10/10 GoTY, Needs less Doom and more Wolf.
I found this game because of DoomWolf, a Youtube Channel that does heavily edited video game challenge runs and commentaries. He essentially made it with help. Hearing the character speak in his voice took me a back. Doom definitely deserves to put "voice actor" in his Twitter/X/BlueSky bio, unlike those other bums that get hired for Triple A games and sound more wooden than a hollow tree stump. The game is simple, very simple. The actual gameplay isn't the point, you are a robot vacuum while you go through and listen to a diegetic story happening in the background. There were times where I wished so badly that I could help or do something to prevent this tragedy. In some ways, it reminds me of the Japan-only Roommania series. It wouldn't surprise me if Doom was inspired by this game since he's also a huge weeb. :P A short, simple tragic story got me. That's why I recommend it. It will take you 15 minutes tops to get the true ending. The game is a steal for what amounts to a proof of concept project.
The bosses aren’t hard enough, terrible souls game
Up there with games like "The Static Speaks My Name" or "Emily Is Away." Along that line, be aware, this game has some shocking elements that might upset some players. And the very realistic voice acting really adds to the effect. Well worth the play, would play again if my heart could take it.
More of a short story and a toe in the water than an actual game. Gameplay is basically a walking simulator, the mess is there as a thing to do while you get the story. There are achievements and ratings but its pretty much impossible to not get S rank unless you are actively trying not to, the battery life is also a non-issue. Graphical style is very charming, and I enjoyed the little details even if it looks like everything was made in MS Paint (and it might have, for all we know) I know this was more a "push it out the window to prove myself that I can" and I bought it just as a way to support the dev but I know the epic narratives they can make and I would love to see a much longer narrative game from them. The story itself for how short it is, its very good and there's a lot left implied that is interesting. If you frequent r/TwoSentenceHorror and can sacrifice a morning coffee to the cause you might like it. Fair warning, its a 15 minute game, don't expect to get your money's worth, this is a token of support more than it is a real purchase you are making. Edit: also to add, this game contains self harm, you have been warned. A content warning should probably be added to the steam page or the title screen.
Stupid little short fun game. SPOILERS. Wish I knew about before playing TW:
Visual depiction of suicide
PLEASE PLEASE add a content warning on the main menu!
Heard that one of my favorite Souls Youtubers made a game and wanted to support! I was VERY surprised to discover what the story was here.... I had fun, certainly worth the money spent and I look forward to what comes next!
First of all, the game itself is a great short story. As an experience I feel it hits all the narrative marks (I also do like this form of sideways storytelling) and as a first project it clearly makes me excited for more. In general, I like this and I like what it represents (the creativity and effort to bring a project to fruition I mean, the story itself is morbid xd). It is quite short, though for the narrative it is of appropriately length, any more exposition would have been too heavy handed in my opinion and unnecessary. In conclusion, I cant wait to play the next game and I am glad I got to see and play this very first project and I hope you had as much satisfaction making it as I had playing it, especially when I was trying my best to glitch through the wall (I was unsuccessful, good job xd).
Incredible life-changing experience that really makes you feel like a robot vacuum, the game also has uncapped fps for extra immersion, so your computer will make vacuum noises in real life while you play!
Solid foundation for potentially more. Smooth, plays well, and the dirt actually vacuums up in segments instead of just a fade away texture. That's miles better than most sims out there! Looking forward to whatever LSS does next.
