Outra pérola daquelas desconhecidas e muito satisfatória de jogar. O jogo é excelente, os controles são precisos e a dificuldade é bacana. Comprem pois não se arrependerão. Hm, my first review seemed to get eaten. Anyway, I saw this at PAX and thought it looked interesting, but I was so disappointed that this might be the first game I've ever wanted a refund for. I quit about an hour in. The developer, artist, and composer clearly have talent and skill but the result is a bit of a mess. Spoilers ahead. 1. It's clear that there were just not enough ideas to make this game worth the eight dollar asking price. If it were free, it would be a screaming deal. If it were, say, two or three dollars, it might be priced correctly. But it's eight dollars, and the game runs out of interesting material about thirty minutes in. The developers' commitment to have a game with only left and right movement buttons is interesting and makes for a design challenge, but this result got stale fast. Maybe it's possible to make an interesting game with those limitations, but this one wasn't it. I thought, this game being a metroidvania, I would receive power-ups that added features rather than piling on the movement buttons. That might have saved it. 2. The difficulty of the game comes from a bad use of the controls. This is impressive considering there are two buttons. Once you get the jetpack, the game becomes a nightmare to play because it's extremely difficult to make precise inputs. If you press left or right, you move. If you press either button twice quickly, you dash. If you press both, you use the jetpack. Some places in the game require you to finesse between those three abilities very quickly. Does that sound hard? You're wrong. It's *impossible.* The finger dexterity required to suddenly go from pressing left, to pressing both buttons, to pressing left twice quickly, to pressing both, to pressing right, and so on - that is not something worth developing the skill to perform. There's a reason other games would have assigned unique buttons to the dash and jetpack mechanics. 3. While we're on the controls, it's almost always a bad idea to make a double-tap use a separate skill from a single tap of a button - especially if both skills are required to be used one after the other. Few games do it right. I can think of one: Axiom Verge. And that one works because the double-tapping is used somewhat infrequently, never in precision platforming, and never rapidly oscillating direction. 4. Why is there no mini-map? Somehow I got lost in this game. Yes, this tiny game got me lost. There are no interesting landmarks in the world to help me navigate from memory, and it's just too small and flat to justify pulling out the graph paper and mapping it by hand. I wandered around for quite a bit looking for new areas because it was so hard to tell where I'd been and which areas I hadn't explored yet. The only notable difference in locations was the color of the foreground. 5. Most of the time the music is fine. But for the love of god, don't put plain English speaking into a BGM unless it's for an extremely good reason. I had to listen to that hot garbage of a philosophical take for what felt like a million years while I tried to learn how to use the jetpack. It was distracting after 10 seconds, annoying after 1 minute, and infuriating after who knows how long. Lyrics and/or spoken word are rarely used in video game soundtracks for a damn good reason. Despite all this, I hope the developers make new games in the future. I'm sure they have the ability to make something good. This one just wasn't it.
If you like nail biting metrodvania games and want more Celeste-esque feeling games in your life this will be right up your alley.
freakin awesome game!
A VERY challenging game that you have to play through without jumping. For keyboard all you have to rely on is arrow keys, thats it. There are abilities you can unlock in the game that will help you progress. Whole point of this game is simply, get out of there. Theres puzzles you have to solve with challenging obstacles which can be frustrating. Thats pretty much it, gameplay is short but it'll be hard to get by. I suppose that varies how much you progress, to me it wasnt easy. Still, feels good when you finish it.
This little metroidvania is a nice surprise. Very simple controls but challenging, it reminds me of Celeste a little bit. Less complex of course. Anyways, if you like games with precise controls and challenging, give it a try.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. The concept was great. Unfortunately, once acquiring the Double Tap to Jump ability, the game got REAL glitchy for me. Despite turning my refresh rate down to 60Hz, the problem persisted.
This game is fantastic, and fantastically frustrating. The difficulty mostly comes from the controls that are guaranteed to give you a wrist ache. After 1912 respawns to reach the end, I think I will not attempt the no death achievement. :)
