This is where Mount & Blade started for me. I still remember starting out with almost nothing, fighting bandits, joining tournaments, recruiting my first soldiers, and slowly building an army of my own. It may look very dated now, but back then the freedom it gave me felt incredible. There was no fixed path—I could be a trader, mercenary, vassal, or simply wander around Calradia looking for trouble. Even after Warband and Bannerlord, the original Mount & Blade will always be special to me. This is the game that got me hooked on the series.

Didn't really care for the game when I first got it. Decided to give it another go because, in theory, it is the kind of game I should like. Game crashed on start and nothing I did could get it to run.
