallity of some sections here! Yeah! For anyone who also beated this DLC you know I am talking about the last full segment, specially the first "free fall" with the fireballs... OMG. That was INSANE.... Never before I think I saw any more brutality in a 2D platformer. Damn. Well. Overall this was a painfull but really enjoyable little beast game! The level desing, challenge and gameplay are top notch! I only recommend this experience to really really hardcore platformer gamers with a lot of patience and trial and error mindset! This is NES hard here! Beware! Necrosphere is a nice beast well designed! 9/10!
"Necrosphere is a mini-metroidvania where you play with ONLY 2 BUTTONS as Terry, the recently-deceased secret agent trying to escape the underworld!" Please don't be put off by the graphics, this is a fun game that needs your attention. I am old enough to remember games like this when these graphics would be state of the art. A time when game-play came first and not how realistic the game looks. And lets be honest here, many games rely on amazing graphics to distract from the fact that the game itself doesn't have much to it. With Necrosphere you control your character with 2 buttons, yes just 2. That being left and right. No jump button, just left and right, and it is this simplicity that really gives this game an edge. And yes you do gain new abilities the further into the game you get, a dash function is an example. But by the time you get that fair you will be much more experienced with the basic controls. And the basic controls are what makes this game not only frustrating but incredibly rewarding too. You see as much as you will shout, swear and moan as you die time after time, when you eventually get it right, you feel as if you should be working for MI6 solving their hardest to solve encryptions. If you asked me to describe this game in one word I would say "Frustrating", but then I would instantly tell you that I need to add "Addictive" immediately after it. Because this game is frustrating, but it is so addictive too that the frustration is very much part of its allure. The learning curve is perfect, and once you have been playing it for a few hours, go and try a new game, and suddenly you will feel like an expert. Surprising good game, and as I said previously frustratingly addictive. Score 8/10
This game is genuinely amazing, but I just can't give it a positive review. There is a point in the game where you have to dash using double click of a keyboard button, but unless you have a good enough keyboard, you physically can't do it, since the window to press the button twice is so low.
