I'm going to get raked over the coals for this but ♥♥♥♥ it. Mouthwashing is a really good interactive story. But that's just it. It's a story. A story you interact with. Not a game. If you really like interactive fiction, then this is a great horror story for you. But I can't recommend this if you are looking for a horror "game". I love the N64/PSX graphics. I love the sound. I love the music. I love the story. But gameplay, it's a stretch to even say there is any of that. TLDR If you like interactive stories, buy it. It's a really good story. If you prefer a game with your horror story, it's not really here. Watch a walkthough on YouTube.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game had potential but is way overrated for what it is, in my opinion. The characters are all interesting, and the game tries to view them from a psychological lens, but never goes past "bad things are bad". So I am having a hard time seeing why people are praising it for its writing since the characters don't really have time to develop in such a short game. But it's fine in this aspect, really, and this alone wouldn't have made me give it a thumbs down. What makes me give this a negative review is that the type of horror is mostly shock value and the "haunted house" kind of horror that Bloober made a living from with the Layers of Fear games. I absolutely hate this kind of context-less focus on scares. Good horror games make you care deeply about what's happening to earn their shocking and emotional moments, or they manage to fill you with visceral fear like in the Amnesia games or in Alien Isolation. Maybe I'm expecting too much of a walking simulator type experience, but I just couldn't wait for this game to end when it just throws you into room after room of aimless wandering near the finish line. That trick is not scary, fun, or even all that interesting. Buy this on a sale, I'm glad I did.
This feels very much like it's written for teenagers. It's a walking simulator that stretches out segments just long enough to put you over the playtime to be ineligible for a refund. I would recommend for a high school kid who hasn't experienced much in the horror genre, maybe, but even then there are so many much better entry points. Characters are paper-thin with their intentions written on their face, twists are easy to understand, just feels incredibly toothless.
This is a very good game about narcissistic personality disorder.
Now I finally understand why so many like this game. The vibes and atmosphere are just immaculate. It has a slow-burning start, with a lot of rather disinteresting dialogue, and it took me some time to immerse myself into it, but it does a great job at reeling you in step by step, showing more of its uncanniness, expanding the narrative, and showing more of the characters' personalities. The artistic direction is splendid, the narrative is very special and well written, and although the game is rather unnerving than scary, there are still spooks here and there. I tend to avoid mainstream media, since I was disappointed in it far more than I was pleased. However, I've had a great time playing this game and can now truly sing its praise.
