Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

So even though read through the bad reviews I still bought this thing. Hit play and was greeted buy a cartoonish spinning movie reel with the subtitles like "Hiding the boom mic" so I waited. Now I am GenX, I come from a time of the Atari 400 and waiting 20 minutes + for games to load via cassette, no big deal right? I waited....and waited...and waited....the sound cut out.... I waited, then I closed it. This game is trash, however I only paid $1.09, so no loss, however I feel that buck-O-nine could have helped the homeless or gone to TLC animal shelter, but I digress. A $1.09? why no 99 cents?, that 9 nines rakes me. Anyway, avoid this spoiled milk. waste of time.

It is a very creative game of movie making. I think it is even the best! First of all, it helps your creativity and imagination spark. Secondly, I would like to mention that, by playing it, I realised how hard it was for movie companies to work out in the late '60 or '80, depending on the era I chose to start. The only disadvantage is that since 2023's update 1.6, no updates have been announced, which means that the game is pretty much dead. however, I totally reckon it!
Moviehouse – The Film Studio Tycoon is a management-focused simulation that explores the business, planning, and creative compromises behind running a movie studio, rather than the glamour usually associated with filmmaking. Developed by Odyssey Studios and published by Assemble Entertainment, the game positions the player as a studio founder starting small and gradually navigating the shifting landscape of the film industry. Its core appeal lies in transforming abstract creative ideas into financial results, asking players to balance artistic ambition with commercial survival over decades of virtual filmmaking. From the beginning, Moviehouse establishes a slow, methodical rhythm that emphasizes long-term thinking. You start with a modest studio, limited staff, and basic production options, choosing which types of films to create based on genres, themes, and audience appeal. Instead of directly crafting scenes or watching movies unfold visually, the game abstracts filmmaking into a system of choices, budgets, and probabilities. Scripts are written through selectable concepts, directors and actors are hired based on stats and cost, and production moves forward largely through menus and progress bars. This design choice makes the game feel more like a business simulator than a creative sandbox, placing the focus squarely on strategic decision-making. As your studio grows, the complexity increases through additional systems such as staff management, marketing decisions, festival submissions, and financial risk assessment. Choosing how much to invest in a project becomes a recurring tension, as overspending can cripple your studio while playing too safe may result in forgettable releases that fail to build momentum. The game encourages players to think like producers rather than artists, constantly weighing reputation, genre trends, and audience expectations against available resources. When a film succeeds, the payoff is primarily numerical and reputational, but the satisfaction comes from seeing a carefully planned strategy pay off rather than from spectacle. One of Moviehouse’s defining traits is its reliance on abstraction, which can be both a strength and a weakness. On one hand, it allows the game to cover decades of industry evolution without overwhelming the player with micromanagement. On the other, it can make the experience feel detached, as films themselves never truly come to life beyond text summaries and performance metrics. Unlike more visually driven studio simulations, Moviehouse asks players to imagine the final product rather than experience it, which may disappoint those hoping for a more cinematic or expressive approach to filmmaking. The user interface is functional and clean, prioritizing clarity over style. Menus provide essential information about staff, finances, and ongoing projects, but they can feel dense and repetitive during long sessions. Visual presentation is understated, with static images and minimal animation reinforcing the game’s spreadsheet-like structure. Audio design follows a similar philosophy, offering unobtrusive background music that supports the gameplay without drawing attention to itself. While this restrained presentation suits the management focus, it also contributes to the feeling that the game lacks emotional highs, even during major successes. Challenge and balance fluctuate as the game progresses. Early stages require careful planning and restraint, with limited funds forcing meaningful decisions and creating tension around every production. Later on, once systems unlock and income stabilizes, the difficulty can soften, allowing players to recover from failures more easily and reducing the sense of risk. Some mechanics feel underutilized or loosely connected, occasionally making outcomes seem less directly tied to player intent than expected. Still, for players who enjoy optimizing systems and experimenting with strategies, there is satisfaction in refining studio operations over time. In the end, Moviehouse – The Film Studio Tycoon is a thoughtful but restrained take on film industry management. It succeeds in portraying the less glamorous realities of running a studio, where success is built through planning, budgeting, and understanding audience trends rather than creative freedom alone. Its lack of visual storytelling and hands-on filmmaking may limit its appeal, but for players drawn to calm, menu-driven simulations that reward patience and strategic thinking, Moviehouse offers a distinctive and intellectually engaging experience that reflects the business side of cinema more than its fantasy. Rating: 5/10
This game is not ready for release yet. It is full of bugs. For instance - i have released som 20 films by now and i am ALWAYS 5th place when i enter a film festival. The eternal 5th. The revenue on each film is totally random - even with an averarage 8/10 in reviews - can still be same revenue as a film with 2/10. I don't have any sense of what is good for a film to score big - i still feel it's completely random - so i have no sense of idea what to do for a film to become better. Another this is my Director reaches level 2 in his general level, but my writer was still level 1 and his experience had not moved an inch on the general level, that is a complete bug. I bought it at 70 percent discount - that is the only reason i dit not feel like getting a refund. I have hopes - it is still under development.
The movie geek in me, wasn't satisfied. Might pick it up again, some day... but then maybe not.
I played this but not recommended
