About
Mysteries of Perception is a 2D investigative game structured like a choral narrative where you can jump from one character's perspective to another during the investigation. To gather more clues and progress in your investigation, it will be necessary to collect information from all viewpoints and confront them to reach plausible conclusions. Confirm your theories by consulting the stars. Jump from a past to a future perspective and discover every facet of the mysterious deaths that will be presented to you.
Dive into this dystopian universe with desaturated colors and solve the mysteries that govern the world. Perhaps you will uncover the mystery of your own death...
See through their eyes.
See the world through the eyes of more than five different characters and perceive the scene from their point of view. Some will see details that the ordinary person will overlook. Others will see the world in an even more unique, biased, strange manner. The information you obtain from them will be all the more subtle to decipher...
Each character will provide you with new pieces of the puzzle.
Untangle the plot.
During each investigation you will amass evidence and incriminating elements by interacting with the world around you. You can use them in the Constellarium. You have always thought better when gazing at the stars. By placing your evidence in the right spot, the path to the truth will become clearer and clearer.
Under the Iron Star
The continent has been under the yoke of an authoritarian party for too long. The Astralist Party promotes individuals with high animic potential, considering them superior to others. Dirty tricks and manipulations are multiplying within the party as a revolutionary cell, active for over twenty years, begins to challenge the authorities hold on the artifacts. These relics, are ornate bones from past civilizations that, according to myths, hold powerful powers.

I don't know how to say it in civil terms. This is total farce. This game costs more than any of both DLCs for Case of the Golden Idol, but brings less content and so soft on detective stuff, despite being distinct game with three (yeah, just THREE) cases, which are supposed to be whole story. You are dropped into weird classical world of naive "revolutionary" author - there is evil empire ruling with their faceless or ugly enforcers hunting rebels. There are scientists, who work FOR SCIENCE, ignoring risks of being prosecuted by that empire. There are rebels - diverse, not-so-ugly, good. They could do stuff and kill enforcers because FOR FREEDOM. First case, which is also supposed to be tutorial, consists of figuring out one small act. Easy-peasy ten (five?) minutes long. Second case starts like huge story chunk, but then there are many random characters, who do nothing for plot, aside of some worldbuilding, which is, for game with just three cases, is still abysmal. Your "main dish" is, basically, to watch three small story scenes, then check one small crimescene for evidence, figure out simple truth - and that's all. Third case is weird and little spoilerish mess, which cuts story short implying there will be some sequel. Am I supposed to rely myself to characters, who appear, like, for five minutes? Am I supposed to be fascinated by mystery, which could be solved in three minutes? Am I supposed to think of finale as "grand reveal", which was obvious from start? This whole game could be easily compared to "The Lemurian Vampire", which some people call worst cases in "Idol" series. It uses similar conception. But it falls flat without complicated time-based puzzles, without having characters known to player beforehands, without seeing more than ONE scene from different PoVs (like it, you know, PROMISES in description). This game is also quite more easier to be confused with and became bruteforced in it's third case, due to spaces to fill not being described as "person", "item" or "action". If it were - it would be obvious, therefore - even shorter than it is already. And you may think that such short game with love letter to "Idol" would be fully tested on release? I got "Clues for case 2" achievement without getting all "Autopsy" options and then I got NO achievement "Clues for case 3", despite playing through case twice (without and with "hints eye" included), checking every nook and cranny and reading whole dialogue. I don't know what are these positive reviews, stating "short but good", are. Friends of authors, bought reviews, players lacking experience with genre, perhaps? But this game lacks "eureka" moments of Case and similar games, gameplay is dull, characters are quite stereotyped, narrative parts are too short to be invested into story, which is quite similar to many other "rebel, rebel" stories. It COULD have been great game, if it was having more chapters, more context, even more worldbuilding - but now it's just quick cashgrab with hopes to get lucky sales and then do sequel (for release in 20xx year).
Easy and brief deduction game in which you feel like you do not know the whole story. The game begins without any introduction or tutorial. The setting is a museum, where we meet scientists Flore and her mentor Alaric. If you wish to learn more, you can read a short novel that is included as a PDF file, but the connection with the game appears to be minimal. The main feature of the game is clicking on hotspots on the screen. Although these are not indicated, you can enable the hint option, which adds a little shine to important hotspots. Furthermore, the sparkle fades when you engage with something and learn everything you can from a hotspot. Each hotspot has a default interaction that provides a deeper look at the hotspot and leaves a comment. Some are readable materials that teach you more about the game's universe. Hotspots can also be characters, however they have limited dialogue and cannot be questioned. Movement is constrained because you can only move between static rooms with a single view. Because of the confined location, the game tackles this using distinct characters and times. This means that a room will have new hotspots based on which character you follow and when you visit it. This does not sound that exciting because a location is limited to only a couple of screens. The location overview allows you to change both the time and the characters, but you can only click on what the game offers you. You can’t visit all times with all the characters. Some of the hotspots contain clues. Once collected, you must click on the constellation icon at the top of the screen to review them. This is also where you will find the game's main goal: solve a case. This is accomplished by clicking on stars and selecting a clue that may fit. To assist you, there is a path that leads via stars and suggestions that narrow down the available solutions. For example, if the hint is "Used by", you can deduce that it contains one of the characters. You can attempt as many clues and combinations as you wish because there is no penalty for selecting the incorrect clue. If you make a mistake, the game will inform you that you have more or less than two stars incorrectly. It will not give you an exact amount. However, if everything is correct, a star will extend and reveal new stars that require clues. The objective is to fill all stars with the correct clue and solve the case. Since you have only a few stars, you can brute force the solution. The game comprises three cases, each taking place in a different location yet following the same story. Unfortunately, the story feels disconnected because the cases are so widely apart. It involves some sort of mask that Professor Alaric hopes to employ to communicate with a mysterious being. There is also Major, who wants to stop him. In conclusion, the game feels like fragments of a much bigger story. And, while the mechanics are intriguing, the detective aspect of the game is simple and will not keep you guessing.
A good point-and-click game with a captivating plot that keeps you hooked, evoking a strong sense of mystery! (The name of the game is also very well-chosen haha)
On the positive side

I loved the unique universe, which makes you want to learn more! You can interact with the environment and uncover clues while receiving descriptive information. This adds to the mystery and makes the world feel credible, interesting, and original.
The texts are well-written—not overly descriptive like in the latest Professor Layton game. They strike a good balance, feeding into the characters and enriching the game world in an engaging way.
The characters feel alive with distinct personalities, thanks to how they’re written. I really liked that!
I found the mechanic of playing as multiple characters quite original. Each character has their own perspective on clues and the environment, which enriches the experience and adds depth to the gameplay.
I'm really a fan of the art :a cartoon style with grey/green color tone, it really fit the mood of the game and serves it well !

On the negative side

At times, I got lost because I missed some indications, like the fact that there’s a button at the top to reveal a constellation of clues.
The music wasn’t really my taste, though that’s subjective. However, I did enjoy the sound design.
I encountered a very frustrating bug where the folder/constellation of clues was empty during my first run. I managed to fix it by returning to the main menu and starting a new game. So, if you face the same issue, that’s the solution!

Conclusion
Overall, even if it's not perfect, I definitely recommend this game if you enjoy point-and-click adventures with an intriguing and credible world that feeds your sense of mystery and curiosity, leaving you wanting more!
Very shallow and short experience, the whole game feels like a demo. My play time is probably twice as much as it should take to finish the game, because I restated the game from the begining because of what I though was a bug. (Might have been or might have been a poor design decision, or maybe a translation problem ? not sure...) Perspective from different character is supposed to be important, but it really doesn't feel like it. I was expecting to see the same scene through the eyes of different character, but no, you mainly gather clues in different places depending on which character you are playing. The 3 cases are pretty straightforward and the worldbuilding was disappointing. The characters whoses perspective is supposed to be so important are one dimensional stereotypes. I was mainly disappointed because of the high expectations I formed while reading the description and some of the positive reviews, so it might be an enfoyable game for as long as you temper your expectation of it. So, keep in mind that : - There are only 3 cases, one of which act as the tutorial - Perspectives and the characters your are "playing as" doesn't really matter you are just gathering clue in the end - The cases are quite easy The art style is beautiful, that was for me the best part of the game.
