Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Yes.
Great graphich and artwork, and now, with navigable map and direction-pointing hint system. The only killjoy is that you'd better be fluent in Russian with some HO scenes as designers were apparently using Google Translate which does sometimes stubmle upon wrongly translated homonyms.
This casual point-and-click adventure is not a direct sequel of Mountain Trap. It seems to have been made by a different team and has a different style and mood. It does provide closure for the storyline there, but only indirectly. It's an OK game, but doesn't stand out in any way. The point-and-click adventuring can be quite difficult and not entirely logical. The hidden-object scenes have a few small bugs and poorly named items. The game features a chemistry set mechanic that is simply busy work with no interesting challenge. These deficiencies make the game feel rather clunky. Some reviewers judge this game to be better than the first, but I have the opposite opinion.
Mountain Trap 2: Under the Cloak of Fear (2016, разработчик — Color Brush Studio, издатель — RunServer) — квест с поиском предметов и головоломками в детективном сеттинге.
Mountain Trap 2: Under the Cloak of Fear is a slow-burn mystery adventure that leans heavily into atmosphere, observation, and classic point-and-click investigation rather than action or spectacle. Developed by Color Brush Studio and published by RunServer, the game continues the narrative thread established in the first Mountain Trap, expanding its eerie small-town setting and doubling down on hidden-object gameplay as the primary means of storytelling. It is clearly designed for players who enjoy methodical puzzle solving and a sense of creeping unease built through environment and implication rather than overt horror. The story unfolds in the troubled town of Wilshere, where a string of unsettling disappearances has left the community gripped by fear and suspicion. Rather than presenting a fast-moving or cinematic plot, the game invites players to piece together the mystery gradually by exploring locations, questioning characters, and uncovering fragments of information embedded in everyday surroundings. The narrative tone is somber and restrained, focusing on psychological tension and the lingering presence of something wrong beneath the town’s quiet exterior. This approach creates a sense of unease that grows steadily as more clues are uncovered, even if the storytelling remains understated throughout. Gameplay revolves primarily around hidden-object scenes and point-and-click exploration. Players move between a variety of hand-painted environments, searching for items listed through contextual clues that often tie directly into the investigation. Some objects are straightforward to locate, while others blend into the scenery or require closer scrutiny, encouraging careful observation rather than rushed clicking. Items found are frequently used to solve environmental puzzles or unlock new areas, creating a loop where exploration and puzzle solving feed naturally into one another. The pacing is deliberate, allowing players to absorb details and atmosphere without pressure from timers or reflex-based challenges. One of the strengths of Mountain Trap 2 lies in its environments. Locations such as abandoned houses, shadowy streets, and isolated woodland areas are designed to feel slightly off, reinforcing the narrative themes of secrecy and fear. While the visuals are not technically advanced, the illustrated backdrops carry enough detail to support both the hidden-object mechanics and the mood of the story. The subdued color palette and static presentation emphasize stillness and tension, making the world feel frozen in a moment of unresolved dread. Puzzle design varies in quality, with some challenges feeling intuitive and well integrated into the story, while others rely on logic that may not always be immediately clear. This inconsistency can occasionally interrupt immersion, especially when progression hinges on a small or easily overlooked interaction. However, the inclusion of quality-of-life features such as an interactive map helps reduce frustration by minimizing unnecessary backtracking and making navigation between locations more manageable than in the first game. Narrative delivery is text-focused, relying on written dialogue and item descriptions rather than voice acting or animated sequences. This places greater emphasis on reading and interpretation, rewarding players who pay close attention to phrasing and context. Character interactions are brief but purposeful, often revealing just enough to deepen suspicion or redirect the investigation. While the mystery itself may not deliver dramatic twists or complex branching outcomes, it maintains a consistent tone that supports the overall experience. The game’s length is modest, making it well suited to shorter play sessions rather than extended marathons. Completionists may spend additional time revisiting scenes or unlocking achievements, but the core experience is compact and focused. This brevity works in the game’s favor, preventing the hidden-object mechanics from becoming overly repetitive while maintaining narrative momentum through to its conclusion. Ultimately, Mountain Trap 2: Under the Cloak of Fear is a niche adventure that caters specifically to fans of hidden-object mysteries and slow, atmospheric storytelling. It does not attempt to modernize the genre or introduce complex systems, instead refining a familiar formula with a stronger sense of place and mood than its predecessor. While its dated presentation and uneven puzzle logic may limit its appeal for some, players who enjoy careful investigation, eerie settings, and classic point-and-click design will find a quietly engaging mystery that values patience and attention to detail over spectacle. Rating: 5/10
I like the gameplay and the puzzles in this game, but the hidden object scenes are really confusing when it comes to the naming of the things you are supposed to find. A spark plug is called 'candle', a tassle is called 'rosary'. Not easy to find the things on the list if the aren't even named right.
💋
This one is way more polished than its prequel which was pretty meh and quite a chore to play through. Mountain Trap 2 however with the additional QoL feautres, is alot more casual and doesn't outstay it's welcome. Picked it up for less than a buck, and definetly got my money's worth out of it. Kinda mediocre but solid gameplay.
