This is the bad side of mindless action shooting. Ever find yourself driving around, you go on mental autopilot and suddenly you're like "I don't remember the last couple turns I took". That's this game.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Don't listen to all the petty hate this game too often gets. If you wanna dive into the beautifully-horrible, dystopian world of 40k and in an fps with high-octane adrenaline and intensity, this game more than delivers. It might take a few missions to get used to everything (e.g. all the different weapon types and their mods which are fun to experiment with btw as they do make a crucial difference and which you can fine-tune to your individual playstyle, using your bionic powers and mastiff, using your grappling hook and the terrain to your advantage etc.) and it might even be frustratingly hard and unforgiving at the beginning. But the care this game shows in its look, style and atmosphere alone keeps amping you up to just get better and shred everything in your path in gory grimdark glory. The only criticisms I have after almost 100%ing it: - missing multiplayer mode (the arena style levels in the "missions" would be perfect for multiplayer deathmatches) - the regaining-hp-mechanic by killing enemies in fast succession was sometimes way too weak/slow whenever you're surrounded by huge groups - while the campaign levels, scripted cutscenes, story etc. were enjoyable and had some great "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" moments, the ending was, in comparison to everything you've gone through before, pretty abrupt and lackluster I have to admit (imo they should've at some point just gone further with the horrors in the Cold Black dome, which never came back again) - lazy dlc-skins (basically just 2 outfit types with different colour tones) All in all though, still a very enjoyable, stank-face-inducing 40k gore-fest.
Necromunda: Hired Gun drops you into one of the grimiest, most badass corners of the Warhammer 40K universe and that’s where the praise mostly ends. The world-building is genuinely great, full of grit, gore, and hive-city charm. But the rest... Combat’s clunky, the story’s forgettable, and the gameplay is as uneven as a gang shootout on a broken catwalk. It had potential, but mostly ends up as a stylish mess. Worth a look for the setting... just don’t expect it to shoot straight.
+This game has incredible W40K Necromunda aesthetics. I loved every bit of it, and it was the main reason I bought it. -Storyline is meh, don't expect much from the story. It is acceptable but nothing groundbreaking. Its a play once and throw away kinda singleplayer game. Although so, the W40K lore representation is solid. +Gunplay is fun, after progressing further in the game, the pace increases by a lot. In later levels it almost becomes a boomer-shooter. There are a medium variety of weapons you can fill your loadout with and choose your playstyle. +There is good amount of attention to detail, if you care about that. -There are some problematic bugs like a key you click sometimes decides not to register in the middle of the combat, but I can't say I encountered any game breaking stuff. -UI is terrible. Whoever designed the menus needs to quit their career and start over. -Controls feel weird and are not very accessible. Some keys are used for a lot of different functionality and that feels off sometimes. +Level design is good, you don't get lost around and you don't repeatedly move around same areas. I can say they have been crafted with care. I'd give it a 6/10, the gameplay compensates the story enough to get you hooked up to the game. Buy it on sale.
I am a massive fan of the 40k universe but not so big a fan that it would blind me from how god awful this game is. I started this game up a while back then stopped playing it, I was looking through my unfinished games and wondered why I dropped this one and quickly found out why. Normally I wait until I finish the game to write a review, especially a bad one, but I am close to shelving this game again, it'll take some willpower to push through it, but I'll try. The main issue I have with the game is what it focuses on which is the combat, it feels like they really wanted to make a Doom-like shooter but all it ended up with is a weak watered down version of Doom with lazy and/or unfinished aspects of the game and a 40k coat of paint. Also they turned the Doom gameplay into a cover shooter for some reason. But the most glaring issue I've seen is the laughable animations, the characters move like first generation console characters. On top of that, the story is uninspired and the soundtrack is lackluster. All in all there is really just no reason to play this game, no matter how much you like 40k, just save your time and money and stay away from this one. UPDATE: Just finished the game, and I can confirm, it only gets worse. I would say more but I don't want to waste any more time on this game than I already have.
Compentent and athmospheric shooter in the Warhammer 40k setting. It's not winning prices for being most innovative, but if you're looking for a shooter that lets you delve deeper into the 40k universe you should not be disappointed. Edit: quick addition: the game can be a bit difficult in the beginning, especially when you try the secondary missions first. It's getting easier once you upgrade your implants.
The rare type of game that's fun, but not very well made. This one is tough to review - I don't recommend it for the average gamer, but there is genuine enjoyment to be had if you enjoy fast-paced FPS's and Warhammer 40k, don't mind a game that's rough around the edges, and you picked this up on a deep sale. I'm giving it a thumbs-up only for that niche. The fast paced combat and your character's powers are what save this game. Major flaws here are the truly awful UI and a poorly executed loot system - but once I got over those I started having fun. Level design is a mixed bag - interesting and highly vertical but sometimes unintuitive and frustrating. The campaign can be cleared in less than 8 hours and there is replayability in completing a variety of short, repeating secondary-missions to earn credits, max out the powers and abilities for your character and your dog and customize your guns.
