About
Mortal Shell is a deep action-RPG that tests your sanity and resilience in a shattered world. As the remains of humanity wither and rot, zealous foes fester in the ruins. They spare no mercy, with survival demanding superior awareness, precision and instincts. Track down hidden sanctums of devout followers and discover your true purpose.

The dead litter this tattered landscape, but not all are without hope. The lost remains of defeated warriors are yours to discover. Awaken these Mortal Shells, occupy their bodies and significantly open your understanding to diverse masteries of combat.

Your path is guarded by desperate adversaries, devoted to inscrutable gods. Behold creatures both pitiable and grotesque, but do not let fear halt your journey. Muster your courage and face them down.

Combat is strategic and deliberate. You must commit your sword only when an opportunity opens. Calculate your parries to unleash devastating counterblows. Temporarily entomb your Mortal Shell in stone to block attacks, or play aggressive and use your stone-form to add brutal weight to your own sword swings.

I had fun with this game :)
This is one of my favorites, Has exactly what i want to a Soulslike game ... Dark, Gothic, Atmospheric ... Its kind of small but it was the first game for a small indie dev company, so taking this under consideration it was Awesome! , Looking forward for the 2nd one, we played the Beta and it looks amazing ... Here is our Let's Play YouTube Series of the game https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWwAKLs9xAno
I felt more lost in this game than a homeless man under house arrest.
Its so bad its good
Not a bad game, some good ideas like hardening, and the parry mechanic is fun if jank, but lack of Estus equivalent makes the game punishing to the point of not respecting your time. Rather just play another Soulslike. The story is clearly trying to emulate Dark Souls vagueness, but completely missed the mark on giving the player any bit of information to care about the world. Hoping the 2nd is better! Devs have promise
Mortal Shell manages to outstay its welcome remarkably quickly. Depending on the order you play through the three major areas it can happen as quickly as your first hour of play. There are a number of mechanics in the game that I can only describe as hostile game-design. I'd neither recommend nor recommend against Mortal Shell and whether you enjoy it may depend on whether you enjoy souls-like action RPGs or not. 10/10 would get shot by 12 ballista mistresses on my way back from the final boss of Eternal Narthex and quit the game repeatedly to unbug not being able to dodge or sprint anymore again

As someone who loves Souls-like games, I do not recommend this game. It is too short, the areas are boring and repetitive, the enemy spam is disgusting, they spam the same enemies over and over and over again. Theres like 3 areas outside of the main super repetitive area, weapon and build variety is extremely low, music is non existent, bosses are slightly fun but barely. Story makes zero sense. Like what even is this game? I know they are making a sequel but I am taking it off my wishlist lol
