I recommend everyone to test the game's demo if you're uncertain about the game. I really enjoyed it, and was looking forward to play the full game. It's really fun and challenging to play, without stretching too much. After a couple of tries, I beat the game after around 7h ingame and a little something under 300 rounds. I think its a really nice complement to those really long hours and complex games of this genre for those not holding as much time on their hands. Sure thing, the build up is the same each time (as all of these games), but with changing maps and modes its a little new every time. Also, the devs are very active in here, answering questions really quick and throughoutly. Only downside is the missing translation into other languages.
Played the free demo to check it out, but only 60 turns sucks. It's a nice concept in a steam-punk kinda way with their airships. interesting city build. wish it wasn't limited in shards or to make larger maps. wiped the map to all blue in just over 300 turns.
Only recommend it at a major discount. 20$ for a game you'll tire of in a couple hours is way too much. That said, what content there is, is fun. Cool idea, average realization, no replayability. Scratches the 4x itch for an evening, but desperately needs more content to do the price justice.
I don't like writing reviews with so little time played, but if I waited I'd just be playing the same exact content 3-5 times more. What I mean is there isn't a whole lot to the game. I found the style to be neat, and the premise to be original, mostly. But the issues started even before I was able to load the game. I was told to pick my resolution and window type (full screen, windowed, etc.) before I even loaded the game. That wouldn't have been an issue, but when I went to put it into windowed more the best it could do was downgrade me to 1650 from 1920? WTF? My desktop native is 1920. So I went to fix it in-game... no option available. You can only change your resolution outside the game... Also, the game artificially pushes you to move fast by occasionally sending enemy waves at you that are harder and harder. This wouldn't usually be a terribly big issue, but in this game you don't even get enough time to explore all that much, or learn much in the skill tree (you only get research points from exploring...) You're stuck with one single combat ship style, and you can load 4 different types of troops you'll never see, they're just names and costs, onto them to make them stronger. By the time I got to the first castle of the three the "boss" owns it required me to have 160 strength to destroy it in one go... I could muster 120. Most of the research tree is pointless, too. Not that you'll get to build much as you'll get VERY used to the message, "Not enough citizens!" Maybe let me build what I want to, and shutter the buildings I don't need at the moment, hmm? If they really work at it they can correct the issues in a couple good patches. For now, though, add it to your wishlist and wait for it to be improved. 100 minutes was all I needed.
Steam really needs a 'meh' review option.
Good game, I really enjoy playing it. The tutorial is quite important to get into the gameplay. I struggle with corsair's attacks while growing my city, it is well balanced and very interesting. I'm not an experienced player so it might take me a while to defeat Catena ;) I love the idea of floating islands and the gameplay, I recommend the game for anyone that like strategy games and I shall win (I hope)!
This game has a demo so it allows you to try it before buying. I did and I liked it. Typically, I like more complex games, and this one while simple got into me: you can relax and try different scenarios to find your way. Allows you to relaxed and enjoy a simple game play after a hard day.
