About
Engage in intense tactical combat across the vast expanse of space in this heavily simulation-based tactical game featuring everything from kinetic and beam weapons to realistic radar and electronic warfare. Take command of a fleet of space warships tailored to your exact play-style and battle the enemy in single and multiplayer skirmishes, or dive into a narrative campaign – solo or with friends – to lead a strike-force behind enemy lines, managing a limited supply of fuel, munitions, and ships in the face of a growing rebellion.
NEBULOUS: Fleet Command seamlessly blends the thoughtfulness of pre-mission planning, tension of battle decision-making, pressure of real-time action, and pain of inevitable sacrifice into an intense tactical space game that will keep you reflecting on every decision – and mistake – for hours after each battle.
It's in your hands, Commodore.

Take unparalleled control of every unit right down to their individual hardpoints. Keep your entire fleet together, dynamically split off task units, or give each ship its own assignment. Large maps with lots of cover and radar occlusion make methodical positioning and sight lines critical, and massing firepower in one place is not always the best solution, as the enemy could come from any direction in the fully 3-dimensional battlespace. Covering your retreat is always in order.
Group your weapons and task them to different targets or focus fire with everything you have, but bear in mind that weapons have compounding benefits and drawbacks, all of which can be compensated for and planned against. Selecting the appropriate weapon to engage a target is as impactful as deciding which targets to engage at all.

Intelligence is key to victory and your situational awareness is never a given. Asteroids and gas clouds can hide ships behind their radar shadows, preventing sensors from detecting their presence, and ensuring illuminators and fire-control radars are unable to mark targets for missile systems.
When out in the open, electronic countermeasures take the lead as they attempt to jam, scramble, or otherwise mitigate enemy sensors on board their ships and missile systems alike, and ships can opt to run cool, turning a variety of systems inactive in order to more easily hide from detection at the cost of some functionality. Finally, a well-designed formation can provide an extra layer of defense with picket ships screening for capital ships – but multiple ships moving in close proximity produce a larger signature, making them more easily spotted by enemy sensors, especially when exposing a larger face to the enemy.
Occlusion, passive signal detection, balancing radar signature size, and the ability to deceive the enemy makes the fight for intel a critical part of every battle.

Face a growing rebellion in the narrative campaign as you take command of a small strike-force operating behind enemy lines, adapting to its strengths and weaknesses as you face off against increasingly capable enemy forces. Play alone or with friends as you jump from battlespace to battlespace and balance the risk of engaging with secondary objectives that might strengthen your fleet while putting your limited ships in harm's way to accomplish them. Scavenge munitions and fuel from installations and destroyed enemy ships, modifying your arsenal and tactics to overcome evolving circumstances.
Meanwhile, skirmishes against the AI and human opponents allow you to test your mettle in isolated combat scenarios, where fleet design allows you to choose between multiple classes, configuring everything from their munitions storage, power supply unit, and electronic warfare capabilities to their damage control systems, point-defense capabilities, and armaments – right down to the types of missiles each bay carries.
A point cost system keeps fleets balanced as you design battleships, cruisers, frigates, corvettes and more, arriving at the battlespace with little idea as to what your opponent might be fielding. Scouting enemy fleet composition and adapting to their designs will be essential to securing victory, and at times you may spend half the battle (or more) trying to accurately determine your adversary's capabilities so that you can strike with precision and force. Express your tactical identity through the design of your fleet, and each individual ship within.

Each system and subsystem aboard your ships perform specific tasks and are tracked and simulated individually. Their position on your ship can determine optimal facing when unleashing a salvo, or the risk factor when enemy systems open fire. Vital systems should be protected with the help of point-defense systems and defensive maneuvering that presents auxiliary systems towards incoming fire while keeping essential systems hidden behind the armor plating and hull.
Damage is modeled for individual components, determining which ship systems remain active under enemy fire, and damage control teams work rapidly to repair what they can as they move from compartment to compartment. Retreating from active combat to repair damaged components before re-engaging is not only a viable strategy, but at times, an essential maneuver, and in a worst-case scenario, a ship with a breach in its reactor can be quite a potent weapon in its own way.

NEBULOUS has extensive modding support, with hundreds of player-made mods available on Steam Workshop including new maps, ships, weapons, and more. Use the robust Campaign Editor to design your own narrative campaigns, complete with cutscenes, scripted events, custom fleets, and the tools needed to tell and share your own stories in the world of NEBULOUS: Fleet Command.

Game tutorials are broken right now, I'm a new user so learning is a bit hamstrung. Creating a "No" review for awareness. -- Bug notes have been submitted and this has been mentioned in other places. ADV Missileer tutorials and a couple others cannot be completed in the current build which makes this even more difficult (unfortunately) to learn. Currently relegated to using YouTube to supplement. Update Note: It seems to primarily be caused by when ships need to be damaged to advance the tutorial. -- It occurs now in all advanced tutorials. Update Note 2: can't complete first campaign mission after docking and getting fuel. Mission does not continue. Otherwise, most of what I see here is great if not very tedious!
Been following this game on and off since its release in early 2022, always regarding it as a neat space warfare sim, evidently made by a bunch of IRL naval warfare nerds with lots of love for the genre. Sadly, the core gameplay loop of PvE or PvP skirmishes never really appealed to me or my friend group (all air/naval warfare simulation nerds), due to battles generally being decided by devastating salvos in the first 10 minutes, followed by 20 or so minutes slowly mopping up disabled hostiles and/or recovering from heavy damage. They also lacked any persistence and pretty much required spending lots of time in the fleet editor to create a custom task force that could be competitive. As of this month however, we have been having lots of fun playing the new Campaign in COOP with 2-3 friends. It really solved all of our previous gameplay gripes via a slower learning curve due to asymmetric engagements, time acceleration to skip through the slower parts of moving ships, and persistent ships throughout the campaign, forcing you to be cautious in how you employ your limited assets and weaponry. So, in its current state, I can now heartily recommend this game to any air/naval/space warfare nerds!

This and every other Pro feature is free until October 20, 2026. A free account is all it takes.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

ok man first things first game is good but only multiplayer as of now, the game is kinda dead i personally an engineering student hardly have time for any games but this game is actaully and really fun tbh i credit all the developers and mods that made it a game that involves really good depth and core rts mechanics combined with similar real life naval warfare, im not here here to say how the game play is and how t he mechanics are, just watch it fromm other youtube videos, im going to explain the problem with this game SO the game is kinda dead asf, im from asia and most of the player base is from the west, literally no one plays in the morning accordning to my country time, the lobbies are dead and only matches u can play are against the AI which is not that bad but wont satisfy my thirst for nice game, and the amount of time u spend in the game waiting for ppl to load up is astounding and here is my experience, ppl usually run 4v4 maps and theres 5v5 maps as well but these guys are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ toxic that they wont let u play 5v5 because they dont wanna play 5v5, eben if u have enough ppl to play 5v5 they just votekick u from the game because u asked twice the community is toxic and trash as hell ppl get offended over the small things u say and i even got banned from the game for a while because i said i am transphobic which is nothing wrong in my opinion, tbh this game is getting destroyed by the lack of updates and toxic player base , and i somehow the mods are pretty reasonable so i had to appeal and i told them sorry and wont let this happen again. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED!!, the game usually wants u to run a 3000 point fleets, i ran full missiles with nothing but only missiles and the points were 3003 and the guys told me to ♥♥♥♥ off and ask me very rudely to keep 3k fleet and called me im not special so i got mad and replied them ur mom called me special so all of them reported me, and if u get reports u wont be able to join public lobbies for a month or so, rn as i speak ppl keep reporting me and votekcicking me for no reason because they said i had bad aura and i replied them u got bad aura too, so they reported me, im telling u if u want ur mental health to be preserved just ignore this game and wait for a lot of new space game( like falling frontier) which are coming in 2026 soon, personally avoid this game completeley u wont have fun, ppl are toxic and trash as hell they cant take a joke and get offended by each and everything. i wish more men with balls played this game. I really wish ppl get banned for reporting to the pettiest things possible. i paid the game full price to support the devs but guess what all of them let me down. and ppl are very rude insid the game. u can try the game its really good but since only singleplayer and basically a dead game, id recommned u avoid it unless u are unemployed and has nothing to do in life, u can sit in the lobby and wait all day. also if u bring fleets that are bad ppl will report just because ur trash. just dont buy the game and ignore all the positive reviews, theres a lotta rts games comin this year, worth checkin them out than buy this playerbase rotted game edited: after posting this review the community proved me why its toxic , ppl are hating me because i said i am against trans and tbh i didnt openly admit it either, someguy asked me if im transphobe i said yes and dont like gays either, this got me banned in the game any normal men or women tryna play this game ull be met with an toxic community, some guy voteciked me for no reason because i asked for 5v5 in the game, seriously guys this game is really a good one but the community ruined it, and ppl are reporting for no reason guys are just straight up calling me the dog that is a transphobe and the dog that wrote the bad review, all this because i said i am against trans ppl. the community is also very crooked one and not newplayer friendly and ppl are so egoist that they call u dumb for bringing an ass fleet or if u die earlier. A video game i something that i meant to be fun not abusive or oppressive also neither did I hate on the DEV or the people in the game, all the backlash is bcoz i said i dont support trans ppl. all of them be hating on me and think theyre special just bcoz the mods support their bullying. i also have screenshots of the hate towqards me calling like im gonna bang ur mom , im gonna bang ur sister and stuff like that, yeah all of this is accpetable but saying u dont support trans is not OK, yeah very great game, trust me gang i swear on christ just buy a diff game and dont ruin ur mood by playing multiplayer in the game . atleas the dev did a great work doing solo on the game respect that but sad that ppl ruined it. HOPE THE MODS READ THIS and feel proud
Dev has made statements that are simply not forgivable, and their treatment of paying customers is awful.
I want to like this game so badly, but it's un-playable. Controlling ships is a nightmare and you'll have no desire to get through the learning curve because it's very un-satisfying to play. I love complicated games, but I have no idea what's happening here and no desire to learn.
Dead game beyond the two dozen 4000+ hour players, terrible balancing with a clear bias towards the OSP faction, and a toxic community that offers help, but then preceeds to seal club the newer players in matches
I jumped on the HYPE train and got the game cheap in Early Access! I stopped doing that some time ago, but felt i can do exception. Boy i was wrong! I couldnt get through tutorial the way its broken atm! When the game will eventually gets Alpha release or will know for a fact that its working i will change my feedback then!
Now that theres a campaign and more than just fleet editor and skirmish (both of which are good) I can finally recommend this masterpiece. Homeworld type controls with solid more realistic and complex RTS combat.
I'd try the demo fully before buying
